1.
don't need any adapters on a BF or FG, just cut and shut. BA are different and would need some modding of pipes
So will fit a stock exhaust?
Add injectors will make a big diffference.
Got to do it in steps so I notice the difference, if I do everything at once I'll get used to it too quickly!
2. What size are the stock pipes on a BF and I assume an adaptor could be made up to fit one of these? I had only planned on cat, F6 snorkel and tune.
3.
Anyone be interested in a group buy on high flow Ballistic Race Cats? Group buy list: Dillon
I might be in, let me know what ends up getting decided if the numbers are getting close. I'm stock at the moment, so open to options on size and it'll sit for a while until I can organize tune, rest of exhaust, etc. Think I'd be happy with 3 each end. Only after about 300rwkw max.
4. You might have to make do with a normal bullbar too. Not sure if the good ol' boys have figured out how to attach a Mack one yet.
5. I understand what you are saying but getting the kilometres travelled shouldn't be a priority over safety. I know that's not what you are insinuating and I'm not saying truck drivers are bad, blah, blah, blah. I'm happy to let a faster vehicle pass as I set my cruise and if I'm faster I'll overtake you but if I'm slower I'll let you pass, but I'm over getting tailgated when the speed limit drops. A few times a week I travel the highway in central QLD, and there's a couple of roadworks areas where I can be half a km or more in front of truck and slow down, or coming through a town and I end up getting a truck up my ar$e by the time the limit goes back to 100. Not all, but SOME do this, and some get so close I can't even see their headlights. If they wanna be dic&heads I'll keep slowing down until I feel the speed is suitable for them to pull up if something comes out in front of me. I've had plenty of things come out in front of me over the years from deer to kids to Grandpas in their Coronas. I'm not too keen on my kids not having a father, and if my family is in the car I'll slow down to 5 if I have to. Now, in saying that, there's dic&heads in every industry, company, club, country or anything that give a bad name to all, so don't take this as a general rant against all trucks. After all that, it's not just trucks that do this either, there's dickheads in every vehicle possible from bikes to trucks to cars to boats. (I'm sure plenty of you have seen them in all of these, I have) By the way, I have an MC license, motorbike and car, and the best training regarding this came with my bike license. They were meticulous in teaching about braking distances, etc. To finish, we all want to get where we're going as quickly and as safely as possible. Just remember, it doesn't matter how good a driver you are. It matters how good the other guys is, and that's never a good thing if you've seen some of the fools on the roads. Drive safe everyone. Forgot to say, well done to both those drivers for avoiding what could have been much worse. And I drive past that very spot 3-4 times a week.
6. Yeah, but when's the delivery date? Guy at work upgraded his 2011 Ranger and signed in early Feb. Picked it up last week! And that was only because one became available in a different colour. Was going to be mid-June!
7. From Plastidip's Distributers page: TOOWOOMBA Bolt and Industrial Supplies 393 Taylor Street, TOOWOOMBA. QLD 4350 Sales pH: 07 4634 6944 email: [email protected]
8. They're beautiful to drive. I've got one of the last of the old shape and a rep at work that they moved over from NZ has one of the new diesel's. Reasonably quick too for what they are. Not XR6 or FPV quick, but for a big vehicle they're better than what you expect with all the torque and the 6 speed. I'd have one! If only Ford didn't make them (if you know what I mean). Being a fleet car we have to use Ford servicing.
9. Bit late, I know, but do it while you can. I still regret not buying a Bathurst HK Monaro for $14K 15 odd years ago with less than 30K km. Mmmmnnn Warrick Yellow with black stripes too! Bloke had a Bathurst in HK, HT & HT and were all stored for more than 20 years. Still had original dealer sticker and books. Or the XC Cobra for $300. (was in sh$t nick but would have been worth the resto costs.) Once you have a house and kids you struggle to find money for toys, no matter how much you earn!
10. G'day mate, been having a read through the thread for the first time. Was about to say how good the powder coated rims look and saw your post. Think I still prefer the old ones, but time for a change eh? Think I'll pinch the idea for the powder coated but maybe use that plastidip stuff first to see how it looks. Should be ok with the yellow on mine. Were they just black or matt or dark grey? Good looking car and goes hard by the sound of it. Not a fan of the hockey sticks myself, but you didn't put them on to please me!
11. I'm gonna try the Transmax. Guy at work's neighbor is the Castrol rep for Bundaberg and he's seeing how much he can do it for for me. Retail was $300 for 20L. Even that's a quarter of the genuine price. Worth a shot I reckon. A few guys on here have mentioned problems, but others love it and a few have big numbers coming out of their cars. Does anyone think if non-genuine is used it should be changed more regularly?
12. Yeah, was gonna do that, but I live in Bundaberg. Not exactly thick on the ground around here.
13. Hi guys, was wondering if there was an actual difference in sizes between XR, GT and F6 front bar sizes. What I mean is, if I were to put an F6 or GT bar on my BF, without changing suspension, would the lip be any lower and by how much? Not sure if it's just suspension differences that make the FPVs seem lower or the lip itself.
14. Bionic, can you pm to me too? Going by first dyno sheet it's Redlands somewhere. I'm in Bundy but am an ex Redlands boy and make regular trips down, there doesn't seem to be anyone in Bundy that I'm aware of.
15. I still can't get over how "easy" it is to be getting these sort of numbers for a street car that's still easy to drive. It was only 15 odd years ago it would have been something like a 351 with massive cams and carby to get anywhere near these numbers and it would have to be a pig to drive! Oh, and congrats on the numbers and car overall mate. Nice looking ride that goes hard, hmmm, now just to convince the missus!
16. What's the diff between them in XR6T? As best I can see, different shape of bottom opening on front, 6 speed auto and extra 5 kw. Any other differences apart from wheels etc?
17. Mine's an October 2005 BF Mark I. (ZF box). Vin starts with 6F but not sure if that means anything or not.
18. Nice rotor mate, looks like a lot of rotor love on this forum. I had an RX7 series 3 with 12A bridge and my mate had what was at one stage the fastest non-turbo street rotor in Oz, high 12s on 13B bridge with standard locked diff and RX5 box. Was the engine out of SelectMaz's sports sedan racer. Stamped "SELECTMAZ BP01". Mate got it tuned and dyno'd when he sold it. 274rwhp. Was good fun at the time, but we're talking 15 odd years ago now. God I feel old!
19. Suitable, not approved. Sorry for being pedantic, but big difference in whose ass is on the line if something goes wrong.
20. Whoops, missed that too. Auto headlights are sh*t anyway, never come on early enough!
21. I used to get that with my old BF work car. Didn't have anything to do with the headlights though. It was the boot. I wouldnt have opened it for a couple of days, but all of a sudden it was basically saying it wasn't closed. Open and shut it and it'd be gone. Do you sometimes get beeps inside to say a door is ajar?
22. Guys, see if the's a Castrol distributor in town. I rang Autobarn and asked about 20L drums and they told me who the agents were. Mind you they quoted me $300 when I've seen guys down south say they paid $240 odd. Works out about a quarter of the price I was quoted for genuine.

24. Yeah, but there's a difference between "suitable" and "approved" isn't there. I'm sure this has been through their legal department before the poster was made!
