The What's Pi$$Ing You Off Thread
Well some good news, I got a compensation cheque from Western Power - I thought it was a bill at first - for $80, due to the over 12 hour outage we had 2 weekends ago, so that covers the SSD. Now I just have to find where I put the dual drive caddy. Thanks for the heads up on the dual exhaust insert info too.

The What's Pi$$Ing You Off Thread
Bit of an up and down day today. Firstly mum was in tears of stress as Centrelink were mean't to call and we noticed the home phone battery had died so the base wouldn't ring. She then spent the best part of an hour and a half on her mobile in the queue before she could get a request through for the guy to call her back. So whilst waiting for a call back, I took her out and said if they ring the mobile, tell them we are heading out to get a replacement home phone. We then dropped in to the RAC so I could confirm she is covered when driving my car - I told a little white lie on that one but still checked so she wouldn't know the real reason, lucky I did as she wasn't on there. I then paid out the rest of her loan - it was only just under $600 - as she has been stressing for ages about Centrelink covering her rent and internet and nothing else, man the look on her face was worth it Then we went down to Harvey Norman and I got her a replacement phone, that has the power outage "protection" feature - basically the handset uses it's own power to power the base, so no more worries for her then. So I headed down to Monsta Torque to book the car in for a service and to let him know I needed stuff checked, as I have this reasonably high pitched whirring whenever I accelerate - really noticeable on low speed acceleration until I take my foot off the accelerator - plus it really idles roughly and sometimes shakes the whole car but there's no fault codes coming up and I've replaced the plugs, cleaned the throttle body plus had the fuel filter replaced in the last 6 months or so, plus he thinks maybe the turbo bearings are going, so all that was a downer. Then I got home and noticed the computer was sitting at insert media....after a reboot and checking the BIOS the boot SSD couldn't be found....however after powering the PC off for 3 hours it's back, as all my documents, videos, favourites etc redirect to a 3TB HDD, I'm fine, except for my Google Chrome stuff, so I'm transferring anything I cannot find on the D: to both D: and also copying my D: documents, photos and everything else to an external USB drive in case it's the motherboard controllers dying.

Imagine what the painter thought, as all the railings for each individual floor are being painted. Would you term that hazard pay? Well I'm mean't to wait between 11:00AM-2:00PM for the electrician, my batteries @ 26% & I'm getting hungry, so I hope he hurries up.

Funnily enough I live in West Perth, unfortunately like they keep finding when overpaid underperformers in gummint make stupid decisions like tbey did with buying properties in East Perth (a relatively affluent suburb) and putting Dept. Housing tennants next to people that have worked hard to afford to live there, it often ends with stuff being stolen or trashed by people who just don't give a damn about other people or respect other people's property, hence why most Social housing is way up north in Alkamos or down South in Greenfields or Coodanup (near Mandurah) & are soon to be moved out even further to Pinjarra.

That's the problem when more than a third of the 36 units here are Depart of Housing tennants & about 80% of the rest are backpackers & other tourists. I've seen heaps of stuff dumped over the years. Cars are a big one as they buy bombs & just return the plates back for whatever time is left on them for the refund. Then L J Hooker takes 5 months to have them removed due to red tape etc. from Vincent council. The last two cars were picked apart by Aborigines, I know because I was washing the car and watching them to make sure they weren't eyeing my car up for parts.

Ok so I've just arrived back at the unit & I kid you not, there's what looks like a *beep* on the ground just outside the lift.

Congestion is a big issue with wireless, then there's the fact that no-one wants a wireless tower near them because (sarcasm incoming) it causes cancer, it devalues my house by 50%... When the Libs. touted wireless as better than FTTP and one of Murdoch's papers did "testing" to show it, people blasted it all out of the water, because they didn't test between buildings or in certain weather conditions, which both cause all sorts of signal issues. Wireless is good as a last resort technology, look at any country currently doing a "high speed" rollout and it's predominantly using wired technologies, hell even the wireless towers hang off a fiber link.

Yeah no power to wall sockets. What really sh!ts me is the complete lack of feedback though. The building is from the 1960's (built to hold athletes for the Commonwealth Games in 1962 I believe, as Beatty Park is across the road) so I'm really hoping it's an issue at the power distribution board area & not any internal wiring at fault.

One reason I stand behind getting the NBN FTTP built (as opposed to the quite wasteful & stupid MTM mix which the Libs agree is a precursor to upgrading to FTTP anyway, so why f*n do it you overpaid underperforming muppets?????) is because with mining & construction basically screwed, the only way to differentiate ourselves is with technology, so give us the goddamn tools to do so. I'm on Tapatalk as Western Power didn't even bother to turn up yesterday & closed the call & today didn't xall me as asked & closed the second call as being all OK, when I still have no power to wall sockets since the storm on Sunday. So no computer & no way to charge my phone.

He was visiting at the time, his mum lives here, his old man has worked in Saudi Arabia for the last 20 years for the UN, he gets bored easily which is why he hasn't retired yet. His mum doesn't live in Saudi, as she gets bored there and it's not a very nice place for women in general. Usually they keep UN workers etc. in guarded compounds which limits where you can go and what you can do, also women are not allowed to drive there. Also being Saudi all the internet traffic goes through the University too, so not much gets through, unless you go satellite, hence less choice in what you can browse. I remember asking once if his old man had seen someone get their hand chopped off, there's a place they actually call Chop-Chop Mall and he's only ever been there once and never again, this guy is ex-navy and was on HMAS Sydney when it sunk, so he's seen things. Maybe I should have said they have an open marriage just to see what happens

Talking about my dad, I gave him a HP Intel i7 PC we decommissioned at work earlier this year, nice little machine with 500GB SSD, 8GB's and will probably outlast him. As you do when you replace a PC for family, he asked for his data to be transferred, which I did. OMFG he had a folder in there with past girlfriends he had made tapes with. Let me just say finding that stuff is way worse than my mate - the GoT sex scene fanatic - walking in with his mum on top of his dad (this happened a few years ago when he was about 37) by infinity times infinity. Scarred for life doesn't even begin to explain it. See my avatar for the appropriate response at the time before it changed to a look of disgust.

You must live a sheltered life if you think it's only 30% My dad is 70 and always seems to find new sites, which is bad because most of the P0rn sites tend to have the drive by malware attacks, even the biggest family of sites has been found to sometimes be infected, it's all because the advertising companies don't check what they put up for their "customers". Then there's mum who always seems to FW: FW: FW: FW: (repeat about another 50 times) emails about Bill Gates giving something away for free, I upset her once by doing a Reply to All the Snopes link, she went off at me for embarrassing her in front of her friends, but I expect they were more happy someone finally did it and they didn't have to.

Got my mate hooked on GoT after he started watching the first episode of season 1 - I'd already seen the whole season but played dumb - and after the first two sex scenes he was all "this is awesome" and it went from there, he now downloads it before I do, hence why my TB plan only ever hits 300GB's most months now.

Not sure if anyone else in Perth lost power last night, but on the way home from looking at houses, I decided to drop into Spud Shed for the weekly food shopping, then got home around 5ish to a completely blacked out unit. As I had been using the phone heaps to find these places, the battery was below 19% but I managed to check Western Power who stated 9:45PM for resumption of service. As I wasn't hungry I went to bed p!ssed off that I should have left the shopping until after work today. Woke at 1:40ish with still no power and the current update was still 9:45PM 19/06/2016. Woke up at 5:00 dreading having to put my contacts in to candle light (phone had died so no flashlight) and finally about 20 to 6 I have lights but no power to the fridge etc. Check the power board and there's heaps of smart meters blinking away but no switch to flick for the wall sockets. So I hope to hell those came on later and I don't have a fridge and freezer to clear out tonight.

I'm too much of a turbo noob to understand if that's a legitimate comment or a lady bits joke.

Would your's include the flapper mod too? "highly recommended wastegate flapper modification has already been carried out with the housing itself professionally CNC ported and the OEM-spec 32mm port and flap upgraded to a higher-flowing 37mm setup"

The funny thing is AusPOST also owns Star Track and uses the same drivers, who I have never had not deliver to me. The last few times I bought using Express post, I also got carded whilst at home, the lazy b*stards CBF pressing the button for level 4 on the lift FFS? So if there's a courier option, I use that from now on, at least the $10 - $12 difference gets it to me. Don't even start me on AusPOST's tracking with there nothing being updated for a week and then it turns up or says "On-board for delivery" for two days in a row.

I'm actually finding this thread pretty educational. I've been thinking about what to do with regards to upgrades for a while now and will be talking to Rob next month, whilst it's in being checked for the service. I did some looking around at prices to go from the stock FG turbo to either a GTX3576R or the GTX3582R and some places are selling them for only about $700 difference So I found this unit on "special" (http://www.pacperformance.com.au/news-9032/garrett-gtx3582r-ford-falcon-xr6t-turbo-upgrade.aspx) and if it's the one in this link (http://www.pacperformance.com.au/products-10806/garrett-gtx3582r-turbocharger-ford-falcon-ba-bf-xr6t.aspx), I'm really thinking of going the 3582 for extra overhead, as I won't really have much money to spend on the car once I'm in debt paying off the house. They say in the sales spiel: "The Garrett GTX3582R available at Pac Performance comes equipped with a brand new exhaust housing, meaning there is no need to re-use the factory housing which often is fatigued due to age." "Another bonus of purchasing the Garrett GTX3582R turbo as a complete package is the highly recommended wastegate flapper modification has already been carried out with the housing itself professionally CNC ported and the OEM-spec 32mm port and flap upgraded to a higher-flowing 37mm setup; helping to rectify the common over boosting issues often seen. The kit also includes a custom CNC folded actuator bracket meaning no more dodgy-looking cut & shut jobs." "As mentioned before, the foot print of the exhaust housing is the same as the factory housing allowing the Garrett GTX3582R to bolt straight onto the standard exhaust manifold. Not only does this keep the install relatively hassle free it also helps to keep the upgrade low-key in your engine bay. " They quote $2,895.00 (GST Inclusive) + Shipping for the unit with the Turbosmart actuator. As I have my wish list including a Jonny Tig cooler, valve springs, updated fuel pump/s (depending on what Rob recommends), airbox and the usual supporting mods, if you wanted to go 450KW and be done with it (I doubt very much I would ever go E85, so it's going to run 98 ron), is this the best way to go, considering my needs are pretty basic and I won't really have much extra per pay to waste rectifying things in the event I've under specced something else?

E85 on the Barra Turbo: Tuning, Fuel System & Results
Isn't there a known problem with the lines coming out of the Falcon fuel pumps getting eaten away?
