317 - sillouette - manual - sedan.
-
I have a FG F6 in manual and I love it. I understand that in day to day driving that the auto may be a bit quicker but I love the feel of being more connected to the car through a manual trans. In my mind a car like the F^ deserves the manual trans as the auto is simply just not as much fun.

What an absolutely awesome day. I can now appreciate just how awesome these cars really are, however my tyres are seriously looking worse for wear. There were 16 cars there, 7 turbos, 7 Gt's and two F6X's. It was just so much fun.

Hi all, On the 16th of April I am off to Sandown for the FPV track day, is anyone else for here going along?
-
All this talk of superchargers reminds me wistfully of the blown black Ford coupe in Mad Max 1. Now that was a sexy V8!!
-
Last car was a XR8. Ba Series 2.

G'day, I have a black FG F6 sedan. I am in Melb but hey who doesn't like a good, long drive in a fast turbo. Let me know if I can help.
-
I had the same issue 5 months ago. I was upgrading from a XR8 and I loved the V8's. I test drove both cars and really there just is no comparison. I ended up with a new F6. In my view there is no decision, unless you are going to supercharge the Gt as others have said. Having said that the F6 is an awesome car, you can't go wrong.

The most extreme example of this revenue raising mentality is the Hume Hwy. This world class road is easily able to accomodate travel speeds of at least 140 - 150 kmh. Even given allowences for less capable drivers and cars the limit should be 130kmh. Instead they have a limit of 110 and if you exceed that they book you for every kmh over 100!!! What the f*ck is that?? We are simply the victims of a nanny state mentality that encourages people to spend more time looking for speed cameras and watching speedos than looking for real hazards while driving. I can't see this situation changing any time soon.

Basic and very boring auto. 6 AU series 3 black XR6 with the VCT engine and minor exhaust upgrade. 7 BA series 2 XR8 - 6 speed manual lowered, 19 inch wheels, twin stainless steel sports exhaust. 8 2008 FG F6 - Black, leather, 6 speed manual - no engine mods as yet.

That is f*cking awesome. Congrats to all involved in this project. I would love to see more footage of it. Post more vids.

Can I ask why? I am being serious, I have to upgrade the family transport in the next 6 months and am seriously looking at the options. Is there a reason why you think the X5 is so much better than a TT?
-
At the risk of being royally bagged by you guys, I would buy one for my Mrs and the kids. I love my F6 but for 3 kids and all the sh*t that comes with them when we move as a family we need more space than what my little run about provides. In saying that, if I have to spend significant time in the car with the family I would love the F6X. Money is not the be all and end all. I work hard and I would much rather an F6X than a wanking X5. It's well priced when you consider the alternatives.

I've now had my car since the end of September and still nothing from FPV. Very, very slack in my opinion.

Yeah mate that was me. I'm Dave so next time pull over and I'll say G'day.
-
R-Spec, your in Croydon right? Was it you I saw at Burnt Bridge shops the other day. I had the black F6.

To Fpv Or Not To Fpv That Is The Question?
FMJ replied to lowfutura's topic in General Automotive Talk
Mate, it's your car, do what ever the hell you want to it and bugger anyone else. I own an F6 and if I saw you driving next to me I would give a wave and think nothing of the fact that it is a mock up of sorts. Bottom line, if you think it looks good the that is all that matters. Cars are a personal expresiion of personality. -
I agree, the power delivery comes with such an almighty rush with this car. One minute the car is driving forward and within seconds its turned into a rocket on wheels and it just keeps on pulling and pulling. I am absolutly amazed at this car.
-
I agree with the sound. I love the way the V8's sounds. It was the major stumbling block for me to go to the turbos, however even after just a few days, I am so glad I bought the F6. I have the guys at Etheridge Ford to thank for this, they pushed me to take an F6 and a GT for a test drive so I could compare and as soon as I stepped out of the cars I placed my order for an F6. I don't regret it for one second.

First day I got it it bloody well rained! Nice black car no longer very clean. Oh well. On a different note they have done a fantstic job with these cars, they are light years ahead of the XR 8's I have been driving the last few years. I would recommend this car to any one who still states that the 8's are the way to go. Seriously why would anyone buy a GT?
-
Mods, yeah early next year, I just want to get used to the car and how it drives before I decide to up it's performance. I have come out a few XR 8's and this drives so differently, that I want to get to know the car first.
-
Hey all, I picked up the new car yesterday afternoon. What a buzz, this is just one awesome car. I love it!
