1. Spotted VANDRS (ORSMXRT) on the Monash around the High St ramp this morning. Not sure if you saw me, I tried to give you a quick wave but as you could probably tell I was later than hell for work Car looks mad btw.
2.
Mmmm stockpiling parts for one big mod session
It's a double edged sword though isn't it!? The anticipation is a killer. I've got a Rapid cooler kit, a set of Dekkas and soon to have this cat sitting in my office, just need to get the coin together for a retune THEN I'll be happy.
3. Watching tennis??? I'd rather go hunting with Dick Cheney.
4. Is it a bad thing that I want to make sweet, gentle love to that engine bay?

I've seen that Bud Dwyer one on Terrorists, Killers and Middle East Whackos. Messed up sh*t.
6. I lol'd but not because it was funny. Welcome, I guess. *waits for a joke about Premium Brake Packages*
7. f*ckin' oath! Just as an aside, my Mrs. works for the Mornington Shire Council and they have a rating system to describe the level of fire danger on a particular day. A rating of 50 is classed as HIGH FIRE DANGER. The other day she received an email at 7 in the morning stating that the rating for the day was 90!! In the words of one of her senior workmates, it would've been a miracle if there wasn't some kind of fire that day... Scary shiiiii
8. I really should get my handbrake fixed.... It literally has no effect anymore so the pin is all that's holding my car back from ending up in the neighbors loungeroom >_<

Yeah we've looked at a 5-6 open inspections so far, just for research purposes and all of them have been quite well attended. But it seems that there are still bargains to be had. Quite a few "MUST BE SOLD"'s floating around.
10. I heard 2nd hand that the fire has flared up again this morning with the wind... It's pretty close to my place too so I'll be watching pretty intently. The dogs are the only thing of REAL value at our place but they're enough to make me attempt a Hawthorn to Karingal run in record time. Awesome piccies too Mick.
11. The quality of their gear looks pretty damn incredible but f*ck me dead, it looks like my mum made their website... It's so damn bad.
12. It'll need to be welded in by an exhaust shop mate. They'll have to fab up a Y-piece to get from the single outlet of the cat into the stock twin 2.25" pipes for the rest of the zorst.
13. Yeah man, count me in. Have to wait until mid-Feb to pay though if that's cool. Probably buying a house soon, so I'll have to slip this one past the Minister for Finance & Fun if possible hehe.

Thanks again to all. The meeting with the broker went well. We're in the process of pre-approval now and are looking pretty good in terms of the green light. The only downfall may be that the girl has changed jobs just before christmas but we're pretty sure a letter from her employer saying she's safe in her job (f*ckin' public servants get looked after...) will seal the deal. Now just gotta find a place with a nice big garage
15. That spillway is down near where I grew up in South Gippsland. It's a pissant town called Korumburra. It's actually not good for anything as we found out later that day... There are some big metal spikes at the bottom (look like those one directional tyre spike strips in some carparks). They're just under the waterline so I guess they're meant to catch anything big that floats off the top of the reservoir. My mate did a particularly fast run in an inflatable dhingy and the spikes punctured the boat and his leg. We probably should've checked out the bottom first but I think we were sketchy on getting busted for trespassing so we kinda just hucked it. Water smelt like a dead dog's dick too I was sure our cuts would get infected but they didn't.
16. My mate went to NY last August and said there were 2 major highlights. One was a helicopter tour over the city. It was expensive but if you can afford it, I'd say it's not something you'd regret. The photos from the chopper are absolutely insane and he couldn't stop raving about it. The other was he went up to the top of the Rockerfeller Centre and said it was only like $20 and well worth the cash.
17. No but I play on PC too. What's your xfire? I'll add ya next time I'm on.
18. Holy sh*t dude... you live off Dandy/Franga right? Am I going to come home to a pile of ashes in Karingal???????
19. LMAO! 10pts

Thanks for the responses so far dudes. I genuinely appreciate the honest opinions. For and against. One thing I'm certain of, is if we end up acting soon, it will be in an ultra-cautious manner, that's for sure. The bizotch just called me and *surprise!* we're having another meeting with the mortgage broker tonight so we'll see what eventuates from that. Please, keep the discussion going if anyone has more to add. I'm sure there are a number of others in a similar situation to me and my girl and if they're anything like us, they'll be grateful for any info they can gather. It's sad but the thing I'm most excited about is, if we buy our own place I'll actually have a garage for the T so it can stop living on the streets! LOL
21. Major bummer dude :( Will you go for a standard rebuild or toughen it up so you don't have to worry about it in future? I'll be watching this thread, taking notes for future reference...

Long winded post incoming >.< Before I start, I have to let you all know that I'm just a dumb kid when it comes to this type of gear. I have very little financial knowledge so please forgive my ignorance and humor me if you can be f*cked. Me and my Mrs. of 5 years are currently living in a rental property that belongs to her cousin who is currently overseas (=cheap rent). The cousin is expected back in about August/September of this year so we will have to vacate the premises by June/July at the latest. Now a number of factors, including advice from a few family members, etc. have led us to believe that the next logical step would be to purchase a house, rather than continue renting. On the surface (and to a layman) it seems like conditions may be quite good at the moment. Interest rates expected to be cut again in the next month, bringing them to 40 year lows (apparently?). The extra bonus to the First Home Buyers grant (which I hear may end in july??). Property seems to be a buyers market at the moment with many people selling homes at the lower end of their price spectrum. And lastly, the area we'd like to buy in (Frankston-South in Melbourne's S/E) is well and truly on it's way up in terms of property value, however there are currently still streets where you can buy a $300k property (in good condition) in between two neighbouring $400k+ properties. There is also talk of a new BIG $$ marina being built in the immediate area which shouldn't hurt property values. So I'm basically looking for constructive criticism on the idea of buying in the next 6 months. Any reasons why it's a bad idea, any advice on how to go about it and basically anything that we should be weary of. I should also add that we spoke to a mortgage adviser in the middle of last year and he basically told us that with the first home buyers grant, we would need to add in roughly $10k of our own in order to get things rolling. We have $14k set aside at the moment. He also told us after calculating our existing debts and our combined income, that we could theoretically borrow something like $450k or something ridiculous like that... We realise the absurdity of that and would never be stupid to enough to borrow that much in our situation. We've done the sums ourselves and we're pretty sure that we could manage the repayments on $300k - $320kish as an upper limit. We're both pretty daunted about it all yet excited at the same time. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Clem
23. Was just thinking about thermostats yesterday with the heat here in Melb. I've got a lower temp version fitted (can't remember what temp but it's the one that Mick usually fits to T's). When I have the AC on, on a hot day, the fans are running a lot of the time whilst driving. Obviously that's the idea but do we need to worry about the fans wearing out prematurely because of it?
