  1. I would not have any concerns with reset rear leaves. Axle tramp is a concern but it seems to be happening with std and aftermarket leaves.. My old ones were reset to about SSL height and never had a problem... For sure I could be the odd one out, but I doubt it.. $2600 and 26 settings for suspension ? I am thinking this could be good value in a pissing contest at the local hangout, or on the track.. but that would be about it
  2. It does highlight the sad (my opinion only) fact that the old days of experimenting and playing around with cars are gone, and that the new way of doing things is to visit "your" tuner, give him a cheque and tell him/her you will be back next week to pick it up..
  3. I just sold springs and leaves to suit FG to SSL height.. Nice avatar.. bit skinny though, I'd be affraid to snap her in half
  4. pffftt... so he is the cleaner with a chequebook to get his car going fast.. no credit there bucko !!
  5. I got a flat last week on the left rear, something cut my tyre about 1 cm from the inside edge, had the same concerns as you as the tyre still had about 4 mm of thread left. However, inside edge were worn to the max so the tyres have spend some time on the front with the previous owner.. Anyway, they managed to patch it so a few weeks of "spirited" driving then new tyres..
  6. I can't even find Blacktrack.. drove through that street several times now... It must be either hidden.. or I am going blind
  7. My FG does it, I read somewhere that it was the factory tune causing this. However, if that is the case then it does not make any sense for your situation... Unless they upgraded the engine management software ?
  8. Mine was a mini.. but then again, I wasn't paying it off for the next 15 years either Not saying of course that anyone here is doing that, but I do people that are spending up to 70% of their paypacket on car repayments and insurance.. that doesn't leave much for fuel and food P.S. Great looking ute...
  9. $55K on a car... and you are asking people from an internet forum for advice on which one to get ? You don't see an issue with that ? P.S. Ego...
  10. 10% performance increase for $700 ? woohoo... put me down !!

I bought the ute at 5300 Kms, it was lowered then and raised it to SL height at about the 20K mark. I do a lot of dirtbiking and camping etc, lots of times it has had 2 full size bikes in the back with gear, still going strong so far

Heya Deebs, Originally it had SSL in the front with reset rears (SSL height so I actually raised it to Super Lows. My CV is fine but I don't give it a super hard time, with that I mean I still have fun and wear out the rear tyres, but I don't load the driveline up to ridiculous levels. When you start doing that things will simply break. A mate of mine used to rev his car at 4K and side his foot sideways off the clutch, and then wondered why the axles keep breaking Having said that, I do acknowledge the CV appears to be the weakpoint for the ZF equipped Utes.

That is a problem with the HID's, especially if they are behind you at night.. A mate is NSW highway patrol, he is quick with the defect notices but like the mobile phones and the fog lights, it is all a losing battle... It is "Numero Uno" for most nowadays :(

09 FGT ute with ZF @ 30K Kms. Lowered with King Super lows all round and stock shocks.. I haven't had axle tramp once yet.. that includes letting her rip with the traction off... it just slides around nice and smooth...
  15. Settings are good for CD as they are standardised when it coems to Bass, treble and volume.. MP3's are in a completely different world as they are ripped by different people, at different settings and with different rippers etc.. I think the premium system sounds great, maybe the new age car buyers expect a "nightclub" style sounds booming from their car..
  16. Hiya Pat, Quick question for you, I researched the option of airbags but I was under the impression that the XR's were too low already for the bags as there is simply not enough room between the axle and the rear chassis rails, which means that you are almost riding on the bags non-stop (even fully deflated) and this makes the car not handle too well.. Your thoughts ? Cheers,

She loves fast cars, beer and porn... A chick that likes all that ??? No such thing... Check her wedding tackle, be prepared for a scare...
  18. I am surprised that Mediamonkey hasn't been mentioned yet. There are lots of mediaplayer comparisions out there and Mediamonkey is always at the top.. It does all you want and more.. The one negative is that it does audio only. iTunes is good on a MAC, but once you get a large collection (10,000+,) iTunes slows down to a crawl. It tries to take over and creates GB sized directories just to handle album art.. Try Mediamonkey, you'll never go back to another one...
  19. pppfffttt.... Who cares about performance, safety, legalities.... the sound it makes is where it is...
  20. Don't say that or else half the forum members will attempt it...

    mmmmm steak....
  22. Make that 10 out of 10... Nobody throws away money...
  23. IT all sounds good but if something were to go wrong.... I don't think we have seen anything definitive yet to say that the Car will tell a dealer that the software has been modified in the past. However, if it does then I am doubting that any dealer can put a valid argument to Ford why they should pick up the tab for a new engine.. It is all risk management.. P.S. I have got a feeling your car is located in Geelong..
  24. Maybe they are.. In the short time I have been reading these forums there have been 3 already that had their TC turned off in the wet and ended up with a crumpled car... It all looks so easy on the PS3...
  25. Wow, never been called a bogan before... Don't use mine for work but it does get a KTM dirtbike in the back and gets packed with camping gear... But in all seriousness... If you can't decide if you should get an ute or a sedan then you are not car worthy
