Turbo Fuel Economy
Dont know how you guys get the low l/100km. Im nearing 10000km and without reseting the trip cpu its sitting on 17.3l/100km. It has been as low as low 16's but that's it. Most of my driving is around Chadstone area in Melbourne, either the car is drinking too much or it could be possible that my right shoe could be a bit heavy. If its the shoe I think I better take it back and get some lighter ones. :D

Which Exhaust Would You Recommend?
I spoke to one of the people at the dealer today and looks like I cant get anything in writing. I'm going in to see him tomorrow. He said that if they havent tested the change its hard to give a guarentee. He also said that they have a stage 2 modification (must have stage 1 then too you'd think) that I think he said gives 340fwkw. I'll learn more tomorrow and when I do I'll let everyone know what I find out. B)

Which Exhaust Would You Recommend?
Hi BLKXRT, all good here very busy atm but all good. I'm looking forward to the dyno day too.

Which Exhaust Would You Recommend?
I am in the process of getting a written guarentee that removing the center muffler and putting the straight through pipe wont affect the warrenty on the rest of the car. Once the dealer gives me this I'll be doing this mod.

Mercury Silver
I'm more than happy with mine. I have polished it a few times and haven't seen any problems. The car looks great in any light and being a lighted color really highlights the body kit. I saw a Black XR6na the other night and in the dull street lights the body kit wasnt that noticable, where as with the Merc silver it still stood out. The tinted windows really finish it off too and in my opinion are a must. Hope this helps

Modification And Effect On Insurance
Just spoke to my insurance company. (AAMI) I told them I was looking at putting a tuning chip in the car (told them was a Unichip), and if this would affect my policy. The lady on the phone put me on hold and checked with a supervisor. I was told that its fine and that when I get it done to notify them. No increase in premiums either. I asked for a letter, the operator said that it would be listed on my file, that I had already asked about the mod and been approved. AAMI rating 1 for life. 38yrs old. Melbourne inner eastern suburbs. (East Malvern) $707 per year. No drivers under 25. ( I like that part it means I have a valid reason for not letting my younger mates drive the "T")

Finally Ordered My Xr6t - Now For The Wait.
The wait is hard, but when you finally drive out of the dealers its all forgotten and your over the moon. Dont let the wait get you down either cause the car will arrive sooner or latter and then it's all good.

Yet Another Arrival
Enjoy the "T". It only gets better. When you have done a couple of thousand km's it all free up and goes even harder. Had mine nearly 4 months and still can't wipe the smile from my face.

Just A Thought
Dear olcoolone, welcome to the board. I believe that all cars are different and that there is a car out there for everyone, (that we can afford). People want different things out of cars and most people have some limit to what they are prepared to spend on their chosen mode of transport. My wife has a 2001 RX subaru cause she likes smaller cars that look sporty (and we couldnt afford the "W"). My father-in-law, drives a 2002 330 BMW ( this car is a work of art but its still a small car). I bought the "T" cause I like powerful big rear wheel drive cars. I've had my "T" for nearly 4 months and I'm still over the moon with my purchase, haven't had a problem. I'm also more than happy with the quality of the finished product and the features that it has. The same goes for my wife and her dad. All three of us researched what was out there and bought the car that we most wanted within our budget. I would have loved a brand new BMW M5 but I didnt have the extra $150k I would have needed. When I ordered my "T" (oct 2002) I had never been to these boards and bought it after test driving a BA XT, I figured if the base model is this good the XR6T must be amazing, I haven't been disappointed. From reading your posts here, you appear to be well educated, intelligent and reasonably well off. You have also had the benefit of researching this board (and possibly others), before choosing which car to purchase. You are obviously aware of most faults the "T" has (even ones not on this forum). I would assume that you have also researched the European and japanese cars aswell. With all this information available to you, you still chose to buy the XR6T. Why order a car that you believe to have so many faults????????????

Resale Value
What sort of a price would the dealer have paid to be selling it for that price do you think?

Where Do You / Will You Get Your XR6T Serviced?
I bought mine at New Oakleigh Ford, and have been more than happy with all aspects of my dealings with them. I got the 3000km check up done there and will get the 15000km service done there too. After that I'm not sure. Before buying the "T" I had been using the same mechanic for about 18 years, he's now also a good friend, and I know I can trust his work and opinions. Alot will depend on the price of the 15000km service and how I feel about everything afterwards. Originally I was going to go to my regular mechanic for the 15000km service, but New Oakleigh Ford have impressed me enough to give them this service.
