Ok the water pump and the timing chain are connected. The timing chain runs off the water pump pully also. Great design there. So now the water pump pully is bent, therefor causing the timing belt to skip and f*ck the engine. Oh and to add to this nightmare the crankshaft bolt is chewed out thanks to a Expensive Daewoo dealership who last worked on it. Just gets better! As for elec problems yep I have a emission control light that comes up all the time, its a glitch.

23k is much overpriced Im guessing its a dealer? Hope u didnt get it!!! But if you did guess it saves u going to a auction. With the car market the way it is you should get it much cheaper 18k at most. I got one 4 months ago 04/07 build, no scratches only 2 stone chips. Interior has some wear on the drivers seat, and 1 black mark on roof (5cent peice) but that's it paid $21,250.

600km and no oil that's impressive! Im not bagging out Expensive Daewoo or opel - im bagging out this ASTRA - Junk or extreme badluck... Had it 10 months and since then Ive had two elec windows, air compressor ($1350), window washer pump and now this. The timing belt was done 12,000km ago when we brought the car. The car now has 125,000km. The timing belt has wear because its slipped on the teeth - though why did it slip? I cant see how the two problems are related but I cant see how they are not since the excat monent the water pump gave way the car conked out. The T's have timing chains and are not serviced or lifed.

Ive only ever had new car warranty for a week, then modded the car. Had no 2nd thoughts in doing this as all I seem to hear is new car warranties arent worth pissing on... The fact alone that they charge $375 for a oil change and "Tighten turbo bolts" means they should fix ANY problems properly and stop giving people the run around. FRAUD. But on the up side you make me feel a bit better as our 2nd car is a astra and is a right royal lemon...

Ok I cant work this out - neither can the mechanic it seems. I have a 02 astra (Complete Lemon). My wife took it to the shops yesterday (1.5km drive) about 5m from the shops the water pump starting pissing out water everywhere, then at the same time the car stops and wont start... Towed it to the mechanic he had a look at the timing belt and its damaged (slipped teeth on the pullies), the timing is out and possible bent valves (2,500k worst case). Find out tomorrow the extent of damage after he pulls head off.... What I dont understant is how car a blown water pump can effect the timing??? The water pump is ran off the drive belt and the timing belt is in a seperate area. The mechanic seems to think its 2 seperate issues. But clearly the car stopped as the pump broke and therefor somehow made the timing belt slip - but how? ! Also have no compression in cyc 1, other cyc not tested as yet. Anyone know whats going on with this heap of crap, and anyone want to buy a 02 astra in about a weeks time?

lol xaray... Think your warranty claims will be denied if you have a major claim. But wouldnt worry first thing I did was flash the BF. Warranty is overrated paying for ford servicing's ECT.

I had the same problem - didnt loose power until a week or so then lost heaps. I had a cracked hose - the one that goes onto the throttle body. glued it back together now its fine.

Found my problem the hose to the throttle body was cracked underneat - I have done up the clamp to tight. I have also noticed I have been losing power last few days, and now I have some water in the cross over piping / turbo. Live link - I went to properties and ticked the box "Run in XP service pack 2 compatiable". Then clicked the box "disable themes" Then clicked "run program as admin" Then I think but cant remember If I had User accoutns ON or OFF. This can be done through control panel - I think mine are on which is standard setting. It then worked flawlessly! Though still unsure how to work out Air fuel Ratio. I have fuel flow and Air flow maybe some way to work it out? I ll pm u this info.

Well I think I have a leak I ran SCT livelink and its telling me my boost is 22psi (unless livelink doesnt work - first time I tried it). I would also say if you took your cross over off and back on and noise went away sounds like something wasnt connected right. With mine I took my cross over off, replaced it all good until 1 week now noisy - something must be coming loose Im gonna take it off and refit tomorrow.

Got the thing working tonight, didnt do anything different? Just ran in XP compatabile mode, User accounts ON ( was off - but should be off SCT site says) and Run AS admin. How do you work out Air fuel ratio? I also tried desired boost and says im boosting to 22lbs - think I have a leak somewhere. My BOV has been very loud the last week too.

mines still very loud - not losing any power and have checked my connections. One of the Clamps is stuffed and wont do up tight though dont think this is the problem as it seems to be tight enough. Ill get a new clamp and seeif this is the problem.

Ive just noticed that my car is making the BOV noise, ie big hiss/dose when coming off boost. It is coming from around the factory BOV area but hard to tell excatly. All connections look like they are in tact. Last time I touched it was 6 days ago when I fitted 2nd CAI and new spark plugs. I have also done DEKA injectors and flash 2 - 10PSI tune 2 weeks back (getting custom tune shortly, trying to get on dyno this weekend. should I be worried and stop boosting it till I get a tune?

Thanks tried all that the box makes its noise but then drops out and says device failed to connect. Anyone got any ideas?

I set it to Xcal2 and entered code HACCE, though it does say you dont need code if it is connect to car. I changed the program run in Compatable XP mode, and turned user auth accounts off. Once I did this the Flash box now beeps when I push Start data logging and says ACTIVE, then drops out and the laptop says DEVICE LINK FAILED or something! ! !! BFHOON - Did you use windows Vista?

Im trying to get live link to work with the xcal 2 (flash 2) box but keeps tellng me Device intialization failed when I load up livelink. Installed drivers and checked them they are fine. Im using windows vista. Anyone know how to get this thing to work? Im sitting in the car atm and have run out of ideas, any help appreaited.
