Problems With Xr6t Brakes
You would think they would of though ford would of got it right especially after the AU. I have the same problem with my AU at the moment, I changed all four disks at 80K and now after 3k I'm getting the same problems as you guys. Do you have premium brakes? , I didn't order premium brakes on my XR6T and I think I might regret it.

Ok, so the XR'S with 18 inch wheels have a lower profile therefore rolling diameter id the same.

Thanks guys for your responses they have helped, so do I read this correctly are XR6's with 18 inch wheels actualy slower at take off than one fitted with 17 inch wheels, I suppose the proper way of installing very large diameter wheels is to change the diff ratio to composate for the extra diameter and possibly a step down/up gear for the back of the speedo. One other point how would the wheel bearings react to 20 inch wheels. Woudn't car would look at of this world with 20"s.

FG XR6 Delivery Dates (2008)
I too have been getting the runaround from my dealer, I have requested for him to supply me with a SIDO number a couple of times now and nothing. Prior to leaving a deposit I was told that a car was in production and if I left the deposit that day it would be mine, SO WHERE IS MY SIDO NUMBER, if I find out that the dealer was lying to me I may consider running him over. Car dealer already have a bad rep, without needing to totally pis.... me off. WAKE UP FORD, YOUR COMPARING YOUR PRODUCT TO EUROPEAN MANUFACTURES, BUT you are employiong a bunch of f... wits to sell your products. I cannot stand being lied too, with me it's what you see is what you get.

I was wondering if someone could shead some light on what bigger wheels will do to performance say you were to install 20inch wheel on the XR6T, would you gain take off speed and loose top end or is it the other way around.

Aftermarket Audio
If you guys spend enough money on a high quality amplifier, you will be able to utilise the stock deck. How it works, you run the high level output from the stock deck to the new amplifier. I would be nice to have a very good sounding system while utilising the stock deck. You will have to be very careful which amp you choose remember you will be using high level inputs. I've used an Xtant brand amp before, connect the high level inputs into it and let it worry about the rest. Might not sound right, but it works very well.

Aftermarket Speakers
One major problem you may come across is amplification, you will most definitely find the standard stereo doesn’t have enough power to run good quality speakers. I had the same problem in my BMW 325CI, what you will need to do is source a high quality amplifier that will manage the high level input from the standard cd player, because I can bet the standard cd doesn't have conventional RCA plugs used to connect to aftermarket amplifiers, or totally bypass the cars cd player and custom install one in glove box under front seat or where ever else it will fit. While you’re at it you might as well add a subwoofer in the rear parcel shelf in the factory hole, I know the AU's still the hole when premium sound was not installed or another option is a sub box in the boot, it really depends on what type of sound your looking for. This was one of the first things I investigated prior to purchasing the car, the amount of money that you are going to spend now for a custom system is going to cost a lot more money than if you went for premium sound option. I know you cannot compare a custom car stereo installation to any factory installed system, all I can recommend to anyone out there considering premium sound, if money is an issue and you like nicer sounding system go for the premium sound package, if money isn't an issue skies the limit.

Powerchip And The Xr6 Turbo
Talk about being drilled, that's what happens when the Managing Director (MD) thinks her knows it all. You would of thought he would have invited one of his engineers to the meeting to back him up. If any of you guys decide to give them the car for the day, I'll would first be asking questions like WHAT IF MY ENGINE BLOWS, what if there is computer damage, what if, what if, etc. and who is liable to pay for any damages. Rather than the MD answering the questions at a MD level, he decided to talk on behalf of his Monash University programmer and screwed the whole interview up. You just need to take a look at the picture of the of himself on page one of the interview, I bet that was taking after the interview, he didn't look to happy, did he. I might be a little harsh here, but why dont they go and buy their on XR6T and do developement like a few other tweakers are doing from what I have read on some of the other pages on this fantastic forum. The MD mentions development in his interview, I can recal that a request for a Victorian XR6T was required for one day, that must be a lot of development. All I can say is be careful dont rush into getting some extra power.

Door Alignment
It's more than 1mm, I saw a xr6 utes was a miss alignment of about 5mm, you could actually see it when your in the car driving down the street. Last night I stopped at another ford dealer and what do you know 95% of the cars had the same problem, I even had another friend come with me to confirm what I have been seeing is right, he agreed with me. City Ford please make sure my car is right because I aint bying it like that, not that I'm saying that the cars I saw were at city ford.(dont want to upset the sponsor), Cmon guys someone out must have noticed this problem, if not your not looking harder enough.

Door Alignment
I found it very surprising too, after I inspected over 15 cars at two dealerships only a couple where perfect. There looks like theres a rubber in between both door that might cause the door to close uneven sometimes, anyway I'm hoping this is the answer because if there is a generic problem the dealers must know so it can be rectified. Call me a perfectionist or what ever when your paying over $50,000 for a car you expect all panels to line up. I'm just going to have wait and see when my car turns up in March.

Door Alignment
Today I drove past the ford dealer that I'm waiting to deliver my XR6T just to have another look at these fantastic cars, and in my horror a friend of mine pointed out to me the bad alignment of the doors. The area of door I'm refering to is the black moulding in the centre part next the the windows between the front and back doors. I coudn't believe my eyes after walking around and inspecting 10 other cars 9 off then had a step up between the front and rear doors. I then drove to another dealer to find their BA's had the same alignment problem didn't matter if it was a Xt. Futura, Fairmont or XR the majority of them had the same problem. This a serious cosmetic issue that spoils the look of this great car. When my car arrives I'll be double checking the alignment of the door mouldingd between the front and rear door windows. Has anyone of you guys or gals noticed this, if not check your car and let us all know.
