  1. This person has too much time on their hands
  2. Has anyone seen many fantasy XR's on the road? I'm yet to see one
  3. Guys this might be a bit of a noob question but why haven't any after market ECU manufacturers (motech, microtech, autronic etc) made any aftermarket ECU's. is it just because the factory one is so tunable? Thanks
  4. As per my first post, with just Custom Edit and CAI, best of 12.98, average over 5 runs (at my 1 and only meet) was exactly [email protected]. I could've stalled a poofteenth higher, but was trying to keep the gearbox happy (if that is really possible) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just a quick question how much boost were you running when u got that time?

    Xr6t Mods

Hey guys, thanks again for the feedback. Just another quick question when you get your T "edited" does it run extra boost or is it still standard? do you get to specify how much boost you would like before the tune? Thanks

    Xr6t Mods

Thanks guys much appreciated. By about mid year or abit after I will be looking at buying a car. The options are VY SS or an XR6t. I have been reading these forums for a long time and seems value for money / bang for your buck the xr6t and SS are very similar still not sure which path to take though. Thanks again. Cheers

    Xr6t Mods

Guys, just a quick question, if you had an xr6t auto and all you did was CAI and edit, would you need 1. extra or larger oil cooler? 2. extra or larger trans cooler? 3. valve springs? If you were to add the above mods would it be alot more reliable or just a waste of money? Thanks in advance One more quick question I've heard that if you remove one of the mufflers from the exhaust you can pick up a few extra KW's but is there a downside to doing this? does the exhaust become alot louder and does it drone?
  9. guys, would it be safe to assume that an xr6t (auto) with edit/unichip and CAI would run a low 13/high 12 or just consistent 13's and roughly what MPH? Cheers

    New Gtho

if they don't use the v8 then it just wouldn't be a GTHO
  11. Do you have to use the Monash freeway?
  12. What he said
  13. I think as much as the phoon is a fantastic car its not quite engineered as well as an EVO or STi. These cars have been around for ages and have had numerous revisions where as the phoon is pretty much still a virgin. just my thoughts
  14. that's an impressive result, how much boost were you running to acheive those numbers? Cheers
  15. The times for the XR8 and GT just seem too slow even taking into consideration those times above are 0.2-0.4 slower than normal. Every time Motor test these cars they get different results, although that is perfectly normal the difference between each test is miles off there doesn't seem to be much consistency with their testing.
  16. I got lied to (or should I be nice and say "mis-informed") by a dealer recently then. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They'll say anything to try and get you to buy one
  17. I totally agree with what Costello said and would like to see that put into action ASAP.
  18. Mr Turbo, saw your car at the Cranbourne meet last night, must say it is a hot looking xr6t. Good luck with your mods and hopefully we'll see you guys on friday night. cheers
  19. I'll be there to spectate
  20. just thought I'd let you know if you didn't already, you can pick up an ls2 for 49k driveaway (that's for a brand new one).

    New Times

just a few more suggestions try and reduce the weight of your vehicle, take out the spare tyre run and any other items which may reduce your weight, try with only half a tank of fuel or less, drop the pressure in your tyres to about 22psi. do a little burnout to warm them up, as above stall up to 2000 - 2500 rpm. Good luck with getting your 12 sec pass
  22. very nice looking ride
  23. nah not after 8's at all just want to run a 9 in a manual in fuel street trim with pump fuel witht he new car that's all If I wanted an 8 id buy a vl turbo or twin turbo an old mustang or something <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good luck trying to get a ls2/ls1 manual to run a 9 sec pass with pump fuel if that is something you can achieve then you deserve a noble prize
  24. this sounds like the words of someone who has "foot in mouth syndrome" I've driven an xr6t and a cv8 loved them both but off the line the xr6 did not feel as quick as the cv8. As the saying goes "there's no replacement for displacement" whats wrong, can't you handle hearing someone else's opinion?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No we can handle anyones opinion but draw the line at listening to idiots trying to compare V8's to 6T's. The Replacement for Displacement is just a big yawn now and most V8 lovers that step outta my car just say... Well there really is no comparison the turbo rules hands down, but the V8's still sound better.... To follow the displacement idea for a minute I will show you a simple calculation as follows One atmosphere is equal to 14.24354 psi at sea level When a NA motor is at BDC on the induction stroke the pressure in the cylinder can be no more than one atmosphere. If another 14 psi is added to one atmosphere it doubles the displacement of the motor artificially therefore the 4 litres become 8 litres. At 7 psi the motors artificial displacement is 6 litres. Hence if you want to go on about the displacement yawn, we are actually running a larger motor than the LS1.. So now go I <3 Bananas yourself......... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> your my hero blonk!! do you want a medal or a chest to pin it on??
  25. that's a mint xr6t
