  1. Rumour has it they're not quite the 245kw either. Next time I'm at my local dealer I'll scope on out.
  2. Let's all put our hands together and thank George Dubya Bush and John Howard for this, for failing to sign the Kyoto agreement
  3. Associate with bogans and Late model camira drivers, and you expect more?? I'm perplexed ← Someone's gotta stop the bogan's handing the Ford driver's their arses down the drags They're all bogans, but we whinge when we read continually how the HSV's are quicker than the FPV's in the magazines? Now that's perplexing.
  4. Because it's what most people related to. I don't get asked "What lap time does your car do around Barbagello?" I get asked, "what times does it do?", meaning, how quick is it over 400m. Maybe then, a follow up question about the power it makes. As I said, like it or not, 1/4 mile times are what most people relate to, and how they judge the performance of a car. Simple.
  5. Simon, I agree with you, you'll get no argument from me. Brian's car/engine setup would have to be the best in Australia, bar none. I watch the results that are achieved from the XR6T's/F6's over the last couple of years, and see the same pattern occuring here as what happened with the LS1 folk some years ago. Back then, the crave was for high rwkw figures for unopened engines. Then came mafless tuning and the bar was raised a little higher. Then came the head/cam/stroker combo's and the power figures went even higher. Great, everyone is happy achieving big rwkw figures. However, because everyone was achieving big power figures, it didn't mean anything. What happened then was cars started running quicker times with lower rwkw figures; soon unopened LS1's were running 11's (albeit with good traction, some cars had weight reduction), and the emphasis went away from big rwkw figures to 'track-backed' results. And it's been pretty much the same since then. You know there are plenty of LS1's running in the 10's now, including Gary Pope's Turboed VE, which runs full street trim with a decent set of tyres. And while drag racing is not the only benchmark of the performance of a car, it sure has a lot to do with it. Looks at the Yanks - it's all about 1/4 performance times. The shops that turn out the quick cars, both here and in the US, are the ones that attract the accolades. Unfair, but that's how it is. Sure, I'm into drag racing, but no more than what I was with my older cars (I probably did over 200 runs in my VT). Racing the car on the street is a gamble; likewise turning the tyres in 4th and 5th gear is all nice and good until the cops see it and your car is confiscated or crashed. I guess my take on this is to achieve a good result (track or strip) for the least amount of money. Having said that, the development of cars like Brian's benefit everyone in the long run. I'm impressed with the Nizpro kit, and so much so, APC Wangara are starting to turn out of heap of them now, because the kit's work so well. You'd have to be happy with that
  6. Different world...... Different Universe to Adams car. C9 with a stripped interior Vs engineered, 'Complete Package' Sorry to INFLYT, but there simply is, NO comparison to be drawn between these two cars, and you know it.. 'er I'll drop the green stuff on the table that says Brian would OWN INFLYT on the road.. ( and 99% of cars ) ← The road doesn't count
  7. Why don't you get the tuner to dyno it? You'd be better off paying for a custom tune, something like your car with a stock setup should cost no more than $150-$200, plus dyno time, provided your car is in good working order. Expect around 230-250rwkw depending on how good your fuel system is.
  8. How quick is it? Doesn't Adam still hold the record of a 9.9 something with around 450rwkw's in his white XR6T?
  9. If you get a reply please cut and paste it to here.
  10. Rob, Check out this web site http://www.707.adastron.com/default.htm It will tell you everything you need to know about the return of VH-XBA. I'm disappointed I missed the return of her by a month, but it gives me another excuse to jump on a plane and head to Longreach again. Like I needed an excuse anyway . The wing tour of EBQ was great, got to see the aircraft upclose, including the avionics bay, cargo bays, cockpit, main fuel tank, rear tail section and cockpit. The size of these aircraft is amazing. Qantas have regular 743 services from Perth to Sydney and Melbourne. QF580, QF648 and QF802 come to mind, and are daily services. Gotta get my arse to TCNM sometime soon to take a couple of those photo's as they fly overhead.

I believe: 1. They run the same conrods as the LPG engines, which are similar to the F6 rods. I heard the F6 has a different small end, but cannot confirm. 2. The valve springs are uprated to a heavier duty set than the early turbo, but don't know if they are F6 spec.
  12. One more from St. Maarten - Princess Juliana airfield in the Netherlands Antilles. One of my favourites, me standing on the wing of VH-EBQ in Longreach end of last month. And dinner on the way home from Sydney to Perth, Business class on a QF743.
  13. We have a similar venue in Perth, conducted by MC Motorsport Performance Driving, V8 Super Rides. Basically, a stripped out SS with a cage and Like Zap F6 said, if you have a decent T/F6, you'll find these rides pretty ordinary.
  14. Great post Robin. So what this item does is allow the turbo to build boost faster as there is no bleed off from the factory solenoid to the wastegate unit. Is that how it works?
  15. That the gearbox starts off in second when rolling to a stop, then accelerating and downshifting to 1st is a common problem. Referred to as Lurch. Creates a large amount of complaints for Jag and BMW dealers. I think it's a pain in the arse, and would prefer the gearbox to always take of in 1st, and only in 2nd when I manually select it. It can be rectified through the software but ZF wont do it.
  16. Only just noticed this thread, but, that's a damn good result. You have to be happy with that. I've started exercising, my goal not to lose weight, but to change shape. 8 weeks later, I've only lost 1kg weight, but 8cm around my waist. In turn, I've gained cm's on my arms, chest and legs. I do weight training (have done it in the past, so is easy to get back into again), and stick to a strict diet. No carbs after lunch, plenty of green leafy salads, vegetables and meat, fish and chicken. Oh, and the mandatory protein drinks. I try to have at least 200gms of protein per day, and use supplements (no steriods) too. I don't mind the protein drinks, but the supplements (Like Musashi's Recovery) taste like , and the diet is trying at times. Worth the results though, and makes me feel good. I can't imagine how bad people who are grossly overweight must feel. They'd have to have low self esteem.
  17. Lol, now aint that the truth. We read of facts about coolers, without any facts
  18. Australian Performance Centre, Wangara.
  19. Great converter. After having tried numerous different cats this is the type I've settled for. Just need to get the thing installed when I have the time.
  20. Jeezus, talk about trying to put up a smoke screen. Sounds a bit like the 'facts about cooler' thread on the other forum, without any facts Technically, they are a Siemens/VDO injector. Excellent injector! Mine have Mototron, and GAS006 stamped on them.
  21. Mal, I've access to a dozen plus factory heat shields through Arron. IMO, probably not a good idea to wrap the cat in one; you want the heat to disapate as fast as possible. Give me a call on Monday, I'll probably be able to sort a cat out for you, and a set of #42 injectors at a good rate. Jason.
  22. CAPA don't 'HAVE' to support the ZF?? If they 'Choose to', it's a benefit for the ZF guys, isn't it?? Why don't you fly to Germany and hook up with Franz and go through your issues with him, I'm sure he'll be sympathetic.. Just make sure you stop in on the U S of A and talk to SCT to get things sorted for you on that side, then sell them.. 2 weeks should cover it?? ← On the contrary brother - yes they do.
  23. Maybe it's just me but after learning to mafless tune my GENIII with LS1 Edit with a dirty big 239/251@0.050, 106lsa cam (without using STFT/LTFT histograms) and no help from anyone, I find the SCT Advantage easy to use. I guess I'm plain lucky. Simon, if you have the new CAPA software on display at your dyno day I'll make an effort to head over for the day to check it out, if that's ok.
  24. as you know, the ZF trans has its ECU mounted inside the trans itself. From what I understand, they have to develop a flasher unit for the trans. You can however, make the ZF shift firmer by telling it the cars producing more torque but yes, you dont have the control over it like you do with the 4 speed, as that's controlled by the pcm.. d. ← Agreed, and at this stage it's one of the only methods know to increase shift firmness. I'd like the ability to alter the shift/lock schedule to lower my shift points. As this cannot be done yet it's one of the reasons I shift manually when giving the car a hard time/racing.
  25. Ok. Here's a functionality question. CAPA/SCT, when the *beep* are we going to see support for the ZF 6-speeds? With over 80% of the BF Turbo's being auto's, it's about time support is offered. Frankly, until the ZF support is released for the SCT V2.9 and V3.0 software, I really doubt the ability of CAPA/SCT to support any other product they release
