I use the same Penrite in mine and also noticed a huge difference in quietness and also smoothness, no clunking for example.

Apparently there's video of the pile-up on The West's web site. There were some young fella's cruising down Leech, up Orrong and through the Polly pipe on the way home from Phil's yesterday. Although the blue 6T I saw was a little slow off the mark, I'm guessing the power to weight ratio was out of wack with the four big kiwi's in it.

The Earl's kit arrived and everything looks to be there, so bring on Sunday. It will be interesting to see Stever cleaning out his intercooler. I've read somewhere on the forums that someone recommends doing it every 6 months and recommends a spray that AC mechanics use, that from what I gather helps breakdown the gunk between the fins and you just spray it out with water then.

Just had both front power window switches replaced to see if they fix problems with both power windows being dead, they didn't, however they did fix other problems with the existing switches so I'm still relatively happy. Are the FG power window regulators the same as the BA-BF units? With summer coming up and some says off from work finally happening, I'd like recommendations from people on good window tinting companies in Perth. I've checked out the web sites for the usual companies like Tint-a-car but I was wondering if there are better choices around that I should check out.

Would that be the heat soak issue I hear about and which is why people upgrade their intercoolers?

I oiled my filter in March, like yourself I was worried as it looked like I used too much oil, however to get the filter covered I had to really spray it for a while over about two passes. It looked a really deep red and I left it standing overnight to drain the excess off, which was only a few drops of oil. However it made a big difference as since I did the re-oil, I noticed the turbo spooling sound a lot more and the car seemed a little more eager.

Might I recommend talking to Matt from Race Brakes Sydney, I dealt with him last year when I had to replace my front rotors and pads after the previous owner put standard Falcon sized ones on the front instead of proper larger Turbo sized ones. He gave me great advice, an excellent price and I am very happy with the stopping power on my car now.

Did a comparison yesterday between the FG-X XR6 Turbo, G6E Turbo and the Mondeo MD Titanium 2.0T - which seems to be the top of the range you can get - and for the pricing - the Mondeo is listed at $44,290, the XR6T at $45,690 and the G6ET at $47,059 - you have to admit the current crop of Falcons bang for buck, have it all over their replacement - I believe the Mondeo is what Ford intend to replace the Falcons with? - considering the FG-X's are both 270Kw versus 177KW for the Mondeo, have a combined fuel consumption of only 3 litres more than the Mondeo and are pretty well appointed. It will be a sad day when the Falcon is finally retired. I did the comparison on Redbook.com.au
