What about - 'FANTOM'

I think that a limited edition Fairmont Sport with the turbo would be nice. Like a cross between the Luxury of the Fairmont and the sportiness of the beast. Not too bad at all!

I think the car looks pretty horn! The bonnet thingy would grow on you. After all it's different and that's what everyone wants. But I do think it would look better with one of these! Also they have more pic's on Herrods site. But I will attach them.

Redhawk! Where are you? Are you still in the 'GT'? How does she go? Like the wind I bet. Very green with envy. I knew I should have held up that bank for more money! Good work Red she looks sweet in RED! You don't see many in that colour.

Thanks for that guys. Yeh, I have spoken to you on the phone Ian, about a month ago just before I picked up my car. Seems to me that the chiptorque gear is the most common at the moment. They all seem to be very similar, just depends on where you are and how close the nearest tuner is. that's what I have come by in my research so far as everyone seems to be very happy with the mods that they have had put on there cars :w00t:

Here is a picture of dynosteve's car you can see his insert. It doesn't seem to be exactly the same as the upper grill but it looks close enough for me. I think I will going up there as soon as I get a chance to get one. Also there is this guy form the Queensland XR club who is making ones with an XR logo in them but his mesh pattern is closer to the FPV type I think. They are lazer cut from stainless I think have a look here. Queensland XR Club

I was wondering what upgrade everyone is running? (Redcliffe, APS, CAPA, Chiptorque, Nizpro. and in no order of my preferance). And what are there thoughts on the system thay have chosen, Good or Bad! :banghead:

Is it actually clear coated aswell! :cussing: Mine is only 4 weeks old and only has a matt black from memory, Doesn't matter too much though, as it is a black car.
-
I agree with aaronmihe, if it's not decked out with Herrod stuff, it just wouldn't be right. I think dynosteve is doing plain ones for about $150 from memory.

I had something similar, I was slowing down quite quickly from about 220km/h (private road of course) and and this funny shudder from the rear end I think. Kind of like the ABS couldn't keep up or something. Maybe it is the same thing that has happened to you. It hasn't happened again with general or spirited driving only from very high speeds that once. I havn't had any other sort of brake shudder yet, touch wood.

Where is Exotic Exhaust's? I'm thinking of having it done. What sort of difference does it make to performance, I have heard mixed results. Also how much does the note change?

I am personally torn both ways here. I think each to their own, and wouldn't mind the spoiler kit off the 'GT', but then again if I owned a 'GT' I would be a bit pissed off to see guys running around in XT's with GT kits. But I think Ford should have a spoiler upgrade kit for the XR's so you can go mild or wild but I do really think the kits should only be able to be for those paticular models. That way everyone is happy, GT boys and the guys with XR's that want that bit more, and sorry to those XT guys but they can go aftermarket. :banghead:

Wouldn't those stainless steel flaps reduce a fair bit of airflow to the radiator? Or is there still plenty of airflow from below? Looks good though, I have thought about one of these also, I wonder how it compares to say the APS cold air induction?

Thanks for your input guys. I spoke to an insaller yesterday and he said that he just cuts the speaker off and puts a spade bit onto the end and whammo its done, just plug her in. Sounds simple enough. Will post picks once done and I get a chance. does anyone know if the male side of the plugs can be bought from anywhere as I spoke to a guy this morning from local dealer and they dont sell them (weird I thought). As not sure if they are your standard type of 2 & 4 pin plug available form Supercheap etc. Has anyone done this or is everyone just using the spade bits and pushing them into the plug individally.

Hey Guys, has anyone installed a Nokia Bluetooth carkit into their 'T'? As I got my kit in the post yesterday and was checking it out last night and am unsure about one thing. I did a search and found the post done while ago and was very helfull with the car plugs and what each wire is for but my problem is, from the carkit module for the audio their is a single pin plug thingy and that goes directly to the speaker. Now as we know we have the plug already there for the audio to run through the car speakers. So can I just cut that wire to the speaker split the two lines if there are two and then connect them to the audio input for the car, thus keeping the right connection to the module. Or do I go to Dick Smiths and find one the same and run the two wires from the module that way, and then which is which. Has anyone found this and does anyone have any ideas or solutions.

Yeh its called the 'Clubman Circuit'. Have done the V8 experience there doing that track, and I tell you what BLOODY FANTASIC! I would love to give the 'T' a run around there depending on the cost. Also not sure how the standard brakes will hold up.
-
By the way good luck with your new car. I still go out and stare at mine through the office window periodically throughout the day!
-
I ordered mine on the 28/8/03 and picked it up on the 2/10/03. Not too bad, but had to relenquish the leather and premium brakes as the car was already scheduled for build when I ordered. I could only pick colours and other bolt on extras.

I have only had my car a week Sept 03 build and my tip looks like the one in the second pic. What do you guy's mean by old exhaust? Did they change? What did they change and does anyone know why they changed? Was it the whole system or just the tip?
