Exactly what I was going to say, cops don't measure the track width, they check that the wheels are inside the guards and are done with it

but when you read the spec sheet on what the factory track width is, it will be taken from the center of each wheel and when you measure with your new wheels if it's 25mm wider then the spec then it's illegal Actually it has to be measured from the center because that is the center of the rim as well, cause stretched tyres or tyres that are to big will change your measurement and the centre of the tyre will always be on the same spot of the wheel

Track is measured from the center of one tyre/wheel to the center of the other tyre/wheel
