  1. As another year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to sincerely thank everyone who is part of the FordXR6Turbo.com community. We’ve now been around for over 23 years, and during that time this site has proudly been the home for XR6 Turbo and FPV enthusiasts from all over Australia and beyond. From the early BA days through to today, this forum has grown into something truly special. With over 64,000 registered members and more than 1.5 million posts, the knowledge, experience, and history stored here is incredible. Whether you’re researching a first build, chasing tuning advice, diagnosing a problem, or just enjoying the discussions and banter - chances are the answer is already here because someone took the time to share it. That willingness to help others is what has kept this forum strong for more than two decades, and I’m genuinely proud of the culture that has been built here. Running and maintaining a community of this size does come with ongoing costs. For those who would like to help support the forum, we offer Donating Member Subscriptions, which go directly toward keeping the site online, maintained, and running smoothly: 👉 https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/subscriptions/ We also have official FordXR6Turbo merchandise available for anyone wanting something a little special — whether as a Christmas gift or simply to represent the community you’re part of: 👉 https://fordxr6turbo.printify.me/ Support is never expected, but it is always greatly appreciated and helps ensure the forum continues to be available for future XR6 Turbo and FPV enthusiasts. On behalf of myself and the moderation team, I wish you and your families a safe, happy, and relaxing Christmas, and a boosted New Year ahead. Thank you for being part of the journey and for helping keep the XR6 Turbo legacy alive.

  3. Hey mate, The part number 3R23-7000-AC is from a naturally aspirated (NA) Falcon - most likely a BA XT or Fairmont with the standard BTR 4-speed auto. This is not the correct gearbox for an XR6 Turbo, and it won’t hold up to the torque of a turbo setup without internal upgrades. For the factory XR6 Turbo BTR 4-speed, the correct transmission part number is typically: 4R23-7000-AC or 4R23-7000-AD These were fitted to BA and early BF XR6 Turbo models before the switch to the ZF 6-speed. The "4R23" prefix is key - it designates the upgraded unit suitable for the turbo engine, with stronger internals, revised clutch packs, and a higher stall torque converter. So unfortunately, if you bought 3R23-7000-AC expecting a turbo box, it’s an NA unit and not suitable unless you plan on doing a full rebuild with uprated parts. I'd definitely recommend getting your money back if you were promised a turbo trans.
  4. Hey everyone, After more than 23 years of history, builds, and good banter, FordXR6Turbo.com has been given a long-overdue refresh. The aim? To make the forum cleaner, faster, easier to navigate, and more aligned with today’s users - all while keeping the content and community spirit that make this site what it is. Forum Overhaul: What’s New? 🗑️ Removed Inactive Areas Sections that were no longer being used - like old vendor areas, expired merchandise threads, and empty regional boards - have been retired. These added unnecessary clutter without contributing meaningful content. 🔁 Merged Similar Topics To make browsing and posting easier, some related forums have been brought together: Turbo, Intercooler, and BOV → now under Forced Induction Workshop ECU, Fuel Systems, Induction → now combined into Engine Management & Fuel Systems All 300+ to 700+ rwkw “club” areas → merged into a single High Power Builds section Group Buys → integrated into the Classifieds & Group Buys forum Focus & Mondeo XR5 → combined into Euro Turbo Fords 🗂️ Event Areas Reorganised Cruise and event forums have been streamlined into key regions: East Coast → NSW, QLD, ACT Southern States → VIC, SA, TAS Western & Northern → WA, NT New Zealand remains open for future use 🏷️ Clearer Forum Titles & Descriptions We’ve tidied up the names and labels across the site to better reflect what each section is about. Examples: “UTEopia” → now Falcon Utes “Multimedia” → now Media & Projects “Suggestions / Problems” → now Site Support & Feedback A Fresh New Look — With a Familiar Feel You’ve probably noticed the new logo and design. The site now features a cleaner, more modern layout with simplified navigation and improved mobile responsiveness. But we’ve kept the original theme and spirit that long-time members will still recognise - just with a fresh coat of paint. We’ve also updated forum icons and visuals throughout to make things feel more consistent and easier on the eyes. Donating Members — Simplified & Upgraded We’ve retired the old multi-tier system (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and launched a brand-new Donating Member subscription with all the key perks rolled into a single tier. Benefits include an ad-free experience and: 🎖️ A new Donating Member badge under your posts 📩 Increased inbox capacity 🖼️ Larger avatar and signature space 🛒 Access to the Classifieds, Photo Gallery, and Donating Members Lounge 🔓 Unlimited forum search & posting flexibility 💬 Recognition across the community All previous donors have been respectfully moved into a new Legacy Donating Members group — your support over the years remains acknowledged and appreciated. 👉 Click here to subscribe and help keep FordXR6Turbo.com alive and thriving. 🆘 Got Issues? If you’re experiencing trouble with your account or anything forum-related: Please don’t post publicly — instead, submit a support request here so we can help you directly. 🙌 Thanks for Sticking with Us This update is about more than just a visual refresh. It’s a long-term commitment to keeping the site relevant, functional, and fun to use - while continuing to celebrate the incredible community built around the XR6 Turbo and FPV platforms. Your favourite build threads, workshop how-tos, and history. They’re still here. Only now, it’s easier than ever to discover, contribute, and connect. We’ve got more planned: 📚 A new Resources Hub is underway 🎨 Paint code and model history pages are now live 🔧 More tools and content to come for the next generation of XR6 Turbo fans See you in the forums - and thanks again for being a part of the legacy.
