The NEW Standard reply
I took along a printout from this site to show the guys how to fix the rattle in the gearstick.. before that all I got was "well I havent heard of this in a T before, xr8 yeah but not in a T" now they will fix it under warranty. Great site, great info, this site knows more through the members then ford service departments do. :hiwelcome:

Formula one- Malaysia
with the over whelming dominance of ferrari in Australia, it looks like the season will be a bore to watch. Do you think things will change and that the michelin rubber will equal things out Malaysia? post your thoughts.

sorry to steal your thunder peter, but thought I would make a new thread for this post QUOTE (jetute @ Mar 19 2004, 05:53 PM) maybe a stupid question but will there be a similar day in bris vegas???? or has there already been one?? We hope to run a unichip day in Brisbane later on in the year, how many guys would like a day in Brisbane? Would be a good excuse to leave melbourne for a warm sunny Brissy day. Tonneau Cover
well finally took it back to get the dings/warps checked out (thursday)... was told by ford that the lid is all ok and that they could not see the dings. Asked the guy to come with me to have another look. He walked out and said oh yeah I can see them now!? wtf.... u would have to be blind not to see them... anyway he had to get two more ford guys to check it out (all after they had the car for a whole day and could not see them) and they agreed that the warps are bad.... eventually they agreed and said they would order me a new lid. was told there would be about a 3 month wait to get it... to my surprise they called back on friday and said the lid had arrived. YES! round one to me. back next week for round two re the gearstick rattle and diff clunk which they appareantly could not hear either. BLIND AND DEAF!!

Tray Compartments
Im a tradie and use my ute for work... I bought an aluminium toolbox from bunnings which sits perfectly in the middle of the two wheel mounts (lumps) in the tray... I siliconed this in (easy to remove for sale purposes)... This has left me with the back part of the tray for shopping and other purposes... the front part for tools and stuff and the tools box for my bits and pieces.... works well and the missus doesnt complain bout the shopping all over the joint... my 2c worth

Chance Encounter
Was down at the gold coast getting my windows tinted by cooltint and while waiting decided to go down to the local servo for breakfast... drove in and parked my phantom ute next to a lone phantom xr8.... went in came back and now there was another phantom xr8 parked on the other side.... I stood by my car while drinking my coffee and one of the xr8 owners came back.... we had a quick chat and had a quick look at this marvellous site and thought that wouldnt ford be proud of this.... (was by far the best lookig setup that servo had ever seen)..... I never experienced this with my rex.... Went back to the tint shop and wouldnt you know it... the guy before me had an xr8 ute... he saw my xr6t and came over for a chat.... WHAT A CLOSE KNIT COMMUNITY WE ARE

Problems Wif Da Clutch
I know this an old topic but...... I was leaving work two weeks ago with 1000km on the clock... please note I had never given the car a bootfull before this as have been running the car in.... I gave the car a bit more then normal from a standing start to take off. )nowhere near what the other guys have said in previous comments... I thought I had got wheel spin and went into second... wasnt until I hit second that I realised that the wheels were not spinning but that the clutch had let go on me.... I picked up on this fairly quickly and backed off and smell only stayed in the car for 10 secs or so..... Am glad others have experienced this and will see what the dealer has to say at my 3000km service....

Flying Finn Cops Record Fine
Salonoja actually received another fine a few years ago for $40 000 euros... roughly $70 000 AUD.. This guy has so much money that paying these fines means nothing to him.... It would be equivalent to us forking out $100.... Oh what would it be like to have this sort of money and make your own rules

Sunroof In Ute
There would be alot of illegal utes out there junior.... I dont think this would be the case or otherwise convertibles would have to be illegal too.... have seen a few utes with the sunroof and they magicall!!! but then again the price tag is pretty magical too
-
Sunroof In Ute
oh... and if u dont have window tinting u can probably get that htrown in if you purchase your sunroof through a place that supplies both... worth a shot dude
-
Sunroof In Ute
I dont have one in my ute byt my brother has one in his xr6t sedan.. It is a great option and is fantastic to let out the hot air your car collects whilst sitting in the sun.... on the other hand the cost is quite large for something you can really live without..... comes down to 2 things 1- do you really want it 2- can you u afford it If its yes for both the above, I say go for it.... I opted not to as I think the money is better spent elsewhere (like plug in when available).
