  1. I originally had them hooked up so they were a constant brightness and found sometimes that they were too bright, but changed to the other wire and they do dim but opposite to the dash lights Shane
  2. I used that wire as well and I found that it worked the opposite to the dash lights meaning that the brighter I had the dash lights the duller my boost and oil pressure gauge lights got, is that how its supposed to be? Shane
  3. Well done johno for your first time out and for winning the bet! And top stuff sutty on your 11.4, that's a new pb for you isnt it? Shane
  4. Great work mate, hello 12 sec club for you lad, well done. ← Thanks johno, honestly never thought a 12 was on the cards but im happy as a pig in sh*t! With the k&n and 2nd cai you will get a 13 ....and with only 2000k's on it. Have you thought about removing the centre muffler as well? Probably wont notice much difference power wise but it will sound a bit better, ive got the old centre replacement section from my ute if you want it Shane Shane
  5. Im glad I stuck around johno had my 2nd and final run for the night at 10.30 after another couple of oil downs. But I got a new PB, 12.95 @ 109, im still not sure that its right though......im starting to think the time clock stuffed up or something? Its .36 and 2.5mph better than my previous time and im not sure what wouldve made the difference, maybe it was the cold weather! Shane
  6. Mate, I dont think there is any offence you wont lose points for. Even doing a u-turn where theres no sign will cost you 3 points! As far as I know, they dont even mention points on the tickets do they? Shane

yeh mate I bought mine from ford last week for $210 ← Dont suppose you would have a part number rednuts? Shane
  8. I feel exactly the same way! And have recently changed to castrol edge 10w60 Shane
  9. I had my ute edited at power torque, they were really professional and helpful but most of the good workshops have to be nowadays. Tune wise, im pretty happy, Only had a high idle issue when cold which they fixed for me without any dramas. Shane ← These guys do great work... they are absolute geniuses with the LS1 ← Agreed, if I owned an ls1 which never will happen I would take it to power torque Shane

  11. ummmmm... maybe a turbo whistle ← A v8 with twin turbos would do it for me, but unless I win the lotto its never going to happen Shane ← agreed that'd sound sik and then id be sik when id have to fill her up at $2/ltr ← How true, ive got the sh*ts with paying a $1.30 a litre and using a tank and a half a week Shane
  12. ummmmm... maybe a turbo whistle ← A v8 with twin turbos would do it for me, but unless I win the lotto its never going to happen Shane
  13. Just rock up mate, you have to bring a helmet with a visible AS sticker on it and long pants, long sleeve shirt and covered footwear and then your ready to race. I think its about $34 to race and that gets 1 passenger in as well. Shane
  14. Most of the quickest T's in the country are owned by members on this forum and if they havnt come across this problem (unless they're not telling) then it sounds like One would think that the higher powered cars that get driven hard would be the first to encounter these sort of problems, and I for one havnt heard of any. Shane
  15. I dont think you will have any trouble beating a 14.3 johno. Traction control on (didnt know the new utes had it either) Havnt tried the handbrake idea yet Leave auto in performance mode and let it do the work Let some air out of tyres (around 24psi should do the trick) stall her up to 2000revs a bit more if you can and away you go! Yes mate, willowbank is the closest for you and you can go on most wednesday and saturday nights when they have a test and tune (check their website) Let me know when you go and hopefully im able come along for a look. And finally I reckon for first time out a 14.15 would be close Shane
  16. If my 192 rwkw stock 4 speed auto can get 13.9, then you should be able to break a 14sec timeslip. Should being the opertive word. Don't forget it's a ute. ← Id say if everything turns out perfect (nice cool weather and good traction etc)when you race it you could get a 14.0 or even a high 13. My ute (BA series 1 Auto) when nearly stock except for a k&n and cai had a best of 14.1 @100 with 188rwkw, but that time was in winter and dyno run in november Shane
  17. Ive been running yokohama es100's and pretty happy with their all round performance. Theyre only a fly sh*t cheaper than the advan v03's so ill be trying them next time for sure. Shane
  18. Id definitely be interested in them too jeff, its a top idea Shane
  19. Only had 2 runs with best of 13.31 @ 106.?? from memory, I know its not fast but im fairly happy (just got to get off the line a bit quicker) Its a ute with a custom tuned edit, K&N and center muffler removed. Run was at willowbank Shane
  20. Had a similiar situation, got a tune done in november last year and springs were ok. Just went for a check recently and they were getting a bit tired so got a set put in (thanks Ian) and all is good. Didnt get a retune and got a p.b at the drags last night. So id say you dont need a retune, it will just pick up a bit of power up top if the springs are fuc*ed Shane
  21. I done my ute recently with just a normal spring compressor, it done the job but it probably wasnt the right tool for the job (didnt fit the best). But if you dont have access to the tools your probably better off getting some pro's to do it......doesn't take long and you dont have to get your hands dirty Shane
  22. Twin 2.5", pritty sure they are only twin 2.25"! anyways agree with every one else unless upgrading to 3.5" don't do it! 3.5" dump, 3.5" cat, middle muffler removed replaced with 3.5" to diff and you sound like a boat out water but it's a free flowing zorst! that will make plenty of pwr and make you over boost and experience what limp mode feels like every time you tromp it untill you get it tuned! ← yes mate you are right, they are twin 2 1/4 stock Shane
  23. www.rocketindustries.com.au, theyre an australian company mate in nsw I think. Try 02 88251900 When the funds permit I would like to get the nexus gauges to replace what I have, I think they're good sh*t Shane
  24. I too have got the xr8 snorkel, I didnt notice a hell of a lot of difference but it cant do any harm. IMO it would be hard to pick a 5-10 kw gain, mainly because there are so many other variables that could influence what you feel. But in saying that it would definetly be the first mod that I would do Shane
  25. Ive tried both, got my best 1/4 mile time with the k&n so I kept using it but it was more likely track conditions that made the difference Shane
