  1. I double checked with the guy I brought it off and turns out I am retarded and got it backwards the gear box is rated for power outputs of 450rwk+ and that yes I would need option 5 or 6 clutch. And as far as running 20psi, he actually meant it could go to 20 all day everyday once the bottom end was done. And I'm pretty sure I'm dyslexic
  2. The guy I brought it off advised me that if I was to do the bottom end I could push it to 20psi like I said until I did that I'll be keeping the boost where it is. Back to one of my original posts my ultimate goal is to have a final product that is built tough and is going to last. Any extra power I pick up is a bonus, upgrading the bottom end or doing a rebuild added with the other mods I want to do will give me that built to last end product. I'd love to say money wasnt really an issue cos if it wasnt id be doing a full rebuild and looking at a stage 3 or 4. But ideally id like to achieve it with 7-8k over say 18 months but being realistic it could be 24 months and 10k. Like you said mate lots of opinions out there and speaking to the guys that deal with it everyday like the nizpro's, cv performance', etc is the only way im going to learn whats best. Another guy I have been speaking to has given me the list of what he runs, which is: -t04z turbo, -manifold, -external wastegate, -dump pipe, -ces exhaust, -nitto plenum, -injectors, -valve springs, -t56, single plate clutch, -044 fuel pump and surge tank, -pwr cooler, -custom intercooler plumbing and with a good tuner makes 410rwkws. After a rebuild and a few changes it made 460rwkws. He's actually wanting to sell t04z turbo as he has just bought a t51r. Like I said the more info I have the more prepared I will be when I go and speak to the guys. I'll be able to ask the right questions and give some of the examples from here that I otherwise wouldnt have thought of.
  3. Option A pretty much your standard route I think few good roads etc. Option B more twistys good scenery probably my choice if it was me. Option C alot more twistys alot tighter, if your not familiar with the area wouldnt recommend it as you will spend more time lookin at the melways and not enjoying the drive. Did a mini cruise up through seville, Mt Evelyn Silvan etc was real nice but hadn't been on a couple of roads and had to check melways plus can be frustrating with slow ass drivers too scared to take up both sides of the road coming around a hair pin corner lol Enjoy the trip mate Brad
  4. Rolls Royce 2008 Phantom RRP $1,095,000 sell it for an even 1m and use the 7 figure payout to buy the cars I really want: Couple of Aussie Muscle,3-4 American Muscle, Upgrade the T to stage 5 with NOS, Tough Aussie 4WD to tow the new deep sea fishing boat, an XR8 BF Ute to tow the new ski boat, have to slip a merc in there, and perhaps a fully loaded WRX Sti. And use the rest to build a big enough garage to store them all !!
  5. hmmm I wouldnt have classed spending 5k on a bottom end NOT doing it properly. As far as extra boost go's I'm able to go to 20psi right away but until I re do the bottom end I want to leave it, and the clutch I have is rated at 1000hp, which is over 740kw (unless the info I was told about it was BS but I trust his knowledge) It's going to come down to $$ and also when I will be able to do it I think. Doing a rebuild gets me inline with nizpro stage 3 which is 12k. Re doing the bottom end with upgrated plumbing and exhaust gets me to about 7k and according to nizpro will give me decent power and quality running return. I will be having a good discussion with them when the car go's in next week for service and tune. Up until now everyone that I had spoken to had said (based on own experience and observations from others) that upgrade of bottom end plus the new exhaust will see me hit just over 400 rear and then speaking to alex from plazmaman suggests one of their 1000hp coolers will see me gain another 30-40kw. In anycase it's showing me there are alot of options and equally numbered opinions which for someone like me who has very little knowledge and understanding in this area can be both good and bad. At the end of the day having as much knowledge going into these decisions as possible is highly preferrable as it exposes me to things I would not previously have thought about. Cheers all for the help and feedback, very much appreciated Brad
  6. Not really wild but similar pattern to like a phoon has nice black or charcoal leather with purple stitching instead of the whiteish grey that the phoon has with the XR logo in purple but also with turbo embroided in red under the XR logo like how the turbo badge is on the back of the car. Thanks mate but just getting an idea of prices at this stage. Any spare cash is going under the bonnet right now. Cheers
  7. Thanks mate, sent an email with request they have quoted me $2200 for all seats and door trims full leather and logos. Cheers Brad
  8. This is what im currently running: -AVO FMIC - Xforce SS exhaust 3" - Nizpro Valve springs - Bigger injectors - Nizpro plenum - Mal Wood T56 - Option 3 clutch - Plazmaman plumbing with CAI - King springs front and back 2" lower The car had a complete AVO stage 3 kit but has since been replaced with Nizpro plenum and plumbing from Plazmaman which includes the CAI. It was recently tuned by Nizpro when the plenum was fitted and it made 341rwkw on 14psi.
  9. Power wise im looking to hit mid 400 rear, but ultimately im wanting to upgrade all the running gear all the hardware and plumbing etc. I dont want whats under there to be "right at it's limit" If I am to get the mid 400 I want to be fully confident in what im running could handle 400 with ease. I'm about 100 or so rwk of where I'd like to be, so im hoping that with the mods I listed before I will be able to achieve that. The guy I brought the car off was quoted 5k fitted and tuned for a typhoon bottom end, which will see me hit 400, so that along with fitting new nizpro exhaust, bigger turbo with increase of boost up to 18 or 19 plus a bigger cooler will see me hit 450. I'm looking at it long term I do want to buy a cheap run around daily driver as having a daily that puts out more than 450 is not something I want to have lol. Please excuse my ignorance with things, im still learning all the lingo and the ins and outs of the engine etc. I read up on xlnt6's post and was impressed by what he had done and what his end result was. Im booked in for a service and tune Friday week so will be able to have a good chat with Simon to find out more.
  10. Hi all just wondering if anybody has had their interior changed to full Leather and where they went and how much it was. Im in Melbourne and have tried to do a couple of searches but have come up empty. Cheers Brad
  11. Hi all I have a couple of mods lined up for this year, bigger bottom end, new 4" exhaust from Nizpro, new 1000hp cooler from plazmaman and would like to upgrade the turbo and increase the boost from 14psi (current) to 16-17. I just want to get an idea from anyone that has done this as to how much it set them back and what kind of performance return they got. (Thanks to xlnt6 for the pic just wanted to show an example) Cheers Brad

  13. Hi all, Im trying to organise a Cruise down to Tassie in late October. If you are interested and havent seen it, please check out the thread in the Cruises and Event Forum for Tasmania. There is a fair bit of organising and planning to do and would like to know of any genuine interest. Cheers Brad
  14. Clarence just making sure you know im out and that XRTF18 shot gunned my spot ? The full list posted on this page has me still in and not XRTF18. Cheers Brad
  15. I havent really had a long chat with him so once he see's whats under the bonnet and maybe even remembers it from when you were there last he may suggest to do the bottom end first. Which in all honesty id be happy with, as it would be good to hear from those who do get the exhaust put on just to see how it performs etc. Plus the fact I want to add at least another 80-100rwk I'd have to do the bottom end anyway. Along with the exhaust looking to increase boost and add a bigger turbo too. Mate as long as you're happy with the ride then that's all that matters. Any plans for mods at all?
  16. Yeah I thought that but Simon seems to think I will be able to do this first "next logical step" he says. Then do the bottom end. Although im not exactly sure what that will entail and how much it will cost. Im booked in for tune/service Friday fortnight so will probably get more info then. Hows the new beast going mate?
  17. I think the twin outlets are good, the last thing I need is for the cops or vic roads to be pullin me over every other day "having a look" at a massive 4" pipe sticking out the back. Really looking forward to getting it put on the car
  18. Tassie Cruise - 20th October 2009 - ( date will be confirmed in next couple months ) Members Interested 1. Sleeper6T
  19. Ok guys the possible date to leave will be either the 20th or 21st of October depending on costs and departure times of the Spirit of Tasmania. Can anyone who is seriously intersted PLEASE let me know and add your name to the list. I know its still over 10 months away but taking into consideration the planning and the fact peple need to book in annual leave and possibly the need to save a bit of cash, I think the more notice the better. A couple of the guys from Tassie have been helping with info on accomodation and also Targa Routes which is really appreciated. Though there has been some good interest I think limiting this event to maybe 15-20 cars would make for a good cruise, factoring in accomodation, parking, and over crowding of some of the tight and narrow roads. Open to opinions on whether that's a good number or not. So please add your name to the list on the next post to show your genuine interest. This list will not be the final attending list just a first list to get numbers and see who is interested. Obviously names will drop off and be added, but as I said only people genuinly interested as some places of accomodation will need to be booked as early as possible to secure spaces. Brad
  20. Yes....well at least that's what the pics on the site show anyway. They have pics showing the 100mm pipe right through (inc going through the mufler) and also pics showing it going into twin 2.5" pipes.
  21. Having a car that looks as stock as it did off the showroom floor, means less attention from policia and also has the 4 cylinder doof doof losers thinking they can take on the beast. The 6T just means 6 cylinder Turbo and that Sleeper on its own was already taken.
  22. Hey mate with the bonnet do they chop yours and fit a fibre glass buldge or is it an actual xr8 hood with the mod done to the front part cutting the opening? Cheers
  23. Ok well in anycase even if its not until march or april im sure there will be another purely due to the quality of your pics, and I wont have my mods by then anyway so the car will still have the sleeper look. So I'll pull out of this one and someone else can have the spot. Brad
  24. Hey Clarence will you be doing another one in Feb or even March ? If so I'll change to that one and drop out of the one on the 17th. Im working both days of that weekend. Cheers Brad
  25. Yeah pitty there was a bit of traffic up the hills, was awesome driving those tight roads and around the twisty's I might go back when there isnt as many cars, and not as hot. Yeah mate your exhaust sounded real nice heading down burwood hwy
