Mine goes in for a tune in July, tuner said he should get 290-300 rwkw with the same mods that you have stated. Its a big difference standard between a Mitsubishi 380 and a XR6T. I came from a 380 VRX.

If you can get a independant inspection on any used car. I was in the same situation as you are in now. I wanted a BF but after looking for 6 months and every BF I got inspected had issues, either been modded or just a lot of small problems and the fact most wanted mid 20k mark for them. ( I was looking at cars no more that 80,000kms ) I stumbled upon a BA MKII that was a 1 owner sunroof 65000 klms serviced every 7,500kms and the same shop that had inspected all the cars I had looked at advised me to buy it ( which I did) as it was in faultless condition mechanically, body and interior and was a very good price.He advised me a good BA is better than a dodgey BF. And this is from a Tuner who is a sponsor.

In my late teens early twenties I had a worked XE 6, was always pulled over and hassled/defected. In my late 20s to early 30s I had a 11 sec 81 Falcon looked standard didnt sound standard. I never got hassled even pulled over in Bondi at a large booze bus no problems didnt ask to pop the bonnet the only comment was the Tacho may need to be dropped down a bit.It had dual 3 inch stopped at the diff. And that was Eastern Suburbs Highway Patrol(notoriously hard). I couldnt believe it so I asked why he wasnt hassling me and he said your a older guy, respectful, with a nice car, its a bit loud so what. Coppers dont even look at standard looking/sounding turbos....

Im mid 30s wife etc. Dont take it to stupid places and the outside /inside under the bonnet will look completely stock.

Hi, Getting a tune very soon and have most parts for it, Im chasing 280rwkw on a BA MKII. Th tuner warned me that the cat may restrict me a bit. Would one of the Magnaflow 200cpi metal core cats be okay for this power level? And what size would I need to buy for the standard exhaust. I will have a PW stage 1 intercooler, valve springs, injectors f6 lower snorkel and BMC filter and a herrod fuel pump going in. I know 100cpi are better but will a 200cpi get me there.

mate I saw one on ebay the other day.. It was $899 used.

Installed the BMC Panel filter this morning it was easy to do up the air box, might of made them a bit thinner nowadays. No real change just a bit more induction noise but definetly no quicker, but will be soon once its been tunehoused.

It sound like ball bearings turning, (skate board wheels) shouldnt be gravely/harsh type sound. How long Ive never timed it. Most of the time I dont hear it either with traffic and other noises. But in my garage it sounds so loud but that's just due to the concrete floor and brick walls it magnifies the sound.

I dont know about intune but I would recommend Tunehouse , I havent got a tune there yet but the service they did transformed the car. They arent the cheapest but you get what you pay for......

Installed the f6 snorkel this arvo took me 30mins easy as. Even the front bolt was easy. Took it for a drive no difference what so ever with the standard filter slight more induction but that's it. The BMC panel filter comes in on Saturday so will see if that installed makes a difference. I know when it gets tuned in July that this stuff will help.

Im having the same problem. I will be buying a Rapid stage 1 intercooler when I get it tuned so if it wont fit behind I have to find somewhere else. Probably behind spotlight but just wonder how much air flow it will get as I dont want to remove the spot light. Also does anyone have a part number for the B&M coolers that are best for these cars?

they are genuine ones but I should say its not that loud but you can definitly hear it humming. That would drive my wife mad she has very good hearing unfortunatly

My mates is loud and a guy at work complains about his walbro pump as well, but like you other people say they cannot hear it. With my luck I will end up with a noisy one.

Im getting the herrod fuel pump, the walbro in my mates car would drive my wife mad which she would drive me mad with how loud it/she is. Im getting valve springs and injectors but the tuner is suppling those. I want to keep the stock air box just with the lower snorkel so it needs to be a panel filter, just want to know if there are any alternatives to the two I mentioned?

Hi Guys, Im in the process of buying all the parts I need for when I get my BA MKII tuned around June. I have got the second F6 Intake, speedflow turbo oil line, a Xcal3 and Im looking at intercoolers now PW or Rapids. What air filter should I run some people reckon K&N and BMC dont filter enough is the standard paper element ok or are there any other brands recommended? What are your opinions?

Mate , go to a sponsor tuner and get them to go over the car before the warranty runs out. I went to tunehouse they went over the car like you would not believe. Only found 2 small things but when I turned up with the tunehouse report at the ford dealer they fixed everything perfect as I told them it would be going back to be checked by them that the work was carried out properly. It was done properly.

I will be getting a tune there in the coming months. No you wont need a re tune for a transmission cooler that I know of. Im just accumilating all the parts cai, intercooler,xcal 3, transmission cooler and a turbo oil feed line. Only the intercooler and transmission cooler to go. Let us know how you go.
