Has anyone looked any further into this? The territory brakes are nice and big and thought it might be a cheaper alternative than the premiums. Notice the territory doesn't have those pathetic dust covers too. Hopefully Ford get their act together and put a decent set of brakes on the next XR6T and XR8. Admittedly, I have never felt the need for more braking in my T, but they just look so pathetic, specially behind a nice set of rims.

I was just wondering out of complete curiosity, when you option the 18" spare from Ford, what tyre does it come with? I wouldn't think the Dunlop SP9000 would be suitable for the spare considering it's directional.

When you say you have Superlow all round, are you indicating that there is more than one choice of King Spring for the front of the car? I know they have Low and Superlow for the rear (the Superlow levels the car out), but according to their site there is only one choice for the front as far as I can tell. King Springs cataloque I'm looking at getting my car lowered and am trying to make up my mind whether to go Low or Superlow at the rear.

A lot of wheel places are selling them. I saw the 18's at The Tyre Factory. The Tyre Factory I have also seen a mob from Greensborough selling them on Ebay. Just under a grand for a set of four 18" without tyres. Beats $600 a rim for the genuines I guess. The 18" copies are slightly different from genuine. The groove on the outside of each spoke is bigger on the copies.

Did mine today without the adapter plate. Thanks for all the posts guys. Made it so easy. Threw in a K&N filter as well.

There is a company making copies of both the 17" Mk 1 rims and the 18" rims. The EF/EL may have had the copies, or they could have been genuine rims with spacers as the offset is different. I saw an EF/EL today with BA GT rims. I think you'll find that the Magna you saw either had rims that looked mildly similar to BA 17", or they were the copies with a ROH centre cap on them cos it's not ROH that make them. Does anyone know, on the topic of rims, where I could find a genuine set of 18" BA XR rims at a reasonable cost? Nowhere I here you say as they are an expensive rim. I got a quote from a wheel place for around $3500 with a set of Hankook K104.

That scraping noise is back again! Anyone know any dealers around the city or nothern suburbs of Melbourne that actually know how to fix this problem? Getting sick of taking it back to my dealer. That's 4 times now. They obviously have no idea, or don't care, probably the latter. Geea, who's the guy that fixed yours?

I was under the impression this scraping noise that every second BA Falcon that drives past me makes was actually the drums for the handbrake. Now after reading this post I am confused. Is it actually the rear discs making this noise, and if so, what does it have to do with the handbrake? I got my shoosh shoosh noise fixed recently and I noticed after picking the car up the handbrake was only coming up about 3 clicks instead of about 8.

:lol: That reminds me, must ask them to fix the shoosh shoosh for the third time when it goes in for a service in a couple of weeks.

On the subject of brakes, are the only differences in the factory premium brakes over standard front and rear rotors, and front calipers? The rear calipers look the same.

I'm gonna try to get the dealer to fix it at the next service. Bloody annoys the hell outta me. Every second BA driving past makes the noise. Even heard a VY SS drive past me last week making the same noise.

I'd buy one in one of the nice colours you can't get XRs in. Blue pearl or luscious.

I get that shoosh shoosh sound too. I hear it every day in the car park. Is it the brakes dragging or something scraping or what? I heard two BA's go past me while I was sitting at a roadside cafe a couple of weeks ago. They were making the sound as well. I took mine to the dealer a couple of weeks ago as I had a score in the front left disc and thought it may be this making the sound. They removed the 'foreign item' from the brake pad as said it's all fixed. Yes well it's still making the sound. I was reminded of it this morning when a XR6T drove past me at a shopping centre making the noise as well. They must know what is making this sound and how to fix it if so many BA's are making this noise, surely?! My car has done it (as far as I can recall) from at least 2,500km. It has done 7,000km now.

And don't drive up people's arses!!!!!! That's beautiful. Even better, do it without the sign on, or even better again, in an unmarked car.
