  1. Nah, sorry mate - that review is of a manual BA. Will post the full article later tonite when I can scan it. Patience, my pretties. PS - 'tis a really good write-up. Man, what a car!
  2. Are you talking GT? Typhoon? T? Anyway, I'm with drcook.
  3. I've only got it in written form (from the paper) but will scan it in when I get the chance and post it!
  4. Was reading a review of the BF auto Phoon in Carsguide, and they quoted a 0-100km/h time of 5.3 secs. Is this the fastest time produced so far by a mainstream publication (as opposed to "forum" times)?
  5. Just had my 3,000km done on the Phoon. Got the oil and filter changed, even though FPV reckon it's not necessary. I'm a big believer in mid-service oil changes so will keep this up as long as I own it.
  6. Yeah, sorry - BF.
  7. A minor annoyance with the Toxic Beast was that the emission control warning light kept coming on. It wasn't flashing (so I know the cat was OK). A check of the book said that if the light came on, then there was a problem with the emission control. A trip back to the dealer found no problems logged on the data info, so they re-set the system, told me the car was sweet to drive and bring it back if it happened again. Of course it did. I kept driving the car (as emission control was not high on my list of performance priorities - and the service manager said it was OK) and the light would be on about 90% of the time. I pinpointed that the light would come on when the turbo boost kicked in. At the 3,000km check, they found that the problem was a loose intercooler pipe, have tightened it up and the car's sweet. Sooooooooo, the moral of the story is, if your emission control light is on more often than it's off, get them to check the intercoooler connections!
  8. My Phoon sits just under half way, too.
  9. Yep. Got a signature series performance exhaust on my Phoon.
  10. I am 6' and also find the lumbar support too high - it's halfway up my back, not near my lower back. I wondered if it had something to do with my side air bags that come out of the seats? Botom line is I find the lumbar support pretty useless as a result.
  11. Yeah - how did you get the badges off??
  12. Both BF Phoons, both 6 speed, both @6,000rpm. manual = 191km/h auto = 238km/h. Thank God I bought the auto. Best thing to come out of Germany since my last video.
  13. Why Zap? When I'm driving my Phoon, I want the whole world to know!
  14. I agree, man. Where's the passion for the product they're selling/servcing? It was like when I bought my Phoon - walked into one dealership and fely like I walked into a funeral parlour. What a bunch of of dead heads. It's not rocket science: 1. Passion for your product. 2. Competitive pricing 3. Fair dinkum, honest servicing. 4. Exemplary after sales service. Get with it, dopes!
  15. No way, man. Stick to your guns and give them both barrels. The whole episode is a disgrace.
  16. Go the Phoon... (but then again, I'm biased!).
  17. Love the Phoon. You will, too.
  18. LOL - Good advice, Oiksmurf!
  19. My new Toxic BF Phoon is due for its 3,000 complimentary service and I thought I’d share some random thoughts on the beast. The good news is that I have had no troubles with any build quality issues. It is safe and sound with no rattles, no bits falling off and no paint issues… The car is beautifully trimmed inside and looks really, really classy. The premium sound is fantastic and looks/sounds awesome. The purple lights on the dash are swish, too. Now to the important stuff… My God, what a drive! I love this car so much – it always brings a smile to my face. The 6 speed auto is sublime. The down-changes when braking are fantastic and, especially in performance mode, it is rarely caught in the wrong gear. You can feel the gear changes are more aggressive in performance mode and it mates with the engine superbly. Occasionally I will drive it in “manual” mode, just for fun, and this is great too, especially when you want to drive even more aggressively with the gear changes than when in regular performance mode. Best of both worlds. I love subtly driving up behind an SS or HSV on the freeway at about 110km/h, manually changing into 3rd gear and blasting past them to overtake. The combination of the speed, the exhaust note (aided by my John Bowe performance exhaust), the horny BF Phoon looks and the Toxic colour always gets heads turning! As much as driving on the freeway is cool, I LOVE giving her a blast on back country roads, where there is a mix of hills, dales, turns and straights. The car is made for this kind of track. It is beautifully weighted, has dynamite acceleration and pulls up on a dime (thanks, Mr Brembo). It is awe-inspiring, spine tingling, knuckle-whitening stuff. I can’t recommend this car highly enough. It is a beautifully put together piece of machinery. If you have never driven one – DO IT NOW! I can understand the rave reviews offered by Motor, Wheels and just about any other independent review. I’m in love… and she’s TOXIC.
  20. Hi all Some dumb questions: 1. What is a K&N filter? 2. What performance increases (if any) does it bring? 3. How does it boost performance (if indeed it does)? 4. How much do they cost? 5. Anywhere special to buy them from, or any old auto shop? 6. Are they an appropriate purchase for a Typhoon? Thanks!
  21. Looks great. As a side note, how'd you get a personalised plate with 7 letters? I thought 6 was maximum? T U R B O X R
  22. That ute would have been flogged harder than a teenager with a Penthouse.
  23. Here's a coupla pics of mine. Notice the capping placed on the ends of the grill where it's been cut. Perfect match for size & colour. and...
  24. Mate I recently bought a BF Phoon and reluctantly ordered a tow-pack... I didn't want it but definately needed it. Holidays with bike-racks/trailers/vans/boats/etc made it a must. I was really worried about it, but when I saw the job done (Allan Reekie Ford in Bowral, NSW) I was very, very pleased. They did an awesome job and I was as relieved as hell. Will post a pic when I get the chance.
  25. Hi all Just letting you know that I brought the new Phoon home last night. Pouring rain here so had to behave myself... but what a sublime ride. Awesome. Can't wait to get back in it! Will post some pics when the weather dries out a bit! PS - The performance exhaust sounds awesome.
