Best V8 Bonnet Option For Bfii F6... ¿
hotxr8 replied to MADF6's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
Just had a aftermarket xr8 bonnet supplied, painted and fitted at the local panel shop, $730. It's a BA, panel gapes are good, fit is good, and it vibrates no more than the genuine one on my wife's BA XR8, or my mates BF XR8! And the guys at the panel shop said that for a aftermarket part it is quite good panel thickness wise. -
Would it be possible to remove it from an original non flip key, or are they a different shape?

New Chmsl After Removing Spoiler
hotxr8 replied to knowhereman's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
Get a DJR spoiler copy off ebay, they cover all the holes, fitted perfectly and colour match was spot on. Oh, and they look tough. -
Sorry, new key to on. I got mine done at mister minute.
-
It's first key to acc, second key to on! New key to acc.
-
One more I'm doing the dash spears next.
-
Here you go guys.
-
Seems to be ok in the engine bay, I've done the inset on top of the airbox, and the body of the earls inline turbo oil line filter, no probs 2 months later.
-
thanks for that!!
-
Did this on Saturday, now I don't get the hesitation going from off throttle to on throttle (and back) at low speed (up to 80kph) in higher gears. (5sp manual)
-
Who did you buy it from??
-
Work permiting, I'll be there
-
Love your work guys!,
-
Stupid me, can't use photo bucket properly. I'll try again.
-
Liked the combo so much it got it for myself, I picked up the springs (with shocks) off a guy I met outside of a chemist , (Thanks Jamie!), who owns a fantastic looking Mandarin? BA XR6T. then grabbed the wheel and tyre combo off eBay thanks to this thread.

Anybody Else Running Transmax Z In Their T5 Gearbox?
hotxr8 replied to NickBA-XR6T's topic in Driveline Workshop
I put transmaxZ in my ba xr6t not long after I bought the car, made a heap of difference with much nicer gear changes, especially when cold. I also run it in a t5 I have behind a 351c in a XE, made a big difference in that and no issues in the year and a half that it's been fitted, it gets a fairly hard time too. -
@ Ale, what are those rims called? thanks. Don't worry, I've found them.

Failure Of Inline Turbo Oil Filter (Earls)
hotxr8 replied to arronm's topic in Forced Induction Workshop
I received my kit from fittings2u early last week, it was the crimped one, I gave them a call and explained that I had purchased from them because their kit was the only one that was a screw fitting, (as pictured in their listing) and that I didn't want a crimped one as they are know to leak, the lady I spoke to said she would organise a screw fitting kit for me, 2 days later it turned up, with a preadressed post bag so I could send the crimp one back to her. great, friendly service. -
Failure Of Inline Turbo Oil Filter (Earls)
hotxr8 replied to arronm's topic in Forced Induction Workshop
I wish you guys had started this thread a few hours earlier, I'm waiting for my earls kit (from fittings2u) to turn up. read the forum early saturday morning, so missed the start of this disscusion, didn't get back on till now, sunday arvo I made the purchase, with plans of a full service to the car later in the week. not sure what to do now. -
That will be part of the service, I've already grabbed one of the braided line ones off ebay, just waiting for it to turn up. Pulled the dip stick yesturday, and the oil looks good, and dosn't smell burn't.
-
Oh, ok. It's a BA XR6T, 5speeed, all stock, 140k, only ever had logbook services, so I assume 15k oil changes.
-
Thanks for that, I"ll be doing a service in the next week or so, I've used nulon in the past in both my other cars, and after some reading on here, I'll stick with that.
-
Iv'e owned a na BA 4.0l and have a BA XR8, and iv'e allways used a engine flush at oil changes, do I use one with the XR6T? Also, what oil do people recomend? thanks.

Hi all, been a member for awhile, but never posted, I own a BA XR8 in blood orange, hence the username, but ive now picked up a BA XR6 Turbo, in Citric, so now two great cars in the household.
