  1. Yeah, whether the brakes on the turbo and 8 are premiums, territory or something else again.
  2. Traction control is always on when you start your car. Even if you turned the tc off last time you used the car.
  3. How do they modify the rear bumper to fit this system? Is is just a simple matter of cutting the slot for the left hand outlets?
  4. Great stuff!

    Tyres - Got Them

Gee that sounds disappointing after spending that amount of money. Suprising that the Pirelli isn't better. Hope your experience in the wet is at least a good one. Do you still say they are quieter than the Dunlop SP3000A? Are you still planning to buy them for the rear?

    My New Tyres

Got a quote for $630 for the michelin ps2's , so just got some goodyear gs-d3's for $375 a corner. fair difference in price.
  7. I use that Belkin device. It has a volume control on it. I have the volume turned up to max and it matches the volume of CD and radio. I do get a bit of whine though.
  8. Yeah, they've got the internet on computer now. (Homer Simpson)
  9. I agree. He should drive around in the DB9 and tell Ford he'll have his GT40 back when they fix/replace/whatever the alarm system however long it takes.
  10. Thanks for the post cqae. I was wondering what they were like there. Looks like I'll give them a go next time cos the dealer I'm using now gives me the sihts.
  11. That could make you go blind.

    Tyres

Good point. Doesn't say. These would be my number one choice in tyres but so far have been too scared to price them in 245/40R18 .

    Tyres

flukeyluke, did you get the following info from your tyres: I note on the Maxxis website, it states the following: UTQG 280 AA A It appears to be identical to a Dunlop SP9000 if the website is correct. We are either getting tyres in Australia with different ratings, or the website is incorrect.

Interestingly, in the May 05 issue of Wheels, they state the Maxxis was the softest compound of the tyres tested. The Maxxis stopped the quickest in the wet in the above mentioned test.

    Tyres

I am interested to know more about these tyres as I am considering them when I need new tyres in a few months time. When you say they struggle for traction, are you implying that with the power of a T, any tyre would struggle for traction , or do you genuinely believe these tyres do struggle for traction, and if so, do you mean wet, dry, braking, take off, etc. I am also interested to know where they are made? Thanks.

    Tyres

The Dunlop FM901 won a tyre test in Jan 03 edition of Motor. They were tested in 235/45R17 on a BA XR6 NA. Results were: 1. Dunlop FM901 2. Pirelli P Zero Nero 3. Bridgestone S-03 4. Goodyear F1 GS-D3 5. Firestone SZ50 6. Hankook K104 7. Michelin Pilot Preceda 8. BF Goodrich Profiler G 9. Avon ZZ3 10. Toyo TPG 11. Simex SM9300 12. Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 13. Federal 589 The Dunlop FM901 is no longer available. According to the Dunlop website it was replaced by the Direzza DZ101, which interestingly finished down in 8th position in the recent tyre test in the May 05 issue of Wheels.
  17. Is this only the case for alloy pedals? The standard mk 1 pedals (rubber) are only slipped over the top. Can anyone with a mk 2 let me know whether the alloy pedals have the ford symbol on them, and if so, is it just on the accelerator pedal? Thanks.
  18. Yeah, can't wait. The suspense is killing me!
  19. Yeah, won't look any good with the standard crappy brakes. Will need at least premiums behind them as spokes are so thin.
  20. I always put my son in the centre, but now that he's nearly 2, I found the side easier as he's getting too heavy! Plus, baby no 2 was born two days ago so it'll be the sides from now on!! I think my son likes the T as well, walk into the garage with the two cars and he screams "Daddy's car!"
  21. Actually, I just checked out Ebay, the ones they're selling are new.
  22. Yeah, they might have wanted the third one as a spare on their own car.
  23. Probably doesn't help that they're worth so much. They're just asking to be stolen when they want about $600 a rim.
  24. That's interesting. The SP9000's on my car say: Traction AA, Treadwear 280

    New Rubber?

Which Kumho's did you have as a matter of interest? I am due for a new set soon. Hadn't considered the Sumitomo's but they seem a reasonable price. I got a quote for Toyo TPGs for $258 a corner. Anyone had any experience with these?
