Had previously used Penrite Syn (SIN) 5 but went back to Mobil 1 as I founf the Perite appeared to discolour very quickly which does not appear to be a factor with the Mobil. Not really sure any of the decent oils make much of a difference anyway. Dingah

Disagree and so will Simon (nizpro) 0.9 is fine is une is up to scratch - 13psi happy with 0.9, starting and idle spot on. Dingah
-
2005 and earlier F6 plugs are exactly the same plug as the XR6 Turbo. Dingah
-
If your tunes right 0.9 and that's appears just fine for up to 13psi. Dingah
-
If it's valve springs then dripping your boost levels should remove the problem...if you have a lower (7-8psi) program try that and see if there is any difference. Dingah

Thanks Ninka - I should have looked at that thread before posting - certainly agree with your sentiments on the handling outcomes - have you fitted a stiffer rear bar? Dingah
-
Errr sorry happy to try and provide but pics of what as there is nothing to see with normal ride height and a sway bar is about as photogenic as Nick whatyoumacallit on a hot day. Love that Avatar Dingah

Quite happy with the Pedders coil-overs.....fitted front only. Maintained standard ride height as APS Cat already close enough to every speed hump but they provided more damping and front end control without again being overly firm. Sway bar certainly compliments them. Ride height and ride quality are each a personal thing and whilst I am extremely happy with the ride and handling, others may prefer something lower or firmer. Also aware that rear shox built to budget by Ford and might need attention in future but so far I am fine with them. I'd probably do them first before considering rear sway bar but generally the car is operated with only zero or one pax so rear 'issues' at this stage. There is an adjustable bar also available but left that alone as did not want be caught with a 'fiddling' option - this way it's done and can now be left alone. Dingah

Had Glen at ESP Racing fit a new sway bar to the front of the T yesterday - a CAPA supplied Whitline front swaybar - non-adjustable.....BFF21 BA Front Swaybar, 27mm Diameter priced at $143.00 A little apprehensive when I saw how much thicker and heavier it was compared to the original but one drive quickly showed this to be by far the best suspension bang for the buck spent so far. For less than $200 the big arsed Turbo now drives like a far smaller car. Despite the best attempts of Canberra roundabout architects who seem to delight in cambering every change of direction the wrong way, the T now feels neutral through all of the bendy bits and takes FAR more effort to induce understseer. Thankfully the compliance of the suspension and ride appear unaffected (it has Pedders sports coil-overs on the front). Thoroughly recommended and thanks Glen and ESP Racing . Dingah

Those lasers operate (as do nearly all commerical and Defence lasers) at an eye safe fequency and neither you, I nor they are at risk from exposure to it. Dingah

Recently completed some laboratory trials of some detectors and they shove out soooo much signal out the antenna they are all VERY detectable. Last time I recall the fine was in the order of $1300 plus confiscation plus points. There is no such thing as a stealthy detector to the police systems used in Oz. Potentially not a sound decision to play those games, they have a significant range advantage over you...regardless of what claims are made by the OEM. Dingah

That plumbing is hardly a work of aesthetic beauty but let the numbers speak for themselves.....how's the drivetrain handling it all so far? Dingah

DaRKy...mate are you certain its from the rotors and not the handbrake assembly at the rear which is notorious for rubbing/squeaking. I ran the same combination of DBA slotted and RB74 for a fair while with no squeak before I did the PBR upgrade. Only slight drawback I found was that the RB74s are better for some heat in them which makes the first cold braking a bit hard for the missus. Ultimates cured that. Dingah

Well done mate. What was the cost on top of your other mods? Dingah

Easiest way I found was to dump your collection onto an iPod and use an FM interface rather than the cable to cut down the background whine - has anyone found a better way to do this? Dingah
-
No quite true but agree your sentiments guys. THe graphical interface for VCM Suite is light years ahead of the CAPA Edit....that would likely have some impact in some tuners' favour, but familiarity with the car, its software and the many, many variables and their quircks and interactions is what makes the real difference....and the Edit has been around long enough for some to develop a real appreciation of what can be done both safely and not so wisely and that takes time. Dingah
-
This has been a bit like the APS Edit saga as the VCM Suite was supposed to exist at the beginning of this year some 5 months ago........? Add to that the months of trial and error by new operators and you might be better off thinking Edit my friend. Dingah

Remember in the early days of the XR6T the waiting lists were long with not dissimilar groans of frustration being heard..... Dingah

It's more a function of boost pressure and revs rather than power. I could run 280RWKW with APS Phase II but with the Edit raising the boost to 12.5 rather than the 10psi used with the APS Phase II, above 5000 RPM one or two of the springs found it hard to cope. Thus I'd advise going ahead with the tuning and see if and when the springs become an issue and then make your decision whether to press on and get the springs changed or keep the pressures/power below the precipitating figures. That said FOR MY T (BA MK 1) at or above 5000RPM on the 309RWKW tune, changing my springs made a 70RWKW difference. Dingah

I use the Ferodo DS2500 for sprint/competition days with my DBA 4000 Series rotors, and use Bendix Ultimates for daily driving with my stock rotors. The car has the performance brakes, not standard brakes. ← ....now that's the way to go! Dingah
-
Try RB74s from Racebrakes for fade free and almost dust free performance - little hard when cold though. Dingah
-
Agree the above advice. To meet your requirements just changing the cat out for a decent one would suffice. Dingah

If fuel gets to $3 a litre, no one will be buying petrol cars, unless someone else is paying for it. I know if it does I'll be on public transport or investing in a moped. If fuel was to be that expensive can you imagine how that will affect the price of general living like groceries and off the shelf products ← Utter rubbish. The net cost of fuel to the consumer has doubled in the last three years and driving habits have hardly changed at all. The general public and comics like the Courier Mail and the like are full of wind and never follow up their whinging with action. This is more than a little surprising when you think that someone doing 20, 000km/year in a car that consumes on average 12l/100km would need to find another $75/fortnight in after tax dollars to fund the additional costs of that mileage if the price for fuel rose to $2/litre....which incidentally is what many of the oh so health conscious yuppies will willingly spend on bottled water for fear of dehydrating between the car park and the office! Dingah

I was forced to run a brand new flashed stock tune with the Bosch 968s fro a couple of trips around town after a much earlier tuning 'mishap' and aside from a little uneveness at idle the car ran really well - needless to say that any dash readouts related to fuel useage were incorrect. Dingah

If it's going to Nizpro there is little point in wasting your time fishing for suggestions here - if Dave cannot sort it then neither the forum nor Ford will. Of greater interest is us all learning what the symptoms were and then after the Nizpro visit what the diagnosis and cure was. Good luck with it but your are in safe hands....and say gudday to Dave and Ryan for me when there. Cheers, Dingah
