  1. I was told by my ford dealer in Sydney today that his manager has installed a BOV on his demo T, so it cant be that bad if you want to install one. On the other hand I've been told that your better of buying a good waste gate rather than fitting a BOV. This is what I have been told some of you might be able to confirm this, aparently you get minimun performance gains from a BOV and much better results with a wastegate, the information I have been given might be wrong.
  2. PSI40L, Where you getting it from and how much?
  3. I'll be in if it's in a couple of weeks, I'm picking up my car this week then I need a few days or so to run it in. I wouldn't mind trying out run with stock filter then a run with a K&N.
  4. If the rear parcel is anything like the AU's the speaker covers clip off by applying inwards pressure around the the speaker grill. Then you should be able to remove speakers with out removing the carpet.
  5. I now that was a interesting comment, BUT did you notice the price of the oil. If it does what they claim it would be worth the extra money.

Search through some of the other threads, a picture has already been posted.
  7. The funny thing is my sedan was ment to turn up on the 19th and have now been advised the 28th as well, our babies must of been very close at FPV.
  8. Has anyone had any experience with this motor oil brand (follow link)- http://www.autospeed.com/shop/category_290...omsvr=103482430 , it seems very expensive though the specifications are very impressive if true

Lisa, you could try this system, http://www.rojone.com.au/genius_pvm.html, not sure of the the range or pricing though it does seem to be better than quicktrak. All info on web link that I have provided above. I hope it helps!!!
  10. At the end of the day you have to ask your self a question, do you really need a car with all those options, if not buy a new one for around 50k. When you condsider his total price includes dealer deliver and stamp duties, gst etc all this is gone as soon as he drives the car out the dealers driveway in total I'd guess betwwen 4 - 6 thousand remembering each option over 50 thousand attracts 5 % stamp duty. Then you have to estimate depreciaton depending on condition of vehicle and kilometers traveled. If he was to trade it in he would be pushing to get $40 - 45 thousand, because remember the dealers like to put at least $10 thousand mark up. A couple of years ago I purchased a brand new bmw sports car for $93 thousand dollars, 18 months later as new condition with 25k on the clock a dealer offered me $60k, and who said bimmers hold there value. From what I have worked out dealer dont really consider the extra options you paid for as a lot of people expect, because by the time you sell your car half of them are included in the new model with a $1200 price increase.
  11. I'm in the same boat, I'm off to the GP in a couple of weeks and my car is turning up a week before and my missus is threatening to picking me up at the airport with bold tyres.

Unfortunately, my XR6T is on order. I have tried it in my 1971 V8 falcon and pulled a 12.6. I haven't actually run the car down the quarter though my machanic did say the new engine would pull a mid to high 12. The meter works well, but it only likes runs on a very straight roads. The other main factor is that you have to enter the weight of the car and anything else in it to get a acurate reading. After each run you have to set it up again and again which is a bit frustrating.

If you would like to find out how fast your car go's I actually own one, we could meet up and give it a try. I suppose it will save you some cash. I've owned it for 6 months and have used it 3 times. Or if you like you could always bye one from American Auto Parts for $369.
  14. You guys must be very unlucky, my delivery date was late March my dealer told me yesturday it will be here next week
  15. I recieved tickets when the Sydney show was on, who knows if I get some this year, probably not because I bought a car.
  16. I dont think it's a stake-out because there is no one the car.
  17. I've seen an unmarked white XR6T, in a Sydney suburb of Marrickville, the funny thing about the whole situation is that I’ve seen that car parked in the same spot every night for a month now, until I drove past this morning and it was still there with it's blue and red lights on top of the dashboard staring at me and it had no antenna's installed either. I'm not sure if a detective lives there or if it is a mobile speed camera.
  18. CJF077, There probably going to utilise the high level outputs from the standard deck, it has been done before in european cars, the only thing I can imagine going wrong is if they dont use a good quality brand amplifier to manage the high level inputs, ask them how there going to connect the deck to the amp if there going to solder some rca lead to your existing high level outputs, this you may achieve good bass but the sound quality will suffer. If the standard deck has RCA (low level) output everything would be very straight forward, but I really dought it will have RCA'S. Do a search on the web for a XTANT brand amplifiers, these amplifiers give you the option to add modules depending on how you intend to use the amp, they have a module specificly designed to be used with high level inputs. I do not think Strathfield carries this particular brand amplifier, though print out the spec's and take them with you and show the installer this is the features you require the amp to have. The last time I checked the amp alone was about upwardes of $1200.00. Avoid using any type of box that converts high level inputs into low level RCA outputs, the sound quality will suffer. Just be careful and make sure you do your research especially if you going to spend $3500.00. Take this advise only if you are really serious about installing a compertition quality sound system. Another option that may be worth looking into is to have a cd player installed in your glove box and bypass the whole standard system, it might even be more cost effective this way. Get another opinion there is another good installer at balmain down the road from balmain leagues club on the same side of the road, cant think of the name, sorry.
  19. Here we go again stopped into another dealer today, what do you know Ford is still producing vehicles with misaligned doors, I CANT TAKE IT ANY MORE , no visiting dealerships until my car turns up
  20. chrislak replied to Ninka's topic in XR6 Turbo
Speakers not being screwed down wouldn't work very well either, you should notice a difference when there screwed down tight.
  21. Thanks Ninka, I'm supprised that Ford actually installed 3 way speakers in the rear, car company's normally use full range speakers in the rear, like my AU Fairmont has, I cant wait to get mine so I can have a listen.
  22. Ok so here we go again the 18 inch wheels are actually larger in diameter, so that must mean I slight decrease in take off power.
  23. LionHeart, where are the 13 speakers located, My car hasn't arrived yet and I'm pretty sure that the dealer told me there is only 7 speakers in the car. Does anyone else know if there is 13 speakers in the premium package.
  24. As mentioned before I have ordered mine with standard brakes if I start having problems with them I'm going to change them with after market rotors, I rather pay for them later on then forking out the extra cash then paying 5% stamp duty as well. Remember once the car 50k all the extra's cost 5% more.
  25. Woudn't that pee you off if the car turned up with different or no options at all. SCARY THOUGHT!!!
