I want to do the test n tune and might do the gladdy dyno day
-
hey david keep me posted on what info you get with rocky boys on diff work cause I'm pretty sure mines starting to show signs of abuse from my spirited driving, I was looking into getting mal wood to fix it just before powercruise but if locals can do a decent job why not. you going to be running you car at motormania drags night? carl
-
I'm running 350rwkw with standard dump and 5" cat 3.5" exhaust, depends how far you wanna keep pushing the power levels if your going big in the long run do it when you do the cat
-
not trying to start fights but know of 2 cars that have been stuffed around with the new owners of stitts, both blown 8's though. I'm another gladdy owner though who thought the drive to mackay for dave to tune was worth it when your ready to play with your new car, enjoy it buddy they are fun cars
-
yeah my options where PRE dyno in mackay and tuned by dave aka blueboost or hightorque in goldy as I know they both do good cars. heard a story the other day that gladstone dyno tunning are getting some results out of their test xr6turbo up to 420rwhp on 12-14psi something like that, if anyone seen that silver ute with the shaker on the bonnet that goes to the drags that's the one they playing with

I'm so driving down from central queensland just to see these mammoth cars in action makes my 350rwkw seem like a toy haha -
Positives And Negatives To 300+ Rwkw Xr6T

tyres are the main downfall as I replace my rears every year at best which kinda gets annoying and if your running your car hard it takes its toll on the rear end in my opinion diff bushes wear fast, but even with that I still love having my 350rwkw and drive it everyday carl -
I agree with anchor and his clutch choice, I originally had a mal wood option 3 and when it started slipping I rang NPC and told him what I do and got a really good big single clutch, never had a problem with it yet. not sure if I met you or not yet man I remember a couple of years ago a heap of boost cruising blokes came down to tannum for the day and we went for a drive around the place. carl

hey man not sure what I'm going to be doing anymore have to make a couple of trips down to brissy over the next month or so, basically its if I can afford to head out I will. Yeah man next time your in town you will have to come over and check our new house out and now our new puppy "turbo" haha
-
I'm hoping to have my new diff bushes in place for the next round of test and tune to give them a flogging. got some new bushes to test coming from pat and thanks to superpro so hopefully these ones will be better ,so far I only have 65,xxx kms on my car and seem to tear the standard ones apart pretty easy

I'm thinking of heading out for a look in with my turbo but its a 3 hr drive from here and I have never been to emerald I'm still not sure. I know for a fact the ford mackay club are also talking about going out there for a look and they have some nice rides
-
just wondering what are they made from fibre glass or plastic and I'm guessing that they wouldn't fit over the standard holes ford drills out for the spoilers

+1 for kumho ku31's nice street tyre in my opinion, got a full set of 245/35x19's on my car
-
f*ck yeah good effort with the car dude will have to organise a cq cruise one day and get all these cars out. Also dave does a awesome job he got the big power out of mine as well. carl
-
I'm thinking I might head out to the drags as well, not sure if I will be racing or not though
-
yeah that's brett kelly's one, the best he has run with the new set up is 10.2 on the 1/4 mile.
-
had mine at a dyno day here in gladstone today and belted out 486rwhp not bad for my daily driver hey. came 3rd place overall only 2 cars beat me and both are *street legal* drag cars a 597rwhp skyline and 650rwhp twin turbo falcon brett kelly's one
-
BF xr6 turbo 6 speed manual fairly modded but still daily driven 350rwkw on command but on highway will still do roughly 9lts per 100kms and driven quite on city roads 13lts per 100kms
-
mines a bit of all sorts, started off as a mal wood option 3 clutch which was awesome but the ppl who put it in didn't do it right so it wore out in like 4 months so then I rang NPC and got them to upgrade what needed fixing cause mal was annoying me nothing personal against him though
-
if ya need tonys shop details just pm me and I will send them to ya and hopefully not upset any mods on here. I wont be able to check my account this weekend though as I will be in Mackay with tony and the ford club but will check again sunday night when I get home
-
I trust tony 100% with my car that's why its still sitting in his workshop in mackay. They do all the work for me and cant complain at all but everyone has their own favourite place so I wont brag to much. umm my list of mods I will try to remember as its been a long build up: BF mk1, 6 speed manual, 50k's on the clock mods so far driveline: hybrid clutch it started off as mal wood stage three then upgraded, fully adjustable coilover suspension go fast bits: process west stage 2 kit (cooler, cold air intake, crossover piping), atomic valve springs, 60lb deka injectors, 12lb wastegate actuator, two fuel pumps one walbaro intank and one bosch 044 with process west surge tank, 5 inch cat and single 3.5 inch exhuast, dave aka blueboost tuned. that's the general idea of whats in it now and if I remember anything else I will put it up. they did have it to 380rwkw @ 20psi but like mattyb says they tune it back so its not so much on the limit but still a seriously fast car. carl

picking my car up this weekend from PRE dyno in mackay all the work is done and dave has had his fun with the tune. Ended up settling with 353rwkw and round the 1000nm of torque which should make it fun to go get the milk and bread from the shops with. Goin on some car cruise to a car show just out of mackay this weekend if anyway is from up that way if not will see ya's all at the next drag meet will be good meeting some people and seein what others have done. carl
-
yeah I have a mate up in townsville bonjaz that has the same kinda set up as you but has a 3g stally installed with his as well and has managed a 11.6 so far with semi slick tyres on his street car which is farkin quick. I up for the next drags as well if people are keen to meet up for the next test and tune
-
so how did everyone go at the drags on the weekend I ended up in brissy for it so I never made it out there. Sounds like fast times 12.5 that's a fun street car, what transmission you have in your car. Hoping to be bringing mine back into town next weekend its going onto the dyno again tomorrow for another power tuning session with dave so if all goes better this time I will be happy. carl
