  1. Well, Just got off the phone to Rob and we're talking about what can be done to my T. We're looking at starting off with the pistons and conrods as he has identified them as the weakpoint of the car. He's putting figures together as we speak so I'll keep you posted. I'll be seeing him this weekend so I'll ask what's doing with the bolt-ons and where he's up to with the kit everyone is waiting for. Cheers
  2. Getting close to the 30,000km service now and jhoping that I get the same increase in performance I got after getting it back from the 15,000km. Car felt tighter and heaps more responsive. Also, more of that important wheel spinning power...
  3. I actually bought the manual with every intention of changing the box. Personally can't stand auto's, love the feedback you get from driving a manual and I'm happy to spend the money on a replacement box.
  4. I'll be at Sydney but Melbourne is a little for to go for me....

The brakes themselves are to improve performance, the apint was just something that looked cool. You're right though, you wouldn't see it change colour so there's no real point

Found this while looking at brake upgrades. I like it but trying to figure out whether it will come under the rice heading or not. What do you think? http://www.apracing.com/roadcar/brakekit/tcfinish.htm
  8. I emailed Hollinger about a replacement and they never got back to me. Buggers obviously thought I wasn't serious. Want to upgrade that before I start thinking about mods.
  9. I think that a few people have mentioned before that dynos are only good for camparisons. Be it between a number of cars on the same day or the same car before and after any mods are done. There seem to be too many variables to compare between different dynos. Almost like comparing 0-100 times on different days and different track conditions.
  10. Not that I would race but I would normally rev to about 2500rpm to get a good take off..... Anything below that and you risk getting bogged - btw don't think about dumping the clutch, you'll either get wheelspin or bog depending on your revs. Plus it's not healthy for your gearbox.

Funny that you should say that since they replaced mine at my 15k service - no questions asked.
  12. Don't think launching will be aproblem... notice that the extra boost kicks in at 3500rpm so you wouldn't get excessive wheelspin at take-off.
  13. I'm actually ordering one of the FPV grills.... problem being it has FPV on the grill. Looks like I'll need to make some mods so that people actually believe the badge

If you want to believe that then I won't disabuse you.

I guess that's the beauty of my brother buying a pursuit ute.... I'll just use his VIN to get me some parts. Actually.... I could always mark the price up a little if anyone's interested in purchasing some spare parts :D
  17. That would be about right as rwhp generally equates to fwkw.
  18. /lurk mode off After 13000kms I'm running at 12.6
  19. Grant replied to a post in a topic in XR6 Turbo
    12.9L after 9000kms
  20. I let my 20 yo girlfriend drive mine.... But I do have to say I get repaid tenfold.
  21. mmmm that's right. If you wanted to spend $50k on plastic body kits then you really should have gone the SS... Maybe people like having the power under their bonnet without the obvious "sporty" look? I'm proud of my car but it's not because it's got a spoiler and some badges. GOt to be the most ridiculous thing I ever heard. If you're of that opinion why didn't you just get the XT, save yourself $20k and stick some badges and a body kit on it?
  22. Yeah, Optimax or BP Ultimate depending which servo I'm near when I need fuel.
  23. I'm definitely keen to get rid of the badges - spoiler too. Get the nice clean lines happening.

Had the same thing happen but never got around to posting about it... Basically the backfire forced pressure back up the line and abused the dump valve. Replaced it and good as gold. Mind you when I only had 3500kms on the clock I had a sleepless night wondering about it. Oh, and it only took five minutes to fix...

Pulled up at the lights on Old Windsor Road near Parklea last night where a young guy pulled up in a commy ute and admired my lovely lady. Wound down the window and he gave me the thumbs up, asked how it went etc. We the n agreed to a friendly which was all well and good. Just before the lights turn green I see Acid Rush turn onto our road and the red flash of a turbo badge. The lights went green and I smoked our young ute driver while catching up to Mr Acid Rush. Pulled around in front of him and gave a little wave (first time I've actually travelled next to another 6T) and at the next set of lights he pulls into the right hand turning lane. I wind down my window expecting to share the joy of owning a turbo with this guy and he stonewalls me! Doesn't even look my way. I was so pissed that I could enjoy having a nice car with a Expensive Daewoo driver and then meet a toss driving a 6T who wouldn't even look over and give a smile. What is up with that? :cussing:
