  1. Penrite fully synthetic has an extremely wide SAE rating unmatched by others and is about $75 for 5 litres. If you pause a moment and consider what your oil has to suffer and how seminal it is to the life and health of your engine are you really going to skimpo for the sake of a few bucks where the difference in price equates to four NSW schooners...? Dingah
  2. Hey TurboDewd, recommend you dont try the citric acid one's as they can get awfully playful and mean! Dingah
  3. Try Penrite 10/10ths Synthetic it has the widest SAE ratings of any commercially available motore oil. Covers cold starts and extreme heats by a wide margin. Dingah
  4. Hey JB how's it going? Some strange and unexplained things happened the other evening to my access level with the original address - rather interesting as I note that we do currently have an amateur hacker on the forum.... Moderator's please note. Anyway I had to set up another address and then two days later all was well with the original. Not too fussed about the training wheels ident as it gives me even more of an excuse to make dumb comments and have people react in an understanding manner!! What's with your cockpit scene - is that representative of your profession?..... if so PM me and we must get together as it's mine. WIll be driving down to Melbourne in September to allow Peter at APS to do springs and injectors whilst I am attending a conference in the city. Maybe we could christen the mods with a couple of beers. Best of luck with the diff - we are all waiting with baited breath for you to put 1000kms on it this weekend and then watch the rush back to the dealers. Though I still don't believe that my dealer really understands how your dealer has addressed this issue. Cheers, Dingah (1&2)
  5. Sorry mate already on its way to Adelaide - you guys are faster than the bloody networked computer that I battel with here. Dingah. Give Cam a PM and he'll do a job on your switches for you.
  6. Not wishing to undermine anyone's efforts to make a buck here but due to own lack of communication have ended up with an additional illuminated drivers side window switchblock which will plug straight into XR6T socket and provide blue up/down switches and red 'auto' logo on driver's switch. Rather than pay $140 at the parts department you can have this for far less via express mail. Please PM me if interested. Dingah
  7. Had a high capacity Davis Craig auto trans oil cooler fitted with Unichip. It is fitted in-line with the current system so in effect it significantly increases the cooling capacity of the current system without chaging the flow paths. THis means less heat is being expended into the radiator heat exchanger which is already a heavy duty XR8 radiator (standard fit on all XR6Ts). Searched for darn recipt and nothing found yet. Was about $500 fitted with new Penrite fully synthetic fluid. Fairly lengthy job requiring front end removal and replacment. Regret no photos as the front area is a tight fit to ensure that it is in the airlfow along with intercooler, radiator etc. It does not appear impact the airlfow to radiator sufficiently to show on running temp. This was fitted as a precaution to assure longevity of transmission system as opposed to addressing an established problem. You can Pm me if you need more detail or where fitted. Dingah
  8. Cro: There maybe a difference between 'legend' and fact here? A 'stock' T (if there is such a thing) at 240FWKW due to transmission losses, under 'perfect conditions should theoretically achieve 187 RWKW. I am not here to dispute the claims of others but that is the calculated probability. Less than 187 RWKW with a fully run-in standard auto T under normal 'ISA' conditions could be cause for concern as it then infers less than 240 at the flywheel which is below 'ddisgn specification' - a very hard fact to prove.
