Just an update, Went to City Ford in Zetland on Tuesday to get the xr6t reflashed. Only cost $132 which was the cheapest I could find (cost of 1 hours labour). Upon picking it up I was told that it was already running the standard tune and was completely up to date except for a faulty battery which may be causing the problems. Grabbed a new battery and the problems still there. Really unsure what to do as I've had the car on a dyno a while ago and found it was running 8 psi for 230rwkw so is not on a standard tune. I'm thinking that they may have only scanned it and not reflashed it like I asked in which case should I be taking it back to them? Not happy

I'll hopefully be selling it in the next month or two so don't really want to spend the extra money on a custom tune, would rather save itfor the next car. Also I thought selling stock would be a bit easier

Its running really rich and fouling plugs. Now its also struggling under load but its got newcoils and plugs in it and the abs and brake warning light will flicker. Yeah I just thought I'd heard somewhere had done it cheaper and I'm a bit worried that a few dealers are saying its not possible or the maps dont exist anymore for a 2004 model or it may need other stuff done as well. A bit confusing and I've heard some horror stories about ford servicing on here so am a bit nervous haha

I've got a ba xr6t which has started to have some issues. Got it on a dynoand they think the tune is playing up. When I bought it I was told it was stock and it is only recently that its started playing up (struggling and thebrake and abs lights flicker sllightly). Seeing that its likely to be a generic tune I want to flash it back to stock. Called City Ford in Zetland and Titan Ford in Brookvale and they wanted $135 and $160 respectively for a reflash. I would retune it using an xcal but I'm looking at getting into an fg soon so not really worth the extra money Does this seem a bit steep or is it resonable as I thought it would be less for such a short job?

Yeah. There were a couple of social clubs organising it. They'd set up a few pre meet spots around sydney and had the event for a few months. All that planning gone, feel sorry for them

A big (300+ attending) cruise to wisemans ferry was recently cancelled due to the police contacting the organiser and stating that he needed to get insurance for the cruise otherwise he and the car club would be held responisble for the behavious of individuals on it. I've never heard of this before but apparentely there's laws enforcing it. Has anyone else heard about this and what size cruise is considered to need insurance. I think its ridiculous, if you're gonna act like a F&^K you should be held personally responsible instead of things like this happening

Yeah coils or plugs. Mine was doing the same till I replaced them. Just hope it doesnt keep recurring like mine :f*ckyou:

A few fg xr6t were going through the sydney auctions this week with expected prices around 18k. Worth a look if nothing else I reckon

What do you all think about buying cars which have had either a bottom end or complete engine rebuild. I've always been a bit suss about them but after seeing the amount of forum members who have been fine with rebuilt bottom ends, on BAs in particular, it's got me guessing twice. I seriously don't get why you see so many cars for sale which have had rebuilds less than 5-10k km ago. Dodgy rebuild or trying or recoup some $$? Opinions please

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I dunno why the hell he would buy that. He asked me what to buy a week ago and I said to look into cai's and exhaust stuff, comes back with that.....

Got a mate who has just bought an external wastegate off ebay for his r34 gtt auto. The car is stock except for a boost controller. He's got no idea about it so I said I'd ask on here. Is he gonna do any damage by installing it and will he need a tune? I'd definitely be looking for one with a good service history first and foremost. I saw that f6 on carsales but was turned off by it being tuned by envy. Pm me if u want cos I dont want to rag on them on a public forum but have heard some shocker stories about them, they do have the quickest ba though...

Charged the battery and car started up no problems. As tab said the code did clear once the car started up. Can't have helped that its been sitting dormant for 2 months until I get my licence back. Thanks so much for the help

Charger broke after few minutes cos someone left it out in the rain. :banghead: so I'll grab one off my mates tomorrow after work and give it a try. Thnks for all the help so far and I'll let you know how it goes

Just tried disconnecting the battery but it didn't work

Sorry if this has been covered but I did a search and it wont allow "code" to be searched and other words drew a blank. I've had a12inch JL audio sub and kicker amp installed in my ba xr6t today and when I tried to turn the car on the radio said "code" on the icc screen. I tried it again and the radio played for about 30secs then turned off again.If I try and turn the car over to move it (as its blocking my parents drive) it just makes a clicking sound and wont kick over. I'm assuming the icc has enabled the immobiliser until I get the code but I cant find it and ford are closed till monday :banghead: Is there anyway to get the car going or somewhere I can get the code from? Thanks
