when mine "popped" under boost, it was coils. Replace all 6 though with GENUINE Ford ones and ask them for their best price. I got min for $52 each from memory. I had 145,000kms and the problem never returned. GoodLUCkk (in Taken voice)

Hey, Just wondering what is the best way to store a used turbo. (gt4094)? Is it as simple as just spraying it all over and inside with WD40 and taping up the inlet/outlet? What about bearings...Will they hold up ok? Looking at about 1 year maybe a tad more. Cheers, Josh. PS: Searched google & this forum. No useful info.

Exhaust manifold bolts - Nip up...Dunno if they're as useless as the ones on BA/BF models.

Yeh I see your points..As it turns out after contacting Spool. Their rods won't work together with the standard pistons anyway. So he cancelled my order. Not sure what the go is there considering I Pm'd a guy on here about how he did the exact same thing.... Ah well. 400+ on standard bottom end here we come!

Ordered a set of Spool Conrods & Plazmaman Valve Springs today. I've seen a couple guys on here who have just replaced the rods by themselves with no other internal work.. Can you get away with doing this (One of these users did it with Spool rods and said it was fine, had no hassles) Sort of the direction I'm looking at going down

That particular turbo was his preference if I chose to upgrade.. Not sure of the exact reasons, but the gtx being laggier was one of them. 400+ is pushing the standard turbo from what I've read.. Getting another turbo wasn't about the engine (yet). The car requires a better exhaust manifold for my Tuner to keep pushing it and so I decided to switch turbo's to one that won't be ringing its neck off at 400+. I'm real happy with what Jem's done for the car so far, so if he says GT4094r would be his pick, then that's fine with me...I'm not the one tuning it.

So this gt4094r would have a 3" intake yeh? If so, how do ya go about using 4" piping? Do you just have a 3" to 4" on that end or something

Haha does the volume matter really? To me - Not in the slightest. It will be going on the car regardless over 500mls... And to be honest, Maths was never my strong point.. So rulers & calculators will not be coming into the equation to sort this one. I can't be stuffed filling up the 2L water bottle in my fridge in summer, let alone a petrol tank

The bloke wrote "from memory 2.5L" so don't get too upset Bellato you could still be correct when it turns up...Not sure how to test the capacity though. Either way it's a good buy Next, some valve springs, even though mine are perfect I may as well bite the bullet! Hoping to get away with 400-450rwkw without opening engine. Pretty positive this BF1 has the LPG Rods going by the valve springs performance @ 150,00kms and 350+ rwkw for a while now

Thanks mate, good advice there. I will do some homework on the gtx4294r. I Just want a bigger turbo that will make more power with less effort basically.. I liked the gtx3582r as it basically bolted straight up to the standard manifold, but my Tuner said it will be laggy. So from what they told me, if I change the turbo and go the 6boost manifold I will need intake & dump pipe tweaked to fit. Does the standard gt3540 rear housing match the gtx3582r does anyone know??

Real happy with the car but as it needs a retune anyway after I do surge tank, I've decided to relocate battery, add 4" intake, surge044 and send it back to Jem for a 6Boost manifold and retune. Was also keen on the gtx3582r but my tuner said the standard turbo has more in it with the 6boost coming. And that he would personally go with a GT4094 if I were to upgrade. PS: Damn the power bug!

Engine/Mil light is a fussy b!tch.. Mine came on the other week after I put a better cooler on with bigger piping. The oxy sensor didn't appreciate the car running at lower temps after that and the retune last week adjusted those sensor settings and haven't seen the light since! I've been in the exact same situation as you, but you will be guessing what it MIGHT be all day long until you get a tuner to sort it out

Got bored and figured I'd make use of 1 of my 4 spare intercoolers. And finally ordered a matching oil pressure gauge to put below pod

^^^ So if this valve is not functioning, can you just double prime it for better start up?? Mine is having issues getting enough fuel at start up & I had no idea what it could be until you posted that last comment.. New page - That'd be right!
