Well, it's done! We've had our special general meeting tonight and all the point were adopted, which means that our name is soon going to be FPV-Tickford Club of NSW, and at this stage, all BA XR owners can join as full members. Also, the criteria for associate members has changed. Now, you have to own a modified Ford Falcon to be an associate member. This is excellent news for associate members because it adds a bit of exclusivity to the associate membership. I'm sure Steve will come on later on and post something a bit more comprehensive but I've been itchin to tell you guys since I got home! hehe Nick

Mr Walker Oh yeah, very theoretical. Every tyre is different. As with 17" and 18" tyre size difference, you don't need to get the speedo recalibrated because you'll still be within the allowable limit. My car was doing roughly 105kmh @ 110kmh with 15s and 17s, and it's just over 110kmh at the moment with 19s. Most cars are overcalibrated when they come out of the factory.

stock Ford suspension has always been on the floaty side. a visit to rob herrod, whiteline (when they develop the new kits) or some other respectable suspension place should rectify that problem.

several points... 1. there's no chance in hell you could retain the same rolling diameter with 20s 2. they'd be sort of legal 3. they would make the car slower 4. good luck finding tyres! hehe unless you want the wheels and tyres for shows only, I wouldn't even bother with 20s. 19s would work magic on handling but not ride comfort. fyi - tyre size and rolling diameter in mm 235/45/17 = 643.3 245/40/18 = 653.2 245/35/19 = 654.1 245/30/20 = 655 whoa! I thought 20s would be too big for a Falcon - as in illegal. *thinks about the 20" raptor rims at work* hehehehehe

I got me a Sony MP3 head unit that plays normal CDs and MP3 CDs. I paid something like $800-900 for it back then so you ppl should consider yourselves lucky that you can get 6gig MP3 players for around half the price of what I paid. MP3s are definitely the way to go! atm, I have over 1200 tracks in my car! Now, show me a disc changer that can hold that many CDs. hehe

in the spirit of non-tickford cars with tickford badges on them (lasers, XFs, etc) whack some tickford badged and stickers on the car as well, and add some strobe lights! hehe nah, the car looks good! then again, I do like my falcons low, so I guess I'm biased.

Let's just hope they do a better job then the one they did on the AU.

I don't think ppl are going to have too many issues getting large power gains from the XR8 either. If the SOHC V8 outputs 220kw stock, the DOHC V8 didn't need much tuning to get 260kw out of it. I'll dare say, a proper exhaust setup should see the XR8 nudge the 300kw mark, because the manifold on the Boss 260 looks a little restricted in several places.
