Great day down the east coast today from the boat. Roads between Launceston and St Helens were brilliant fun. Perfect weather and a clear run for the most part with traffic - only traffic was on the boring straight bits. Port Arthur ghost tour tonight - will tour the place tomorrow in the daylight then off to Queenstown tomorrow via Hobart and the Cascade Brewery. 600+ kms today Only issue I've noticed that could impact a group cruise has been fuel. 95 seems to be the only fuel that's reliably available (thank f*ck I got the 95 tune when I got the gas put on - gas run out when I hit the coast). Haven't seen a single 98 PULP and only a single LPG outlet. Lots of places don't even have 95. That said - I haven't been through any of the "main" towns where the options appear to be available. Any planned cruise would need to take the fuelling needs into account. Food's great, scenery is brilliant and the locals are fantastic. The roads alone are worth the trip. West Coast will be even better :D

Watched the 1st few episodes of the 100 ages ago and gave up - seemed too teen "Hunger Games" audience focused. Gets better? For some light watching to fill the gaps - if you like Archer, Brickleberry, Bobs Burgers etc look up Ugly Americans (excellent), Crash Canyon & Border Town Each are only a season or 2 long, but similar vein.

The Vive has a camera to let you see real life, but it's more like a window, doesn't work with the game view, moreso just to let you see the desk/room etc without taking off the goggles. Needs to become a mix of VR and augmented reality (eg Google Glass, Microsoft Hololens) to get to that level. edit: Sony is ready to release one for the PS4 too. HTC Vive has the backing of Steam, Occulus has Facebook backing them. Some games will be "exclusive" to the certain "store" edit2: plus..... pronhub has just released their VR pron channel

Keep in mind - the hand/wheel/coke etc was merged into the gameplay in post - he couldn't see his hands while he was playing

I saw that on the FB group - are you able to give me a quick rundown of why I might need one?

That looks fantastic. I've got the developer kit of the Rift - and it's friggin awesome for racing with. Only thing that takes you out of the immersion is the disconnect of having no actual hands/body etc when wearing the goggles. The HTC Vive is meant to fix a lot of that with the controllers that come with the system - Rift ones are meant to be "coming soon" Have done many laps in Assetto Corsa, iRacing and Project Cars. Bathurst and Phillip Island in VR is a totally "real" experience compared to even the best sim setup The way he's green screened it so it shows his hands in real space is definitely the way it needs to go to take it to the next level. I'll definitely be jumping on board once the systems have matured a bit and there's proper support from the developers/games.
