Do the time I say. I could have a Manual with no Premium sound today in Phantom if I wanted it... I will wait till march for mine to have what I want... I think you will regret it if you jump in now.. After all it is only a few weeks (9) and you will have the car for years. I was doing well in waiting until I had a loan of a Base XT Auto for 2 days. Boy.. If the XT is that good NOW I cant wait for the XR6T... Bring on March.. The mono screen and no 6 stack just did not cut it comapired to the premium sound jobie..

Ford and other lesser companies have been doing this for ages. The european guys have been doing this since the 70's. They only paint the engine bay and under side of bonet, boot etc the base colour. No extra coats or clear etc. Saves on cost (and weight !!! ;-) ). My AUII has this. No stress.. That is just the way it is done now.. Not a fault..

Guys, New green.. When Where??? I have ordered a Phantom but it is being built in March. When is the new Green due out.. May consider a change... Was going for Congo but found it a bit dark... More info needed asap.. Thanks.

Dagabond, The answer is a big "Nope" If you have the $$ and sign the indemnety then away you go... There are a bunch of people that hire our Calder of a Wednesday arvo / night from 4:00pm once a month. (Mainly Porche guys). I know a guy that takes his ex race a9X 4 door out and goes for a run. The same deal. They give you a quick safety thing take you for a spin to show how I is done. Sign your life away and away you go!!. PM me if needed and I will see if we can not get a few more people to go along.. Any group of people can hire out Winton / Calder for the day and go for it. Most people with nice new / old cars just go for the fun and see / learn what the car will and will not do under certain situations. A damn good Idea I say.. I punted my XW HO & MKII GT Cortin around Winton a few times. Top way to learn what the car will do with-out the potential to loose the licence or hit someone walking across the street. Go for it..

Guys, Re the sound deadining in the boot. All Fairmonts get this stuff on the inside of the boot lid. Not sure about the Futura.? So it should be a spare part that should be able to be ordered and installed.?? There are a few things in the Fairmont that I would like to add.. Bring back the sunglasses holder... (I think the Fairmont has it??)

Guys, I have a AUII in Venum. Nice colour and fairly easy to keep clean. The only issue I have with my AUII is that the red has a white undercoat. If you do heaps of highway driving then be carefull of the stone chips. I have headlight and bonnet protectors on mine and have done 90,000 in 22months. The bonnet has a number of chips on it... I personaly dont like Acid Rush (but that is only my tates) I went Phantom. You realy need to see them in the Sun to get a full appreciation of the colours. As Acid Rush and Venum are not XR exclusive colours if you keep your eyes pealed you should see a few on the road. Most delers have at least on Acid rush (sedand / Ute or Wagon) in stock. IMO...

Mine will be... XR6T Phantom (Changed from Congo Green..) Auto Std 17' wheels Grey cloth interior Premium sound. Window Tint Tow bar Bonnet protector.. March delivery. (No stress need to see AUII) Can't wait...

Guys, Have any of you driven at XW or XY with a Toploader. Now that is a nochy gear change mech.. But I love it. Yes I know that was in a 35 year old car but!. The boxes today are much smoother. I guess it is something you get use too.

Upgrading from AUII XR6 VCT Auto to a XR6T Auto.. Need to wait for March though and sell the AUII. Previous cars Genuine XW GT HO (Phase 1) & 73 XB GT, Mk II GT Cortina (Top fun around Winton.!)

Guys, There is a Acid Rush XR6T auto at Sunford in Sunbury. On the floor not sold. This one is a base XR6T. No other options. They have sold the Phantom XR6T they had.

Hydro, Hmmmm. I also dont like the sonud of this. I also have a AUII with one in it and it works well. Keep the info coming and any pics as well as brand / model of phone cradle you have. I will not get my car until March so we should have some info by then... Keep it coming.. Any pics??

Guys, When I purchased my AUII VCT I asked the question of Synthetic oil to a Tickford guy. He said to leave normal oil in it until the first service (15,000km). Then change if I want to Fully Synthetic. I have found that the Shell Heix is better than the Moble1 Fully Synthetic. The last service I went to another dealer and thye used Mobile rather than Shell and now that it has done 10,000km (in about 2 months) that the engine is a bitt rattley and I will be asking for the Shell again as it did not do this in the past. I do note that it was hard to get the correct viscosity Synthetic oil (as per the FORD spec) from AutoBarn type places as the VCT needs a certain rating oil. I am not sure for the Turbo BA but I will be asking similar questions when I get mine early next year. Considering the new BA motore has VCT I will be asking for Shell as the preference.... IMO...

Hey Sik XE, I just called into Duhig for pricing etc. They said that they did not have a demo XR6T. They have a base XR registered in Acid Rush. There is a XR6T Manual on the showroom floor. Whats the go?? Can you get me a drive of the "T"????

I live in Sunbury (Vic). XR6T Auto. Rating 1 NCB etc RACV are $820 AAMI are $734 Alianz - They said that they would not insure a XR6T at all. No matter where I live...

Or try this one. I am not sure what models of the Nokia will do that larger logo file..? I know the 6210 works fine...

Guys, Aftre talking to my local Frod guy yesterday. The XR8 Auto will not be out for a while yet. They are talking April. They are having issues with the Auto for the XR8. Apparently they are looking at the auto used in the Maseratti for the XR8. Same Torgue range. Need to do work on the gearing though. ..

Richdave.. No joke... If I wanted a Phantom one I could have got this. The wife did not like to colour so I will wait till April. There are a few dealers that are doing fleet discounts on the Turbo.. Sunford, Etheridge (Stef) Jefferson Mentone.. Fleet discounts only come if you work for a company that gets national fleet discount... I definately have national fleet discount on my XR6T...

Same here guys. The wife does not like the cloth trim patern.. But not sure about the leather with heat and the extra $2k. Have gone the grey cloth (the only option with Congo green anyway in the cloth)... What is it with the interior colour designers these days. If a woman is running it (like at Ford and Holden) you would think they would get the colours and paterns correct so that other Women like them therefore to allow there bloke to get the car they want!!! ;-)

I like the Blueprint and Phantom. I have a AUII in Venum that looks great. There is something about the BA in Venum that looks funny.. Not sure what it is. The biggest problem with the AUII in Venum is that it has a white undercoat. So the stone chips shine through... I am opting for Congo green this time. I expect it to be hard to keep clean like Phantom and black but not as bad (I hope). Has anyone seen a congo green one at all. THere are a few XT, Futura's around but I have not seen a XR anywhere. ... The wife likes the green as it is not so "look at me" as the Venum. My deal was.. I choose the car (XR6T of course) she chooses the colour. Let me know if anyone has seen a congo green one at a dealer so I can go and have a look. Have seen one on the freeway (going the other way) this morning. Looks nice. In the future may be a rarer car as not as popular...

Guys, Whats the deal with the rear disks.?? Does this one have the premium brake option. Looks like the rotors are groved??? Looks tops though
