  1. I wanted a 4 door under 30k with plenty of go and good bang for buck when upgrading. For me that left a couple of options: wrx, evo or xr6t. Of the lot I believe the T is the easiest to live with (I havent had a wrx/evo but discussed with owners) in terms of size and comfort. It sacrifices some handling but not enough to make me regret it.
  2. who is cya 11s? ive seen that a few times at the drags.
  3. Problem is we can't vote out departments like the RTA, they don't need to answer to anyone and both major parties are happy to let them shaft us because it adds funds for all their promises.
  4. my mrs/gf is a student (hopefully only 6-8 months left at uni) so I think its fair to say that is linked to my funding issues. Just need to sort out some stuff in the next few months and I should be able to start saving. My gf wants it done too because I've told her she won't be getting an engagement ring until after I run a mid-low 11
  5. If only it was that simple, I know what bits I want and pretty much settled on a tuner but I need to save around 6k to make it happen. Maybe I should pass the hat around next time theres a CC/Newy meet For the guy talking about engineers - Anthol Mullens or Kevin from Lakesedge engineering at Wyong both seemed good when I talked to them. I don't know if they'll need an emissions test to pass you, that's a pain in the ass.
  6. looks like a good day out. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to some events late this year or next year. Really hanging out to get some mods done, 350+ at the rears should do it
  7. I dont think it's rude or wrong, the dude did buy the car from you so he's not claiming something that isnt his. It's a nice picture and if your privacy settings arent locked down there are probably others using it you dont know about. Tighten your privacy settings and forget about it

when I was looking for my T car sales was the first place I went. Definitely a good first option, although I've had my turbo pulsar up there for a while and it hasnt sold yet. I think ebay/unique cars/forums are good for unique or heavily modded cars where you are hitting your target market and getting more exposure in addition to carsales.
  9. Good stuff, even more impressive considering he's driving a manual.
  10. how'd you go today guys?
  11. After you run a 10 will you be caging it spiko? Not sure if its faster than 11.0 or 10.0 that you need a cage but surely if everything comes together it could be on the cards. I think trav meant a 9 inch diff.
  12. I'd love to see the police argue that the car was out of control and dangerous. Lewis could call himself as an expert to comment on car control
  13. I wouldnt say e85 is pump fuel just yet, ANDRA sites the scarcity as a reason why it doesnt accept it as a fuel (although there are other political arguments). Later this year or early next year as caltex rolls it out to more sites so you can fill up at more than 1 or 2 servos in a state then it'll be a proper pump fuel. I can't wait, I'll be reserving a slot on the xcal when I grab one.
  14. Mine is octane as well. Well until the sun goes down and it becomes yellow Either way it's not really a colour that blends in to traffic a few corners later.
  15. Pretty sure that if the sale price is unrealistic the fee is charged on the market value of the car. How much it gets enforced I don't know but that's what I found when I looked into it.
  16. I wouldnt be chucking in the race cat without a tune, might be an expensive tow home. Dat you forgot to mention how stupid you feel too when people are expecting a decent burnout and TC interupts the fun. I'd love to enter and for DYO racing I'd be in with a reasonable chance because the car is pretty consistent, but im not really ok with running a stock car to consistent 13.7-13.8s. Even if I managed to finsh up high I'd feel like a douche. I might check out how much spectator entry is.
  17. 140-150kw at the fronts would be fun in such a small car and would be in the high 13s. 180-200 with traction would be into the 12s and give a lightly modded T a bit of a shock.
  18. I doubt your running 1.9 for a 60ft time on street tyres and a street surface but the best bet is to go to the drags and compare its readings to your timeslip.
  19. It doesnt work with the iphone. Looked into it a while back and the issue is the developer wont port the app to the platform unless the device allows a decent external GPS to be connected because the one in the phone isnt that great. And because apple are special they don't want to play the same way just about every other manufacturer does. As much as I love my 3GS I dont know if ill upgrade to the next generation unless they fix a few things and this is one of them. RaceChrono forum - iPhone 3G Port ? I've got a WM5 PDA somewhere, I should check if its still working if I get into trackwork on a regular basis. The cheapest option would be grab and old one off ebay or even a mate who is upgrading their smart phone.
  20. I'll vote for doing the visual stuff first. It wont void your warranty and you can always wait a bit and then get more power. If you dont have heaps of cash to spend then having factory warranty on a car with so litle milage on it is probably a good thing.
  21. If you plan on modding try to extend your budget for a BF built after 06/06 or a bf mk2. They got the typhoon internals so your off to a better start from a reliability perspective. Not sure about utes but sedans you can pick up a late bf or early bf mk2 for 25-27 if you are willing to look around.
  22. Agreed. Cut your 'mate' off and never forget what he was willing to do to you. You could try contacting the agent and see what they say but it will be your problem. At least going forward they might let you pay your portion direct to them if you explain the situation. You might have to come up with the missing 3 weeks for your own sake, you'll be better off in the long run. Before you do any of that though talk to your mate, find out whats going on. It could be an innocent mistake and he'll sort it out. Or maybe he was in a tight spot and didnt think anyone would notice for a couple of weeks until he had better cashflow to fix it up. Try not to be too hostile to start with but fire up if he doesnt have a good excuse and offer to fix it.
  23. I thought it seemed unusual that the exhaust might be causing pinging at that power level given that others seem to be running more power through them. Like you are saying where you are probably doesnt help either. Good to know though if I hit the limit with one it just needs a muffler change. Would still be a lot cheaper than some other options too.
  24. that's weird, plenty of people seem to be able to hit 350rwkw with them, even more. If you were running 380 or something like that I wouldnt be so suprised. Could it be your cooler? What brand is it?
