Tassie Cruise
Hey Robbo, I was thinking first week of October?.......Do you have or can you get any info on Symmons Plains? I had a look on the V8 Website, and the Tassie round is in November so I dont know if that would make it hard for us if we wanted to have a race/drag day or not ? Brad

Tassie Cruise
Although you want to make sure everyone's right for the first day's drive. Unless we were to stay in say Davenport the first night and spend the day having a look around, possibly even getting some fuel reserves etc and getting everyone up to speed with what the routes were, and when we planned to reach each okace each day and all that. I'm open to suggestions nothing set in stone yet. Brad

New Speed Camera Cars In Victoria
They have no affiliation with the police they are a seperate governing body, driving either, Wagons,or usually 4WD vehicles as to fit the equipment in the back. You can park right in front or right behind, they cannot do anything and the Vic Police have no power to ask you to move either, if you were parking ilegally for whatever reason it would fall under the durastiction of the council you were parked in. In which they could fine you if an infrigment had been made e.g tow zone, or specific timed zone, or meter zone etc. The only thing the police could do is fine you for any defects they might find with your car. In one of those situations once where someone tellin their "run in with the cops" stories and this guy who is a builder was saying he was on a job site where there was one on the side of the road and went and moved his car right in front and put a sign on his car indicating there was a camera, which then made the speed camera operator relocate. Being sceptical I asked a policeman who confirmed that they have no power to stop you from doing it. Brad

High Speed Driving Course
Not too sure Mat, if there is though I'd definately go for something like that. At the end of the day the end result im wanting to achieve is to learn better ways to understand the car better and learn ways in which to react to different situations at speed through various techniques that only trained and qualified instructors know how to do. So if anyone has any info regarding these type of days please let me know. Brad

XR6 Turbo Insurance: Premiums, Insurers & Advice
Who you with ? With my old car my premuim went down every single year from when I bought the car. Granted it was not a high performance car or had any mods other than some alloy's, tinted windows and an alarm but still lived in a couple different locations during that time and obviously got older (maybe not acted it ) and also had no claims, but it still went down. I was with RACV until next week that is when I change to AAMI with the T. Brad

It Pays To Be Nice
One of the worst ones I had was when I was about 19 or 20 was pulled over by one of the dirt bike coppers, which at the time didnt know who it was, (thought it weird a dirt bike was doin same lane changes as me lol), eventually I pulled over and he was really good about it, could have done me for alot worse and I could have made it worse by unleashing on him by going down the route of..."didnt know you were a cop mate"...blah blah but just kept my cool and spoke to him respectfully. Still landed me 5 points and about $330 haha

High Speed Driving Course
Really appreciated guy's thanks, I'm not really mechanically minded so reading various posts and forums on here is really helping me understand things better. I'm still looking for courses that dont require you to complete a slower course before hand. Brad

Tassie Cruise
Well partly selfish I have a Golf trip in Corowa every Caufiled Cup weekend in October so was lookin to try and combine the 2 so I wouldnt need to take 2 seperate annual leave dates from work. As the weeks tick over the Spirit of Tas site updates with new prices etc. im still looking into accomodations along the route that was suggested earlier by ETM so will post those when I have them. December Cruise To Rye
Could maybe have Sponsors pick individual their 3 fav's and then maybe have a poll where members get to vote for their 3 fav's then the remaining 6 spots allocated for group pics?? Or perhaps if it were to become something done for each year have members submitt their own photo's and then same format as other option but no group pics, sponsors pick 6 and members pick 6 or a 4 and 8 ratio?? Just an idea I guess I know I go on the hunt around this time each year for a couple good calenders and an XR6 Turbo Calender would have more than 1 spot in my place and also a spot at work. Like you said start a thread maybe and see if there is any interest there.

What Is With Holden Drivers...
Down the car wash the other night after the pissy dirty rain melb's had the other night, nice and peacful nobody else around to bother me and then I hear an obscenly annoying sound and as I turn around I see not 1 but 3 commodores - VL, VN and either a VB or VK racing through the roundabouts in Mooroolbark right past the cop shop. The sound that came from their exhausts was excrusiating, and how anyone can think that it sounds hot is beyond me. To make it worse 5 mins later they came back on their 2nd lap. I stopped looked up shook the head had a chuckle and went back to washing the car.

Damaged Done To Car By Tint Shop
A mate of mine has an 05' Impreza sti and whenever he has to get any work done he takes digital pics of the car outside the place where the work is getting done, with the date showing. He has only had to use the pics once, after he had work done and they had scrapped one of his wheels. He produced the pics and they paid for the repair, but before they were shown the pics they also tried to say it wasnt their fault. Sucks to have to go to those lengths I guess but like what was mentioned before there is definatlely dishonest pri#ks out there who just dont give a damn. Brad

LOL ohh ok yeah well F6T got me worried by saying convertible so not sure what he meant by that, your guess is as good as mine. Is that your car? I pick mine up week after next finally !! and had been lookin for a similar lookin pic (mines phantom too) to put on there, so I tried lookin for pic's on carsales kunder dealer cars thinkin well if I use a car from there it won't belong to a private owner lol How's this one? that's the actual car.

Tassie Cruise
Hey Robbo, yeah I thought of that, plus if we go over during the day pretty much are paying for an extra nights accomodation. See what others think aswell. So far looks like Sept-Oct 2009, as this is off peak and thus freakin' cheaper but also enough time to plan thing really well.

XR6 Turbo Insurance: Premiums, Insurers & Advice
Nearly 14 years with RACV, they have actually been not too bad until now when I wanted to get a quote to insure the T. AAMI quoted me $828 which is for: Full Comp Rating 1 for life Lifetime Repair Warranty Choice of repairer Windscreen Replacement (1 per year) $75 Hire Car upon claim being made $25 $750 Excess (raised from $500 to bring premium down) RACV for the same thing except an excess of $1000, $66 for each the Windscreen and Hire Car option and no choice of repairer were going to charge me over $1100 ! ( 1235 with excess of $500 - AAMI's premium with excess of $500 was $870 ) When the guy asked me how did that sound and which option I wanted to chose I said neither and said I'd be making arrangements to switch from them to another Insurer. Told him what I was getting and he 1. didnt even offer to try and keep my business by seeing what he could do and 2. Seemed to be lost for words and was like

One other thing that we should organise is to have a couple of camera's to make sure we get some happy snaps, and maybe also a couple of video camera's to capture some of the targa stages and other scenery
