January 14, 200323 yr #1 went up to Nelson bay 2 wks ago and on the way back went to overtake someone floored the accelarator and went for it .notced on the dash , the engine light come on .Looked in the manual when I got home and read it is for the electonic throttle control .took it back to ford told me it will be ready at the end of the day. A week and a half later and still no car .they think it is the pedal itself that's the problem .The team manager said that the pedal has 3 sensors on it and the last 2 are causing an open circiut . funny I thought though the car was still drivable and the light was coming on only whilst accelarating .Didnt know if he was 100% in what he was saying .I then told him it is not good enough I need the problem rectified then he claimed that we havent had alot of training on these new models .(how positive doz that sound.) Anyway doz anyone have any idea on what could have caused the problem ... or what is causing it...I hope it isn't my heavy right foot...

This was for my old AUXR8, I was not going to buy a Ford again because of it... and this will be the last time if I ever get that again!! I wouldn't have accepted anything other than a loan car... they could have hired one for you.... anyway I hope it's sorted out for you quickly

January 14, 200323 yr #6 Ahhh the beauty of having a series one vehicle, it's a bit of a jip that they can sell you the car but that they dont have anyone in the workshop that fully understand's what's actualy wrong with it.
