Guys, What is the deal with the clock that sets the post time or update time. It seems to be an hour out? It was fine a few days ago.. This is the best way to see if any updates have been added. (I monitor this site at work... LOL)

Ah the good old days.. Not too long ago you had a GHTO sticker on the glove box and your were in the best machine on the road with a 4 speed Top loader. Back then you realy knew that you were in gear (Ah I can still feel the clunk...) Ah and the high beam on/ off switch was on the floor next to the clutch pedal it was impossible to change gear and dip the high beam at the same time....... You had fat 6" steel 5 or 12 slot wheels with aqua jets... Now those were the days..

XR_Strider_GuY, My AUII Auto XR6 VCT started the dif clunk (going around corners slowly sounding like it had a locker diff) started at 15,000km. I got the dif kit and the noise went away. I also complained about the LSD not working. (put left wheel in dirt - does not work, put right wheel in dirt - works fine) They have replaced it a few times. Now is sort of OK. Have not bothered for a while now..

Welcome to the Forum. I guess it will depend on 2 things.. The biggest issue you will have is insurance... Big bucks... The second one is Power to weight ratio. If you are in Vic call Vic Roads or check there web site. I am sure that this will not be a issue with the XR6T as it is 1750kg. But check anyway.. For example.. A P plater in Vic can not drive a XW - XB GT as they are a 351 - 5.8L but can drive a 302 - 4.9L Although thinking about this the XB's were rated at 300bhp. - 222kw approx (I think) so you may be stuffed.. Anyway, check out Vic roads and see what they have to say..

Wig, (all) I just spoke to the dealer who had been talking to the warranty people.. They will extend the warranty by adding 1 year and an additional 20,000km for approx $500-$700 (Not sure of figure as I did not ask). So this brings the car to 4 years and 120,000KM. But this is no good for people who do big K's and lease. I wanted the normal 3 years and 160,000km. This goes into the too hard basket and they do not do it... So if you are doing 30,000km and going to keep the car for 4 years then you can extend the warranty. But if you do 40,000km + then the extended warranty is no go as it will only cover you for 3 years and not 4.. Make sence....? Oh well.. Looks like the lease will take the hit for repairs in year 3 and 4. Or I may turn the baby over after 2 years 85,000/90,000km and get the next one (if the wife allows it...... )

Wig, No stress. I have been waiting for the dealer to advise me of the price. I will chase them today and let you know.

Mondie, I am looking into this now. I lease my car and do 40,000km a year so just after the 2nd year it would be out of warranty. I have asked to extend the warranty to 160,000km / 4 years. I am waiting for pricing. (My car is due to be built in March.... waiting...... waiting......) I will let you know if they give me a price.

Muzzzza, Re the back of the que.. It all depends on what you have ordered and available stock. Some dealers have cars in the show room and your dealer may be able to swap if they have exactly what you are after... For example.. There is a Phantom xr6T manual with Phantom interior and 17" wheels at Sunford (Sunbury Vic).. As the premium sound, 18" wheels, leather etc are all ex Factory and can not be changed it all comes down to specific spec and availability.. Good luck. I ordered mine in Dec and will be built late March...

Falchoon, Even with the seat cranked down to the lowest I still feel too high. (in a base XT). I guess that is life when you are tall.. Re the head room. The sun roof mechinism is about 2inch's in depth so you loose at least 2 -2.5 inch's of head room as the roof needs to slide into the cavity between the roof and the head lining. I guess you may be thinking of the old "Pop up" moon roof where all they do is cut a hole and plop in..

I too had the same thought. I am just on 6ft but like to sit up straight. I went and sat in a Fairmont Giha and found my hair touched the roof. I am lead to believe you sit a little lower in the XR but not sure (I do not have mine yet).. I would have likde the hole in the roof but could not spring for the extra $2,000.. I would say you realy need to see for your self and drive a car with one fitted. I would think you may be in a bit of trouble...

Turbo6, I went to have a look at the car that was at Doncaster Ford (Inside the dealer) The colout is not to my liking but that is me. It seems to be a flat colour. Ford say it is metalic but I could not see that in the car. I like a metalic colour so I chose Phantom. Having said that I did / do have a AUII Venum XR6. The red is also a flat colour. (currently for sale by the way). B) I think it is something you need to see for yourself and build your own opinion... I think it may date but then again so may the Phantom although unlikely...

Update.. Base 100 watt Single CD LCD Display - all cars get single CD as base (apart from Fairmont and Giha) Prestige sound LCD display and 6 stack CD - Std on Fairmont, Option only on XT, Futura Premium Sound Colour Screen 6 stack suby etc - Std on Ghia, Option only on XR6, 6T, 8, Fairmont Note: In the XR with the Premium sound the words "6 Stack" or "6 CD" are no printed on the dash. They are printed on the Fairmont, Ghia though. You can not miss the Suby grill in the parcel shelf and the colour LCD display though for the premium sound... Info from the brochure. This is for Sedans and Wagons only. Not utes. I believe the premium sound is not an option in the UTE..??

PURSUTE, The Sunnie holder is standard in the BA Fairmont (or Giha not sure). The front reading lights in the BA are different to the AU. Do we will need ot order the BA sunnies holder. See post from ninka above for Part number..

They took it away cos some people b**ched cos they removed Hot sun glasses from the roof console and they burn their face... I would have thought they would have waited for the glasses to cool down a little first. I miss this feature also. I may put one in mine.. mine has not been built yet so I will see when I get it..

Most Ford Dealer Spare parts departments have or can get it. Or check the Ford Web site...

Ninka, Sound like we have the same ideas. Whats the cost of this one. I assume this is a simple as just pushing in the plastic tab bits to make it fit to the boot.. Ta.

Ninka, I had the same thought. I have a AUII and I use this for my sunnies. People have said that they get hot up there. I have never had this. I had hoped that the install would be simpler than the "remove head lining etc" Bugger... Let us know the costs and I may get the guys to do this as part of their dealer delivery bit.. I had hoped that the light assy. in the roof would hold it in some how.. Oh well..

Go the AUII XR6 VCT. They have IRS. They go realy well and the handling in supurb over the solid rear axel set up. I just happen to have a AUII XR6 VCT Auto for sale if you are interested. See the Market place.. Take me baby..

The dealer either was a bit thick (I doubt it) or they used this $225 for the discount to get your deal.. Even from brand new out of the box in October I have always been quoted for the paint. But I am a fleet customer so all the discount goes on the fleet discount and not stuff like this.. Well done..

Superroo... OK here is the deal.. The dealers get "Allocation" about 2/3 months ahead of time. They are told by Ford how many XR6, XR6T, XR8s etc they will be "Allocated" in a specific Month. Once this happens then they place orders / set the specs of the car against that allocation. This is the point where they get the SIDO number. So the long and the short of it is that if they have not got their allocation for April then they have not placed your order against it and can not get a SIDO till that is done.. If there order numbers are larger than the numbers of allocations then the only thing they can do (apart from b**ch at Ford for more) is to try and swap something they have been allocated with another dealer... In most cases the dealers will have an idea ahead of time how many of a specific model they will get allocated. For example my dealer knew that he was not geting any XR6T's in Feb and that the one that they had been allocated for December was puched back to Jan. So I was told that I was first cab of the rank for March allocation (I was and mine is the only XR6T they will get in March - Small dealer but this is all good..) Make sence.... Ask them if they ave their allocation for April and when they will be placing the orders for April. Then you can get the SIDO... Good luck.

Bzzzt!! Sorry. It is a cost option. The brochure is wrong. If you read on the bottom of the brochure it has a line that mentions that Ford can change the spec at any time with out notice.... So the only colours that you can get with our the preseige paint is Red and white...

Falcoon, Good one bud.. I am wainting for mine still.. March.. Oh well.. I had a Auto base XT for 3 days this week. I played with the Auto for a few hours until I found how it works and what it does. Just be paitent and have a play with the auto and I am sure you will be happy with your decission. Mine will be an Auto also.. Still looking for a buyer of the AUII VCT Auto... Open to reasonable offers... If you know anyone.

AMoffat, Sounds to me like that if they can not / will not give you the SIDO that they have not ordered it.! I would be pushing real hard and going up the ladder at the dealership. If you ordered it on the 7th of Dec then if they have allocated your order against their allocation they WILL have the SIDO. Each dealer gets an allocation of XR's per month. If they have taken more orders than their allocaiton the only way they can get a car for you is do a swap with another dealer. I would bet that dealers will only swap XR for XR also.. Start stomping some heads bud, dont rest until you get an answer / SIDO....( I say... )

Hey all, I am fairly sure (I dont have a Ute brochure in front of me) that the Ute can only be optioned with the preseige sound (mono screen and 6 stack) Only the sedans get the Premium ( colour LCD and Suby etc...)
