Relocate Battery To Passengers Side
Make sure you did your ground well, I've done the same thing and put my battery to the other side but I did it myself and didn't earth it properly, fairly sure that's why my car is now spazzing out and has 1000 electrical gremlins.

Tuned Zf.......its Here
Interesting... Who's the best for tuning around Brisbane? I think my gear box needs to be looked at, it slips and carries on and I had it rebuilt only a few months ago

Ecu Fault Codes. Speed Sensor Issues. Faults Wont Clear.
They've checked the battery, to which I replaced the old one with a new one, but I think that's all. They've checked out the alternator, to make sure it's still charging etc and it is. The car is booked in Friday to have the battery moved and the earth sorted, I'm hoping that's all it was/is!!

Ecu Fault Codes. Speed Sensor Issues. Faults Wont Clear.
Thanks mate, that's a step in the right direction - I'd say that the battery isn't earthed properly at all, which is my own silly fault! Will let you know how I go!

Ecu Fault Codes. Speed Sensor Issues. Faults Wont Clear.
Also, every time I put down 1/4 or 1/2 (or more obviously) my ABS, Battery & Traction light all illuminate for a few seconds and then my speedo stops working.

Tell Me About This Data Log
Ah right, I had a boy look while reading your post lol. Any chance you could find out? Cuz ive got a sneaking suspicion that since I moved my battery (just from one side to the other) my problems have arisen.

Tell Me About This Data Log
Exactly the same as mine - once she warms up its all good. Might sound strange, but is your battery in the factory location? EDIT You've got a battery relocation, what kind? In the boot? Or just to the other side? I've been having issues since moving my battery, im thinking the grounding must be sh*t, or, the motor isn't grounded properly!

Ecu Fault Codes. Speed Sensor Issues. Faults Wont Clear.
Morning all, Picking my car up later this afternoon, but went and collected a few bits of paperwork yesterday so that I can post it here, and hopefully get somewhere. As you can see in the attachments below, my car keeps spitting out fault codes. Some are able to be cleared and go away, never to return, others just keep coming back and causing more headaches. The biggest problem is the speed sensors; all 4 modules at the wheels are fine, the gearbox etc is fine, but there is an issue with the communication between the speed sensors and the computer. On top of that, things like my central locking now doesn't work, I have to manually lock and unlock the car, the battery light and ignition button stay illuminated, even though there is no alternator or ignition problem that can be found!! My car has spent hours at ChipTorque and at another mechanic who has recently bought a huge Ford diagnostics kit. The only problem is, these guys can get so far, then cant see any further or cant get any further, and this I'd expect needs to be done by ford OR someone who used to work at Ford, that knows what they're doing. Is there anyone in the Ipswich/Brisbane/Coastal areas that knows what they're doing? I'm sick of spending money on tunes and diagnostics to just get no where! Any advice would be awesome. Just a run down, the car is a BF F6, 4" exhaust, cooler upgrade, injectors blah blah blah. Have the battery relocated to the other side of the engine bay, probably needs to be done a bit better, would that cause any problems? Please help :( lol

My car has the same surging issues, but only does it in 6th gear :\ seems to go up and down around 100rpm while cruising along.

Speed Sensor / Gps Module
Going thru tunnels and the pov packs - that makes alot of sense (I didnt think of that myself). I think what they're talking about might be a point for the factory optioned GPS to be installed into - if this is f*cked with, it some how plays with the speed sensors? Im not sure if they've been checked or tested, but im thinking surely if they're doing all this fault testing they'd have checked them too??? ugh just want it fixed!

Gps Plot Point / Speed Sensor
Hey all, I created a thread only a few hours ago in Audio/Visual about my after market head unit possibly causing problems, but it might not be that. I have a speed sensor issue. It seems that between the speed sensor at the wheels and gearbox there is a problem, however it could be related to my GPS Plot Point. Apparently this is fitted in all premo sound fords but isn't always connected, and if this is spliced into for power, or completely disconnected, it can cause speed sensor issues. These issues range from the car running like sh*t, to the battery light coming on on the dash. Now, get this - a few times my speedo has just died, and it recently did this at the auto eleci today too. Now, when he noticed the speedo had died, he did some more test - the car ran perfectly. No battery issues, no coughing and farting, ran like a dream. Turned the car off and back on, the speedo was working again, and it ran like sh*t. What the f*ck is going on? Im getting so over this car lol. Thanks for any help guys.

Speed Sensor / Gps Module
Hey all, I have an 06 BF F6, with premium sound. I had an aftermarket head unit installed probably 18 months ago, and since around then, I've had alot of computer issues. The main one being speed sensor issues and them not being able to be cleared. My tuner (ChipTorque) suggested maybe the people who installed the headunit f*cked up and tapped into the standard GPS unit in the premo sound, which apparently is what the speed sensor uses to gauge its speed. If this is the case, will this be causing my speed sensor issues? and if so, what do I do? If its not from the head unit, any ideas? I had no idea where to post this. Im so over my car having problems :( up to $25k in repairs now! Cheers,

Time To Build A New Motor
No idea :\ my mechanic hasn't seen it before, he said it could be down to poor oil, service and maintenance when it started life as a highway pursuit car. Sounds like this might be the thing to do.... thanks for the info guys I guess his contact details are on here somewhere? Found their website, the 698 sounds perfect, will be calling them this arvo

Time To Build A New Motor
Hey guys! So, to cut a long story short, my BFII F6 Typhoon is cactus :( for some time, the cams have been scoring on the rollers and slowly wearing away. As a result, all inside sensors are covered with metal shavings and are rooted, the cams are rooted, and the whole engine is pretty sick. Perfect time to build something fun/powerful/insane So, I've taken the car off the road for the mean time while I have the motor done. I'm looking for ideas on where to go / what to do. To give you an idea, mods so far are a full 4" stainless exhaust, 3.46 diff gears with a full billet diff, recently rebuilt gearbox and a few other goodies like PWR intercooler kit, 42lb injectors and a few braided lines. I'm going to have the cooler done (it needs upgrading) and will be swapping the injectors to 60lb. The turbo has been ported and has the upgraded actuator, I'll also be getting a high mount manifold for it made up by my exhaust shop/mechanic. So this is what ive got to work with so far, all of this should be able to be tuned pretty high once a tough motor is in. So basically I need a block and head, and I wanna do a full built one. Is it cheaper to buy from somewhere, a complete motor? Or have what ive got now rebuilt? My mechanic has offered me a recently rebuilt XR6T block. All new stuff with scat rods and standard pistons, he's said we'll want to upgrade the pistons to some better & stronger ones, all up for that would be $4k. The head will need to be reco'd with new cams, so I'll have it ported & polished, good head gasket & big cams (more for the sound than the 20~kw). Expecting this to be $3k with cams. So round figures $7k on the motor so far - seems alot, can I buy something built for this? Sorry if none of that make sense, but I hope someone can help I need all the help and info I get at the moment! Thanks in advance everyone! Im in Ipswich just out side Brisbane too

Oops I Did It Again :(
This is what they think it may be, the computer is showing errors for both cams, so if those things snapped I think it'd be rare for them to have snapped on both cams (what the mechanic said too) so hopefully just that.

Oops I Did It Again :(
Ok, so, now that I've done my diff, gearbox and umpty dozen things other things I've now managed to break my cam shafts! There were 6 fault codes up, my mechanic serviced it, and now just the 1. I cant remember the code, but its come down to either a wiring fault, or something on the end of the cams has come off. If something on my cams have come off, it means replacement time :( so my question is, is it worth replacing the cams with aftermarket 'Turbo cams'? Such as these - http://www.kpmauto.com/tabid/221/CategoryID/15/List/0/Level/a/ProductID/49/Default.aspx?SortField=ProductName%2CProductName (Sorry if we have a site sponsor, please replace link if so). Probably means the phoon will get parked it the shed, de-rego'd and put a tarp over it and ill come back to it when I can be arsed, im sick of it now :( Cheers, mitch.

Uggh, More Problems With My Zf
Ugh replied in wrong topic.... They are just a GMax wheel, cost me $2100 posted with tyres brand new so they're only cheepies for now. But 8.5" fronts and 9.5" rears with 245/30 on the front and 255/30 stretched on the back. The multi stud doesnt really bother me, gives me a few extra options when I go to off load them - (IE. If they're gutter f*cked someone will LOVE them for their VL etc etc) Might see you guys thursday night :D

Uggh, More Problems With My Zf
Yeah I know it was fairly expensive, but it was at my mechanics getting other work done, so he took the box out and took it to Bob Grant, so it would have cost me Bob's price + transport + workshop labor and other bits and pieces. Just glad to have her back lol. And didnt give Harry's a thought but yeh might just come down for a visit, will you be there? Be good to see a few faces and meet some new people!

Uggh, More Problems With My Zf
Cant edit my above post for some reason, so just adding this too : Edit: Just went out and had a look to double check it had the oil cooler put in and couldn't see it, so I rang my mechanic and he said they've just replaced the heat exchanger. Speaking with gearbox re-builders and a few tuners, they recommended not to put it on due to the temperature control system the ZF runs and the high possibility of blowing it up.

Help = ( Zf Issues
Stuck it out with the auto, had it rebuilt after learning the only reason it died was the heat exchanged leaked water into the gearbox fluid. Dunno if I'll keep her or sell her now :( Anyways, this is her back :D lol - more info in this thread too

Uggh, More Problems With My Zf
Well got the car back yesterday afternoon, it sure is a hell of alot better than it was before. I still have issues, the gearbox computer still thinks that 3rd and 5th gear are slipping. Ford and a number of tuners have tried to get it into 'learn' mode and even tried flashing it all back to standard configuration but no luck yet :( So hopefully after driving it for 500-1000k's it'll start to learn (so ford says). Total bill was $5.5k for a huge rebuild, oil cooler and a few other bits and pieces. If anyone wants info on where I got it done just PM me and thought I'd throw this in
