What Is The Best Colour
Just bought a new Phoon and got TOXIC! Wanted something different... Seems that all BA Phoons were Mercury Silver and all BF Phoons are Rapid. Why do so many people always buy the colour in the glossy catalogue? PS - Used to love Blueprint... it's now as common as a two-bit hooker.

February Motor
This quote is in an "outbox" entitled Second Opinion. It appears to be thrown in to balance the debate a little and seems to be based solely on perception, rather than anything supported by facts. The writer of this bit even admits this... Still the Typhoon never feels as ball-tearningly quick as the CS - and it was a big surprise when the boys reported the opposite from their accelleration testing at Oran Park. As I said before, they threw the Clubsport a few scraps (tyres, V8 rumble, presence) to help appease their Expensive Daewoo readership, inlcuding those who've forked out the best part of 70 large on a Clubbie. In fact, if it wasn't for the new Advan tyres, half the positive comments about the HSV could not even be written! Makes you wonder how good the Phoon would be with the same tyres?!?! They have said that the F6 is the best Aussie muscle car ever produced. An awesome result and HSV know it.

Phoon Exhaust
When I bought it I was told it would add "a half-dozen or so" kilowatts as the engine would "breathe better". I think this is the standard reponse. Perhaps someone more knowledable than me on this site can anser your query accurately. Improving the exhaust note is cool, too.

Not all dealers will provide the Bowe gear. Some provide Herrods. Many don't do any. Here's a link to the John Bowe Performance Website. Hope this helps.

February Motor
My take is that the F6 really hammered the Club in the comparo... for god's sake they crap on about the Club's tyres for 3 paragraphs. I reckon that when a car is relying on it's tyres (and HSV have changed from the Pirellis) for cornering, they are hiding something. The F6 is hiding nothing. The engine, gearbox, suspension and chassis is a generation ahead of the Clubsport and Motor, its readers and HSV drivers know it. They threw the Clubsport a few bones (tyres, V8 rumble, presence) to help appease their Expensive Daewoo readership, inlcuding those who've forked out the best part of 70 gorillas on an R8. They have said that the F6 is the best Aussie muscle car ever produced. Good enough for me.

Beause they wanted the best perfomred model in each car... in the Crapsport it was the manual, in the Phoon it was the auto. An auto Vs auto comparo would have been even worse for the HSV, methinks.

Got the new Motor mag this morning. They love the Phoon - called it the best Australian muscle car ever produced. The Crapsport gets some ticks, too, but geez it relies on its new tryres for grip, as opposed to the Typhoons "integrated package". A good read (if a little short)... Times: 0-60 Auto Phoon - 3.02 Crapsport - 3.04 Times: 0-100 Auto Phoon - 5.82 Crapsport - 5.78 Times: 0-160 Auto Phoon - 12.47 Crapsport - 12.72 Quarter Mile: Phoon - 13.95 @ 170km/hr Crapsport - 14.02 @ 169.8km/hr Threw in the 0-60 and 0-160 times for interest.

Phoon Exhaust
Yeah - I know the APS one is good, but the Bowe one came fitted by the dealer (after I ordered it, of course).

Phoon Exhaust
Pick up the new Phoon on Monday. Have a performance exhaust being fitted and have told the dealer that I want the stock Typhoon exhaust back (to which he said no probs). I plan on selling it, and have a few questions.. 1. Where is the best place to sell it? Ebay? Trading Post? 2. What kind of money do you reckon I'll get for it? 3. Does anyone want to buy it? PM me if you're interested! Cheers

Ordered The New Phoon Today
Getting really close now... Lease paperwork has gone thru, pick up from the dealer either Friday or Monday. Got a John Bowe performance exhaust, too..

F6 Price Bargining
True, Zap. But my advice for NSW buyers is stay away from Brad Garlick Ford in Ryde. Biggest bunch of tossers I ever met.

Ordered The New Phoon Today
No, j-bomb. This may sound like sacrilege to some on here but I don't like the Phoon 19s. I love the stock 18s.

Ordered The New Phoon Today
Hey, Zap. It's a John Bowe CAI... threw it in as a sweetener, I guess. My car is in the showroom! Awaiting the lease papers and it's there to be picked up (NOT used as a demo - just for people to perve at). Now that I've agreed to take it, he said he'd lock the doors to keep people out! Toxic - love it. Not everyone's cuppa, but something that my missus and I agreed on. If I ordered, was going to get the manual, but the auto in the showroom, ready to go, convinced me otherwise. Is yours manual or auto? Edit - just read your sig. Don't answer that last question!

Ordered my new Phoon today. Just awaiting the lease paperwork to go through... Toxic, tow-pack, floor mats, auto, cold air induction, very excited owner.

Where To Get A Test Drive?
Now there's a good idea... not allowed to use beer wenches at the cricket anymore. Some must need some quick cash.

F6 Price Bargining
Yep. No spats. My best quote so far is stock Phoon with tow-pack and floor mats for $59,000 on the road.
-
F6 Price Bargining
That wouldn't surprise me as I don't think mudspats are on the options list... but I asked and none of the dealers baulked at the request. I made an enquiry about a tow pack, and even though that is on the list, one dealer didn't want to put it on as he said they'd had trouble cutting the rear grill to accommodate the tow-bar.

F6 Price Bargining
I started collecting quotes 2day for a new BF Phoon I want in March/April. Stock standard except for floor mats and mud spats. The first quote I got was at Brad Garlick Ford (Sydney) for $65,800 (on road). Went to my local dealer who said he'd go down to $60,000 on road. Reckoned no one could beat that price for a brand newby. I'll keep you posted.

You know what I mean.

6 Speed Auto Does Quarter Mile In
The bit I love about this thread is that Tur was entrusted with his cousin's new Phoon to run the engine in... so he takes it to the track to run 1/4 miles in! Outstanding!

I always use Meguiars, too. Recommended to me and always looks great.

Driveline Shunt
Hi all I know this topic has been done to death, but I am looking to test drive a new Phoon in the next few days and I hope I can get some help with the infamous Falcon driveline shunt. I have never driven a manual Falcon of any description (have owned autos all my Ford life) and want to listen/feel for the driveline shunt I've read so much about here and elsewhere. Some questions relating to when I'm most likely to feel it... 1. Is it prevalent in the new BF Typhoon (manual)? 2. What exactly should I expect to hear/feel? 3. When is it most likely to occur? Down-gearing? Up-shifting? Slowing down? 4. Is it only found in the manual? 5. How bad is it really? Enough to turn you off the car? Thanks for your input.

Bmw M5 Verus Fpv F6
Maybe that's because it's an XR6T forum? I thought that'd be obvious. Here's my 2c worth... 1. The M5 is a better car. 2. The F6 is better bang for your buck. 3. Anyone who spends $240,000+ on a car needs to justify it somehow.
