De-mystifying The Ba Black Oak Ecu
no he wouldn't, he wouldn't have a clue!!! (he's just a tuner, not a programmer or electronics engineer) Actually I got a phone call from a mate (Another T owner)who's over in the UK today (to wish me happy New Years etc.) he was telling me that he has 2 cousins working for Ford in th UK, one designs floor pans/chassis for cars & the other does the design integration for the PCM (Black Oak & the likes). He was half pissed, though he did say he had the email address to keep in contact with both cousins! I will see what comes of this. Also we're thinking of distributing another flasher that can be done direct from PC, as a drive in drive out tune with the option of a hand held flasher for those who just need base upgrade& want to reflash back to standard later. Imagine direct flash from PC with the ability to log data like manifold pressure, fuel/air, etc.etc. At this stage nothing is certain, but we're working on it. Russ

Yum, Just Trying A New Brew!
Mate honestly, I use Woolies/Coles/Bi-Lo Lager & Draught (they're all from the same manufacturer) & use either Body Brew or Brew Booster. Sometimes I'll brew up a brewiser wheat beer. I never use sugar as I find it tastes crap. Do you use kegs or bottles?? Russ

Thought I'd share with u guys, I've just tapped a new keg of lager & it tastes fantastic. I haven't had a chance to put a brew down for 6 months (had another child) & tonight I tapped a keg of lager. I'd forgotten how smooth this stuff is & how easy it is to drink. Anyway, here's cheers Russ

Kmart Racing No More!
It was on sports tonight, Kellys old man owns the team! I didn't realise that sheep shagga had moved teams! You can't blame KMART, Tander & Kelly are nothing special! Apparently the 5 year agreement is up & KMART don't wish to renew. Russ

Mate Set Me Of Fire Today
Did anyone hop back into the car to get something out?? Sounds like static electricity, could be anything. nylon sirt, shoes etc. People don't understand how volatile fumes can be, especially in summer when there is a lot of heat & moister in the air! I saw on TV once a women hop back in her car, when she went back to pull the nozzle out she'd built up a static charge & the car caught fire. When you grab the nozzle it earths you out, I'd assume there would be a resistor built into it so it doesn't spark! Russ

1/4 Mile Virgin
Go & do some practice launches on a back street where there is no traffic, you'll get the feel of the car the more you launch! I have an auto so I can't tell you about what revs to build up to, but anything over 2000 rpm will be good. Just as long as it is in boost when you leave! I don't even look at the dash, I just hear & feel the motor. Works for me. Russ

Dyno's
What we need in this forum is a tutorial section, where people like Dynowog can write up tutorials on things like how a dyno works & what all the mumbo jumbo means. We could all use this as a reference when speaking dyno talk! Other tutorials could be the GEEA CAI, Centre muffler etc. Over in FF they have how to remove the front & rear end of a BA. Just a thought! Russ

New Xr6t
You need to get used to driving a turbo, as it needs to spool up the turbo before it takes off, it's a bit harder to get used to in an auto as u can use the gearbox in a manual to compensate for it. But for drag racing you need to launch above 2,000 rpm. Mate I've been driving turbo diesels for years & I know where the max torque/power range is as you need every kw/nm u can get! Russ
