  1. We get about the same as Raptor, averaged over many thousands of km of driving which includes 40% town/60% counrty we hover around 13.5lt/100km. Glad l am not paying for it as reckon that's pretty Wonder how bad the Turbo Terri will be
  2. If you are concerneed about resale dont buy a Ford, as much as it pains me to say it, you will always be on a losing thing come offload time Ford is driven by volume and will give whatever discounts, incentives etc that are needed to move cars, resale will always be poor while this is their approach. No reason to think its going to change. With petrol at $1.40, the aussie dollar looking shaky and potentially going south all it would take is the seppos to have a go at Iran and we could easily see $2.00 petrol. Falcons will then be almost unsaleable. Cheers
  3. Not sure who you work that one out Zap, bugger all difference between Sydney and Melbourne. The important difference is that greater Sydney occupies roughly half the geographic area that Melbourne does, hence the greater congestion. l could not live there, prefer to be a bush dweller as Johny farkwit would rather have us known
  4. Thanks for posting the pics Aeron l went to the historics at Phillip Is in Feb, it was a bloody great day. Saw the Nissan in a couple of your pics above run, it was impressive and nearly unbeatable. Seems to be a lot more Holdens than Fords in these events for some reason, no shortage of A9X's and XU-1s running.

    Ed Kuepper

He sure is a legend of Aussie alternative music and bloody prolific. l havent heard any of his stuff from the past 5 years or more, Triple JJJ used to give him a good slab of airplay before they started playing a lot more puss. l have a couple of his albums from the mid to late 90's, they still get the occasional spin Cheers

    Gut Feel

Phew Itec, you scared me there for a minute This is a good time to bring the rule of 72 into this; if you take the number 72 and divide it by the yearly return on your investment the resulting number is the number of years it takes to double your money. So if we take the all ords return of 9.65% over the past 22 years then we get a doubling every 72/9.65 = 7.5 yrs ie. about the same as property. Hence why there really is no corect answer, both property and shares are good, both have good and bad points, the most important thing is that you are doing something. We each have different risk profiles, skills and desires hence share suit some, property others. Going back to the term deposit example if we assume you can get a 4.5% return then it takes 72/4.5 = 16 yrs to double your money. So over a 32 yr period if you invested 100k into a term deposit you would have 400k, if into shares/property 900k (ignoring tax of course).

    Gut Feel

Merc, my gut feel remains with property. l have dabbled in the sharemarket and done ok but get much more satisfaction from owning property and, after the big run the s/market has had over the past couple of years, would be leaning back towards property. While its true the property market is flat you need to find the pockets where the opportunities still are. l like propoerty because over the long term you are always going to double your money about every 8 years and your invesments value can never go to zero like shares. Of course l fully expect someone else to post something 100% opposite to my thoughts but we are all different with different risk profiles and tolerances. A skilled share investor who micro manages their portfolio can easily outperfrom property, l just dont have the energy or interest to become one of them. Cheers

    New Gtho

Production is the key word here, not to take anything away from Xtreme's car, l would love to go for a blast myself
  9. Seeing a broker is the best option, ensure they cover a wide range of banks and other lenders and ensure that they are giving you a good cross section of the loans available. Checkout what mortgage originator they are affiliated with, that will tell you if they are truly representative of whats out there. Its a much better idea than going from bank to bank

    New Gtho

To put it in proper perspective you need to consider that at the time a HO3 had 380hp the base 6 cyl XY had 130hp so near enough to triple. Can you imagine buying a production Falcon these days with triple the 190kw of the base 6? that's why the HO was such a significant vehicle at the time.
  11. Good looking car and l agree that the BF alloys look tough, much better than the earlier 17" efforts. HgAg is still available, bloody hell
  12. Hey Mondie, As a note have you checked out the latest Australian Muscle Car? The one with the Brabham Fairmont on the front? I found it interesting it had the same ignition cut-out in the front guard that your mighty one ( ) has. Lumpy Yeap, saw that Lumpy, only the 3rd car l have seen or heard of with it. Very rare option that's for sure. Its actually so uncommon that most people have no idea of what it is or how it works, actually kinda makes it useful as a deterent. Jeff, l agree its really only worth the base car in its current state plus the value of the parts, hence why the parts have such a significant bearing on the replicas value. Cheers
  13. Darren, Its value could vary wildly depending on what parts are original and what are repro's. The prices of some genuine items are getting pretty crazy these days so the originality of these items is a big price determinant. l have seen replicas advertised from 15-50k, the 50k car had a lot of original items hence the big difference. Can you post some pics? Cheers
  14. How do you know the guy was DUI? refused breatho when arrested, blood test performed 5.5 hours after the incident and shown .064BAC and positive for drugs. First l have heard of that, what a Terrible situation for all involved, l dont know how emergency services can attend a scene such as this and live normal lives and continue to help others. Amazing strength.

  16. l knew l saved this one for a special occasion 4000 is a big contribution from someone who posts quality instead of crap! Who_farking_cares.bmp
  17. l was all set to get one of these in my new Liberty but the bloody McIntosh headunit was not compatible l went the cheap option and got a Blueant Supertooth ll portable hands free, its suprisingly good and l can swap it between cars which is There is a company in Braeside called ASL logistics that live eat and breath Fords for car kits, DVD installs etc. They fit this kit so l would give them a call, l was impressed with their proffesionalisim and knowledge even if they could not fit one for me.
  18. Flint occasionally post on fordforums.com.au, his username is "happy jack" You could go there and send him a PM or maybe even start a thread there, he will see it. NAME THE DEALER, the bastards deserve to be known
  19. Good point Dags On our recent 2500km trip along the GOR, Adelaide etc we averaged 14lt/100km, 90% of that was open roads with the CC on Hate to think what the turbo will manage but it wont be pretty. Heard the price could be $69k for the Turbo Ghia, sounds a bit high to me,
  20. Good onya Ford, its been rumoured for a long time now But that bonnet scoop, that looks like RRP on the Turbo Ghia would have to be at least $60k l would reckon.
  21. Its not all bad Macka, you can enjoy a little quality now

    Zap's F6 Is Here

Nice choice Zap, l hope you got a good one Shunt should be a thing of the past with the auto. Looking forward to your full guts and all report. Cheers
  23. That would be our next recession trigger for sure.
  24. Dont think we are going to see the oil price ease like it did after past oil price scares, the dynamics are different this time around l reckon. Ford and Expensive Daewoo need to address this issue or they are going to be hit hard in the next 5 years. l just bought a Subaru Liberty GT Sti and aprt from all the other things l like about it, the car only weighs 1435kg and gets around 8.6lt/100km with a mix of city and country driving. l reckon that's remarkable for a car with such grunt and AWD. China and India have changed the oil supply/demand equation forever and when you throw in the instability in the ME, the oil price has the ability to rise 20-30% very quickly. l reckon the price has as much chance of being at US$50/bbl as US$80+ by the end of this year as geopolitical events unfold. If it made it to US$80 and the exchange rate moved against us, Ford/Expensive Daewoo would have to give their big cars away as petrol soared to above $1.60/lt.
