  1. Happy Birthday AMoffat!

  2. Sounds like a mate paid too much 56K for a demo G6E that has done 10,000 klms.
  3. Mostly highway cycle I would get 10.2L/100 klms in the T Current car is a SV6 (don't ask) - in a 450 klm round trip of 98% highway usage today the read out is 8.6L/100 klms. But, there is a noticable differnce in power as well with 240 plays 190.
  4. Well I sold my car and at that price that car is not cheap.... Not in today's markey anyway
  5. Previously over twenty three years of riding all sorts of things - early on Jappas then Beemer airhead twins, still love these, I want to buy a R100RS from about 1980 when I rediscover a disposable income. Had Harleys and Ducatis. Currently I've got a Triumph Daytona 955i and my wife has a Triumph TT600. Sold the Turbo about two days ago, my wife is taking it really hard. Has made a momento out of the original D ring from the tow bar which I just discovered in the glove box when I was cleaning it out.

    Selling Your Xr6t

This is a good topic seeing as I just sold my car. On the 7th December 2002 I went and signed up for a turbo with about 7 grands worth of options. I paid full price as was the going rate back then. I then waited for five long months for the car to be delivered. It was a pleasure to own, the one problem was a clunky diff that ironically was replaced three days after a forum member here took the car for a drive. So in two and a half years and 62,000 klms why did I sell? For the economic sense of a company car - and a SV6 at that. It might take some getting used to.
  7. I must be a tight arse - I'd go option 2, definitely. Why take the extra hit of depreciation on option 1. What I would do is wait a month, then see what price option 2 is...
  8. Hope you are enjoying it, I drove that car and then tried the Mandarin GT that they had on the lot. The F6 was a clear winner, and I was all V8 set when I walked in and all. The GT was a disapointment I must say after the Blaze F6! A tighter, faster, smarter version of my XR6T.
  9. On resale values... Buying a new car is never a rational choice. Given the depreciation drop through the first three years. So I am not really complaining. As much as I am tempted to buy a FVP product the idea of shelling out another 25 to 40 grand is a little too indulgent for me. This would be real money as I don't have a business. The problem with thoughts like these is the rational thing for me to do is to sell my optioned '03 with 55K klms for $30,000. Which I think would be the going price. Then take the private usage option on a work vehicle. The thing is the nearest I could get to the T would be a SV6. Which doesn't do it for me.
  10. yer and I would be about as popular as crabs with the misses..... lol she would wanna get rid of me lol... I wanna keep my sex life thanks mate.. But yer I wish I could lol <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd be interested in your thoughts on the two cars - what attracted you to the Typhoon after having a GT?
  11. At lunch time I'd had enough of work for a while so I went and took a F6 then a GT for a test drive. The F6 is really nice. Much better than I thought it would be - I was one of those "it's just a tarted up Turbo" types. Loved the gear box. The GT felt different. Nice quick tourer but a little heavy feeling compared to the 6. Both cars felt more refined than my turbo. You can feel where the money went. I liked the GT but I can't see someting approaching a 40 grand change over in it. My optioned turbo isn't that far behind a GT. The F6 on the other hand is very tempting for the price - particularly the Vixen one for sale in Port Macquarie for $53,700.
  12. I've been coming round to the Typhoon scenario. I would buy one over the the HDT Clubbie. But at 43 perhaps I'm getting old.
  13. It was good to meet you all on Friday night. Too bad the Tigers lost...
  14. Have lost the plot I mean't this post...
  15. LOL <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry didn't read your post before I made mine. Totally agree.
  16. Guys you might need a history lesson... In the early seventies Ford had a colour for the XA Falcon range called Plum. This colour is a modern update. Same for Blaze and Phantom they are modern interpretations of older colours usually put on GT Falcons. Being a traditionalist this colour has meaning for me. That's my thought anyway. I love Phantom and don't mind Menace, it is darker on the colour palate on the web site which would be misleading if yu couldn't see one in the flesh.
  17. Maguires must make some money then... I use there shampoo stuff but's that's all as I bought the paint protection package which was probably a waste of money - I don't know it comes up nice but...
  18. In retrospect I was a little over the top the other night. Yes sh*tty things can happen to you - as I said when I binned a Ducati. I did jump to a conclusion and appologise if I upset the guy who lost the car...
  19. Then please explain... I have had traction "off" / right foot down / and lets see how fast my correction is on a wet road. But guess what? No other f*cker was around.. Stupid me, I should have made it exciting, right?
  20. The bikes called the Dayte, The car, the Turbster
  21. Let's get one thing straight.... Glad your OK. I usually ride a over powered motorcycle for transport and fun. There is no going back from mistakes. 189 kgs and 122 kws put through a couple of inches of Bridgestones makes you pay attention... f*ckin' getting amongst 240 plus in the wet is stupid. My insurance premium will thank you,,,,, f*ckin' not
  22. I'm off to take the Daytona out tomorrow... f*ck double demerit point weekends,
  23. I agree with Plonky's post... I'm early 40's and my son has been to Bali twice on surfing trips. He took his "quiver" of four boards in a large silver bag. No drugs. Just long uninterupted breaks and barrells gallor, that's why the surfers go there. At 19 he knew enough to stay away from the drugs bs. Chapelle, I don't know but it ain't looking good.
