  1. I saw an RS4 with the rego WRXSUX on ipswhich road in brisbane.... this thing went like a rocket.. Also saw a new small four wheel drive (dont know what kind) with the rego plate 65LUT... thought she had to be to get that number plate... see this car daily lives just around the corner
  2. I have got a new one under warranty due to the warping/dings... however the new one was fitted wrong and caused the lid to chip... still waiting on my third lid which is on order.. when I took my car in they said they will look at it... went to pick it up and they advised me the lid is ok... asked the guy to come and have a look at the lid with me... he then said he can see them now.... got 2 more service personnel to come and check it out.. told them will not accept this on an extra of this value and hence the new lid... I have warps on the this lid now too and am expecting the third lid to get warps as well... just not going to accept the chip as is their fault.
  3. not acceptable in a falcon or a gt... not in this day and age I too am keen to hear what happens when this specialist checks out the gt
  4. Brisbane december 2003 phantom... not much to metion... little extras are factory tonneau cover (phantom), tinted windows and extra xr8 air intake done as per mainline 56's guide.. hoping to throw in the unichip in the very near future... and we will see where the finances allow it to go from there :uziman:
  5. I have standard sound in my ute and my brother has premium sound in his sedan.... the difference is HUGE!... well worth the money and I tthink you will kick yourself if you dont get it.... After hearing the brothers I now wish that the utes also came with the premium sound option :uziman:

State revenue raisers? C'mon...you're kidding aren't you? I really bust my gut to work extremely long hours so I can pay much more tax than I believe I should so it can be redistributed to the lumpen prolateriat who don't work or sponge off the taxpayers or to have my hard earned money spent on crap like art galleries, womens studies, drug 'rehab' programmes etc etc I don;t make the fines attached to the offences. I issue tickets to those that blatantly choose to ignore what the majority want. Speed cameras and increases in fines are a product of increased Government spending because too many people want the Government to provide things that, I believe, should have a bit more user pays so they are not abused. Plonky... my comment is obviously said a bit tongue in cheek.... however if we continue to fine drivers for driving 71 in a 60 zone going downhill, then yes it is revenue raising... how about deducting points only until the infrigement is serious??? I dont mean that you or any other police officer is personally a revenue raiser... I also work my ar$e off and pay a crap load of taxes and am just a pi$$ed off as the next bloke when pulled over for a minor ingringement... and then having to fork out cash for it... If I break the speed limit by fair chunk.. then hell yeah, I'll pay for my infringement which is obviously valid..... cause I know that I chose to floor the car and make a dick of myself... but 71 in a 60 is a bit steep... but then again the majority of people break the speed limit by this amount and fining people for only serious ingrigements would not make it worthwhile for the government buerecrats (maybe spelt wrong but who cares) So hope you can see the difference that yes I believe it is revenue raising and no I dont think police are personally revenue raisers.... now lets get back to the topic at hand... radar detectors cheers
  7. what he said... cause your only gonna leave her in the long run
  8. jetute replied to a post in a topic in Off-Topic
Zapxr6t.... if you have a radar detector and it is concealed so the state revenue raisers cant find it... how does it actually work... does it beep to let you know there is a radar or what does it do??/ curious??
  9. I have a manual and have stated on this forum in the past that I could not change from 5th to 3rd on a downchange... However since I posted that, for some unknown reason I can change in this manner every single time now.... maybe the box just took 6900 km to wear in,... who knows... if your a manual man, go the manual.... not the best box in the world but it gives you the opprtunity to play a little... they are good fun :o And the manual really is not that bad in traffic... I find it quite comfortable in traffic... that's just MO

30 000k service.... seems like a lot a ks for a car that was registered only 6 months ago.... would you be a sales rep??
  11. 30 year old... I had a quote for an xr8 for $2200 and a quote for for xr6t for $1400... seems like the 8's cost more to insure... In the process also asked for a quote for a wrx and was also quoted $2200... GO THE T!! I am on a rating 3.
  12. Xrdreaming has/had a phase II. I think its in the moddle of becoming phaseIII. I saw him run a 12.6 at Calder and he seemed very happy with it. It could be worthwhile sending Dean a PM and asking him for his thoughts. Geea. thanks geea.... Although I have just read about the path that you took and sounds like an other very tempting option... too many products... not enough info means that many more hours will be spent on this forum
  13. alxr6t... I'd say your right on the money there.. is there any ute owners with a phase 2 kit, how much?? maybe basher tsv could tell us, since the lucky pr1ck gets one fitted in about 2 weeks!!!!!! ...
  14. jetute replied to Kato's topic in Off-Topic
If u have parked near a building site recently... it could just be acrylic overspray from an airless spray gun... if this is the case you should be able to wash it off with warm-hottish water and car wash.. Hopefully only acrylic
  15. Talking about utes.. I noticed in the latest performance fords mag.. one of the advertisers had the APS phase 2 kit on special from $5900 to $5600 if I remember correctly... it then stated that this price is for sedans only... does this mean utes are more expensive?? If this is the case... would it mean that all phases are more expensive for the ute??
  16. jetute replied to a post in a topic in XR6 Turbo
I now take mine to the local car wash... for $20 they pump it through the actual carwash... then two teenagers spend about 30mins cleaning the mags, seats, carpets, interior windows and the like... not bad for $20.. If im broke I'll do it myself This threads been great... more and more new T owners popping out.. well done guys
  17. your T's build quailty, & how well/quickly faults were fixed... Build quality I would rate as 3-4... has a few too many problems (rattle in seat belt, window washers not working etc) to get a 5. How quickly are problems fixed... The ones that dont cost much are fixed immediately (the seal falling of the tailgate and cleaning window washer) The ones that seems to cost money or take more time... well they have not been fixed except they did supply me with a new lid as the original one had bad warps in it :locked:
  18. jetute replied to harasn's topic in Brakes
My hand brake works fine... The only downside to it is that it feels like I have to pull it up to the bloody roof line... none the less, it works :locked:
  19. jetute replied to a post in a topic in Ford Discussion
I agree with everything the guys here have said.... the only thing That I could add is that I think your insurance on the T would be cheaper... I also went from a wrx to the T oh and :locked:

I think I'm pretty safe in saying that your car would have already been built before you ordered it and sourced from another dealer.....I havnt heard of anyone getting their cars ordered, built and delivered in under 1 month. I ordered mine on Dec 9th 2003 - picked up Feb 12th 2004 Lee ordered his new years day and received in late feb..... I agree... I ordered mine 22nd january 2004 and got it a week later.... mine was actually in the yard, delivered one day earlier... dont know what took so long when the car was already in the yard?? anyway, :hiwelcome: to both new T owners
  21. with all the trouble you have been through... I hope not Would now be nice to cruise in a T that is actually in proper working condition... enjoy
  22. jetute replied to a post in a topic in XR6 Turbo
well done and .... you will love the car!! and you will hate the washing
  23. yes... my brothers friend drives an n/a... he actually used mainline 56's guide (you can find this by doing a search) before I did mine... he then passed along info that he got better performance... hence the brother and I followed mainlines guide on our T's oh... mainline 56 did the xr8 intake and posted a step by step installation with pics on the forrum somewhere.. total cost $66 and looks factory
  24. I know this could lead to another difference in views with Peter. But it is my experience and others that I know as well, that by adding a 2nd air intake there is a noticable gain in performance. Geea. That is a definate YES I agree.. when I put the second air intake in.. there was a definate incrtease in power... I feel that I am now use to this little extra and now need some more power.... any other cheap options.... or should I go for one of the after market kits (unichip, exede)??
  25. reading one of the other topics... appareantly the ecu can sensor this and compensate for it... I guess meaning that it can override it... can you guys that have this done notice if this is the case... I have the xr8 extra air intake... noticed immediate gain but am now wondering whether the ecu has compensated for this... or am I just getting use to the little extra that I got... your thoughts??
