  1. Dirty I dnt wanna argue .again its a matter of personal choice if u had a choice between carillo rods that hve been specialising in rods for years against manley rods that are still a good product which would u go for.for me id go carrillo.

kent, wasnt having a go at you just wanted ppl to be more suffice with what they write 9.9@139 with 740 hp sounds more believable you have 9.9 @139 with 1044rwhp im in the progress of building an all out motor myself and I know how much money I have spent so far ... it is an expensive process the idea of this thread was to see if anyone has been using solid lifters as im wanting to get some for my own and have come to the conclusion to make some myself ud think ppl are here on a forum to help eachother out. I know all the pros and cons, brads lifters are anti pump which act like a solid and eventually do bleed off .no doubt they do work better than stock ones . but the road im heading like urself is to show that it can be achievable ...
  3. Personally id go the crows simply cause there made in oz and not in china
  4. Mate the nitto rods are state of the art billet steel. I bought my set for 1200 ibeam they look similar to the oliver I beams. I have heard of argos breaking on the dyno so I dont rate them and spool rods offer good val for money I know guys making 1000 hp with them and no known failures yet but I live by a moto cheap is not good and good is not cheap. I have a set of je pistons in mine but the cp are superior these days
  5. mate no point in getting a ported head if your not chasing numbers a,stock head will make 1000hp no prob just replace the valves that were bent. From ford I think the intakes are $12 each and exhaust turbo ones are $25 plus gst and get it serviced will cost u no more than 500 buck with gaskets, would be good to do a set of springs whilst its out so add another 300 odd dollars but make sure a piston crown hasnt let go and has touched the valve or anything else sinister that has been mentioned above for the chain jumping, a tooth, either a broken sprocket or tensioner failure a siezed vct phaser will cause it to foul plugs and run rough and pop and do silly things. Must find the problem in order to rectify it . how much timing is your thing running on full advance These motors dont like to much timing 12 deg tops on full advance with pump fuel tops with 20psi. Did u notice any pinging? had my car tuned I wont say where and costed me a motor went and got vcm suite read the map and was on 20 deg advance that's death im no tuner but a mechanic for many years ... I now tune my own ...Just remember there are no professionals in this world and no one knows everything but there are alot of tossers that think they know everything

good on you arron I have put many 265 together the r/t balancer and romac copy of it are 2.5 inches wide to stop harmonics and are all steel and a stout 265 with head work could be spun to 8000 rpm no worries and how do I know cause I have one 430hp from a single carby in a centura hehehe ... Bcl is very right with his comment the only other way is to destroke the ford motor to maybe 200 cubes and this will work to reduce harmonics.
  7. The bottom end just goes for the ride .you need a good base if u wanna make power. its all about air speed in making a good combo therefore top half will make the power
  8. make sure your motor doesnt show any detonation ive seen the crowns break near the ring lands ...The cant handle much abuse like a good brand name piston... for eg je , cp

Dus12 if your motor makes that type of power with hydraulics then u must be an engineer and a half whats the secret ??? what rods are u running? what crank what cams u sound like a genius or u have a magic touch to putting a combo together how have u solved the cylinder leakeage problem champion , what gaskets are u using ? your block and head are they o- ring whats your clame to fame dude ... I know c & v very well ... and most of the big tuners and engine builders and have put many combos together myself ... Even Gas motorsports ditched there 2000hp power program for the ford because there was no way at least to solve these issues ... and I dont know where your car was dynoed at but if your is making 1044 hp atw dude your ute should be running 150mph plus and it should be in the low 9s high 8s and that's being conservative so let me tell u someting dude the dyno u put the car on is either on steroids or you cant drive it because it aint showing the numbers my friend.... The only real dyno is the track and dont you forget it. Mate I know the shop that does the heads for brad and they use a five axis cnc they just bought but a stock head will make 1000hp without doing any bowl work or short turns and I know the owner of the machining shop personally and brad aswell have known him for 20 odd years and u can ask brad himself because he knows the issues of the head . so I dont know what u are on about... and I know the guy himself who puts the motors together for brad so ill be question which tree are you barking up ?

brian where do I get a set of those lifters ive been doing some of my own r & d pull apart an old hydraulic lifter. Gutted it internally so I can use the base of it and in the centre I can turn down an old pushrod that will sit inside the base and threade to allow with a adjustment nut for lash ... that's the best ive come up with so far any hints what urs look like?????

a billet crankshaft may increase the rev range only marginally due to it being lighter and therefore lighter rotating mass . But what happens when u run out of lift on the hydraulics due to revs ... that motor would be making its peak power at 6 - 6500 rpm tops yes u can rev it to 8 but it wont make power to that just remember rev equals power a 2jz with hydraulic buckets will make power to 7000 rpm a engine with solids will make power to 10000rpm there fore making more boost cause it can make useable power
  12. Tuners can actually rectify the problem by decreasing the voltage to the pumps when at idle and giving the pumps total voltage when they are at open throttle vcm suite allows u to do this . at idle the can be quiet and at full swing the motor is too loud anyway . I guess that's the difference between tuners
  13. The 4litre being such a great motor still has a few flaws in its design where japanese motors still have an edge . we have seen many guys now producing significant power levels of up to 1100 hp where japanese motors are still ahead . For eg a 2jz will produce silly numbers of up to 2000+ hp from a 3litre and 3.4 litre have been recorded and rb26 1700+ hp The ford motor has the advantage of cubes being 4 litres but is restricted by the fact that the motor has troubles that it doesnt want to rev and make power like its derivatives. Most of these motors will make power to about 6000 rpm and then the power starts peeling off . A reason for this is its hydraulic lifters . Just say a set of adjustable solid lifter were put in there place lifting the bar and revving the motor to 9000rpm there fore in turn you will be able to take real advantages of cams and high boost levels and start making some silly horsepower numbers. I wonder who will be the first to address this problem Another let down that needs to be looked at is the clamping force of the head ,most guys that are up to 1000hp are experiencing cylinder leakage... Rectifying these two issues will see these engines turn into real powerhouses!
  14. almost it was 3am when I wrote it , and it was from my mobile hehehe
  15. I agree tocchi I run a hyper tune plenum on my 2jz they do make brilliant top end power I have tested normal ba manifold currently running a process west and an fg plenum .the results showed a 10 - 15 kw difference from midrange to topend with the fg yet im only running a st d turbo still at 21 psi dnt know what happens to the results when you wack a bigger pump on it. But on this level gee its for those chasing he last bit of 20hpa big price to pay for 20 horses
  16. It has proven and brad from atomic can confirm this the stock fg f6 plenum will outflow any of thaftermaket plenums y wste your money
  17. kyle just out of curiosity was this achieved on 1x bosch 044 with standard fuel rail
  18. if u guys are looking for decent injectors have a look at the injector dynamics type or the mike moran injectors can fill up a boat on a single injector no secrets here ppl that what im putting my money on dnt go round in circles
  19. completely different pcm mate std xr6 is a 2 plug tornado /typhoon is a 3 plug what are u wanting to achieve?
  20. heheheheh another bites the dust HA.let me give u gents some free advice usually an offf the shelf pcm does not have a vin number encoded to it because it is a replacement pcm ... your vin number will be open usually in the form of ############## a parameter reset will only code the computer to the keys and other modules in this case. if your car starts and runs then u will achieve nothing by doing this even if use fords ids as it took me months to cure this problem ....There is a feature in ford ids/vcm that manualy allows to pump a vin code in now this is sometimes successfull but it wasnt to mine lucky for hp tuners in the vcm editor there is a recalibrate for vin which manually allows ti give an identity to a pcm but dnt say to anyone I told u esp mario at vcm hehehehehe good luck guys ....
  21. ill swap my t56 mal wood shifter and a new option 5 clutch any takers
  22. this is definitely a bem module problem have seen this many times remember when u get another bem module it has to be grafted to your pcm otherwise car wont start and icc wont work bem is located under the cd player on the icc
  23. dont know how to help u I have been experiencing the same problems the last month car sits in traffic and just stalls . I re start it and stall s again .did it 6-7 times .. opened the bonnet felt the computer and it was so hot u could fry an egg on it . went and got a bo tttle of water poured it over the computer and drove off like nothing had happenend yesterday again same thing.its been doin this the last month often with this heat ...my gues the heat sinks in the computer are sh*t... ive scanned it checked fuel check spark everything is 100 percent .new fuel pumps new coils everything ...that's the only thing left ....think we will be up for a new computer
  24. was just wondering forrstd if any date has been confirmed
