  1. Amazing choice. They look an absolute winner on the car!
  2. Is that an actual exclusive for Wheels? Or an exclusive photoshop from a uni student with a bunch of unfounded statements in an article like most of their other articles?
  3. Haha yeah they are pretty steep. They did a great job of it all though. I think there was a couple other things in there though, he got a cooler done and xcal and retune, so I think the conversion alone was like 7ish. Still not bargain basement pricing!
  4. A mate of mine converted his BA from 4 speed auto to 6 speed manual through Nizpro. They sourced a new F6 gearbox for him. Cost about $9k including retune and parts.
  5. Lol, yes did face a few of those in the traffic like GP at times when I was like 19. Mind you that was back when I thought my car's 15.1 quarter mile was blisteringly quick
  6. - 94 EF Fairmont I6 - 00 Lancer Coupe (Don't ask) - 96 EL XR6 5 speed - 96 EL Fairmont Dual Fuel with Tickford Kit - 98 Toyota Soarer TT - 02 AUII XR8 220 - 97 R33S2 Skyline GTS-T - 05 BF F6 Typhoon - Bunch of VW company cars including GTIs, Golf Rs and V6 Passats / CCs - Current ride is a 2010 50th anniversary G6ET
  7. <rant> Australian politics and the popularity contest it has deteriorated into. If I see one more article about someone not wanting to vote because they don't like either leaders does my brain in. You're voting for a party to govern, not one person. This is not America, they are not a president with the power of veto. Furthermore, the Labor Party and their complete cluelessness with areas of the economy. The changes to FBT will do an enormous level of damage to the automotive retail sector. A large percentage of the cars we sell these days are novated leases and this will reduce that demand. This means less jobs for sales people, finance and insurance, admin, mechanics, and that is before talking about how it well affect local manufacturing that's already on the mat waiting to be stomped on - and the massive job losses that have already occurred at leasing companies like NLC that watched their enquiry levels drop to about 2% day on day. Not to mention they just snuck through they will also terminate 800 public service positions. Now I like to rag on people with cushy jobs as much as the next bloke, but they're still people with families. A car manufacturer stands down 200-400 jobs and it's front page news, the Labor party terminates 800 people from the public sectors and put at least double that at risk in the automotive and finance industries and that's ok... </rant>
  8. Stock suspension components ARE covered under statutory warranty provided damage has not been caused by negligence or misuse.
  9. you're* I've always hated octane. I remember selling an octane F6 to a guy when I worked at Fraud. I was trying as hard as I could to convince him to buy a good colour, but he just wouldn't listen. Then he put 21" chromies on it...
  10. I wish Ford actually had some money so the Miami engine could get the right chassis and technology...
  11. Factory wheels FTW - I wouldn't change the wheels on my 50th for love nor money, except maybe for some 5th anniversaries if I was going to get bigger brakes. I've never really liked aftermarket wheels - it's why I hate the current GT wheels, look like they sent the apprentice at FPV to go get some alloys from the tyre factory and that's what he came back with. And re: 1 car that looks bad with FRs - pretty much any car that's been posted above, especially the OP. And that octane F6 with gold wheels, gold and orange together looks confusing. It's like wearing navy blue and black together, looks very strange.
  12. PM me if you want to insure with Allianz - I can waive our commissions and charge no extra for pay by the month. That said, you have to garage it at night, and the excess is $2000 for theft if you don't have tracking. All that taken into account, I still insured my car with RACV because it was cheaper...
  13. Gold wheels are for rice boys with STIs.
  14. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Falcon-FG-Sedan-MONROE-GT-SPORT-Front-and-Rear-Short-Travel-Shock-Absorbers-/281143641612?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item417577860c&_uhb=1 If you're trying to go cheap, at least get something like the Monroe jobbers. It will be a horrendous drive on the stock shockers.
  15. The 90s called, they want their wheels back. IMO the gold looks weird with all the silver on the rest of the car. And I think the square look of the FRs looks awkward against the round body of the FG. That said, you modify your car because it's what you like, not for the approval of others - if you like it, that's the main thing. Rednose, what exhaust is on your car? That exhaust tip is awesome.

I'm 27. And don't feel like I need a body kit to go fast.
  17. I seriously doubt Ford Aus are currently seeing the demand for a large sedan to bother going through the cost of importing and complying it. They'll probably import something to replace Territory with something like that Ranger SUV (which will just be another car they can't supply) and hope Mustang covers the gaps. I just hope they don't try and call them the FPV F6 and GT...
  18. Unfortunately mate you're buying a car from a cash strapped company, one that certainly can't afford to have the additional cost of manufacturing for extras like suspension swaps etc. I think the xr6 suspension is still a bit sketchy anyway, so either way I'd be looking at suspension mods, this is what I took into account buying mine. And if you have a modified G6ET you've got something a little different than the standard. There's just too many XR6 na P plate specials out there with horrendous wheels and loud exhausts ruining the XR image for everyone I reckon.
  19. Surely the sealed beam projectors would be a much better idea for hid's than reflectors. Hence why any car that comes with factory xenons have projector lamps. And I was always under the impression that you shouldn't bother using hid's for high beam as the ignition time does suit the application for high beams?
  20. Surely no one in their right mind would want the mk2 front bumper. If I bought a mk2, I think I'd retro the old one!
  21. Hi Guys, I've just recently obtained my G6ET 50th and was playing with my sat nav last night and noticed an option saying "tv tuner connected"? Is there a unit that is plug and play with this that anyone knows of?
