Gee I thought vct was controlled from ignition solenoids on camshaft is that how it works im gonna pull a rocker cover off r u serious??? Sticky solenoid I reckon it will drop a valve if the case????maybe it retard the timing before anything that's why it was shuddering... who knows???? maybe it something very simple where do we start .mr mods plz explain how it wrks do the camshaft solenoids actually advance cam duration or what...

look underneath boy s the barra has already shim style camber/castor kits get some shims dont waste the $300

Add the Koni adjustables like the man said. Interestingly enough I looked at the upper control arms the other day ford has already put the castor / camber kits in with 1 shim in the front there is enough room for usually6-7 shims in the front and 1 in the back this should give nearly -3 degree camber and +7 - 8 on the castor throw in a good front and rear sway bar .Get some progressive KING springs lowered and forget th wrxs,s3, and what ever else u want. Bathurst here we come.......

picked the car last week from service they fixed the bonnet lever,engine light problem,crocky horns but went through the car and found a long scratch on the front bumper ran in side back to service showed the manenger in my utter frustration and he said "chris there is no problem we'll fix it ...anyway got home popped the bonnet to check all myfluid levels and to concern found some melted rubber on the tensioner pulley on the fan belt..What I notced it is been wearing the outside of the belt..the rubber is on top of the tensioner and a bit on the side of the motor so one of the other pulleys must be misaligned ...Here we go again...has anyone else noticed such a problem

Dont think it was the heat mine happened on a cool night the whole motor was vibrating all in the cabin I thought it was fuel but what dirty filter pump and injectors everything is new it felt like it was pre - igniting switched it off restarted it and came good never had a problem since ford wont find a problem like that trust me unless it was dooing it consistantly

we are going to be cruzing guys not racing and there is no traffic on that day believe I go every year but any way you guys dont know what your missing out on ill be the first one there

Every long weekend there is a major cruz ,that leaves from the shell Service Station on Kingsgrove rd near Homer st and cruzez down to Woolongong .they happen every long weekend ive honestly seen up to 1000 cars cruz down whether they are normal daily drivers, street machines, hotrods you name it they are there .Everyone meets at approximately 10.30 am and leaves the servo by about 11 -11.30 they cruz down to woolongong beach and go for lunch down there and spend the rest of the day...it is a good day out...so what do u reckon guys whos coming.....

The difference between 95 and 98 RON is usually 2 or 3 cents. Not around sydney it isn't . Any way got a load of normal unleaded couple of weeks ago and didn't really see a difference makes me a bit sceptical sometimes of what I am really buying . I think the xr8 is 9.5: 1 comp u can easily run standard unleaded no problem. Fuel consumption who cares when u got V8 power...

thanx for that trevor I have to admit ive did go bit over board with the speed but I aint gonna mention any numbers ...but I wasn''t on it for that long and didnt feel that it had any noises or air leaks better get them to check it though

Loan car only for the weekend had to be back on monday 7am cause someone else had booked it and no more loan car available he reackons hows that for Ford Service

went up to Nelson bay 2 wks ago and on the way back went to overtake someone floored the accelarator and went for it .notced on the dash , the engine light come on .Looked in the manual when I got home and read it is for the electonic throttle control .took it back to ford told me it will be ready at the end of the day. A week and a half later and still no car .they think it is the pedal itself that's the problem .The team manager said that the pedal has 3 sensors on it and the last 2 are causing an open circiut . funny I thought though the car was still drivable and the light was coming on only whilst accelarating . Didnt know if he was 100% in what he was saying .I then told him it is not good enough I need the problem rectified then he claimed that we havent had alot of training on these new models .(how positive doz that sound.) Anyway doz anyone have any idea on what could have caused the problem ... or what is causing it...I hope it isn't my heavy right foot...

Popped the bonnet the other day and noticed the engine bay was very rough like it had been left with overspray and no paint pretty upsetting for 50k car .makes me wonder what else did they forget

Dont forget guys evrything is still new. when it gets hot it will omit a smell for eg ever had a exhatst replacement for the first 100 kms even smoke comes off it from the protective coating they put on it. Give a bit of time and all will be well.
