Give Nissan their dues, they do produce top performing 4 & 6 cyl motors & are way ahead in technology as all the Jap manufacturers are compared to Aussie built cars (sheer volume of sales allows them to dedicate the $$$) The FJ20 4cyl produced from Nissan has had some awesome results here in Australia & has been doing low 8 sec passes for over 10 years. I've had mine off for ages with no ill affect nor any difference in performance. if anything it goes better as it has a better air flow for the motor. As for aero dynamics, that's just bullsh*t as it has FA effect. Russ

Throw some octane boost in it, pinging (pinking) is when there is too much air in the Air/Fuel mixture or basically the fuel mixture is not rich enough. Too much will cause detonation (Very Bad) The edit you have is tuned for the fuel you were using when you had the tune done. the tuner hasn't allowed for much variance in octane, which is not good. I bet the drivers complain about the track condition!! Turn 1 is as rough as guts & hard to keep it on the track, the back straight is also rough. The whole track needs to be resurfaced & Rev Central are too interested in ripping off spectators & competitors. Can't wait to see the action, TV is the go for me as I can't be stuffed waiting in traffic & paying top $$$$ for V8's (Unless it's Bathurst) This may well be the last V8 supercar race at QR for a while. Bringing this from another thread. Ok, who has the quickest stock internals T in Oz. By this I mean untouched engine including turbo. I feel modded trans should be ok, seeing as the Ford Auto won't handle 400kw very well. We should break it into 2 categories 1 Fully Modded T, anything goes. Only requirement is they must be an XR6T VIN & must retain the 4.0L 6cyl. Any mod allowed, trans, rods, pistons, balancing, lightening, diffs, NOS, turbo etc etc. 2 Unmodded engine internals, bolton goodies allowed, must retain original turbo & motor. (Inc factory pistons, head, crank, rods etc) No oversizing or balancing. mods allowed are trans (To allow for 400kw), IC, injectors inlet plumbing, plenum, exhaust from turbo back (No headers) This will split it up to those who have the modded family driver & have a limited budget to those who will spare no expense to be top of the tree. Who ever has the most coin to spend, brembo's/Alcon, proflex, race tyres etc.etc. These old buckets are built as a mum's taxi not a racecar! The reason they are only concerned about 1/4 mile is because they don't have the coin. In circuit racing the car is the cheapest part & to run these things you'd need to budget at least $100,000. A mate of mine this year alone has spent over $35,000 on his Improved production Subi. That's just the damage bill, not including tyres, fuel ($5/litre), tuning, race fees, accomodation etc. Also there should be 2 classes to compare Xr6t's down the qtr mile. 1st class unmodded internals, with modded trans (as long as it's original equipment) & bolt ons 2nd class fully modded, anything goes, rods, pistons, trans, diff etc etc. Just need to be xr6turbo Russ

.zcf is with the custom tune files, I believe these have to be converted to .xtr if they were to be loaded onto the flash tuner by the end user. Russ
