June 11, 200323 yr #1 Hi ya folksInteresting ad in yesterdays paper (WA) a December 02 XR6T build manual was for sale at a Ford Dealer. Asking price $46,990....now are my calcs wrong here but couldn't you buy one for less than that brand new ...? This bodes very well for resale at a later stage. What are the prices of second hand XRT'S over east....?cheersZman
June 11, 200323 yr #2 I am assuming this is a drive away price. Also how many km's did it have on it?
June 11, 200323 yr #3 I think prices over "east" are similar (If you can find s/h). RRP on manual XR6T with no options is $45,085 +ORC (about $3,000) and you generally have to wait at least a month between order and delivery. It depends also what options the car you saw had. Might have 18s, leather, premium brakes, SatNav or other expensive options.
June 11, 200323 yr #4 even optioned up, it's not bad for a falcon :D We could all get together and price fix the T
June 11, 200323 yr #5 Author Just got of the phone to the dealer. The car has done 16,000k's and they are not prepared to budge on price as the salesman has had over 40 enquiries on the car. Its a manual with no extra's and they are asking top dollar because like he said you have to wait at least 4 months to get your hands on one (well in WA you do). Now that definitely sounds like encouraging news for Resale value down the track. Is it 30th June yet...?
June 11, 200323 yr #6 What sort of a price would the dealer have paid to be selling it for that price do you think?
June 11, 200323 yr #7 Author Well the salesman actually said they paid top dollar for it...hence the asking price. At a guess low 40's
June 11, 200323 yr #8 Worth the wait for a new one I reckon, that's what I paid for mine (check signature) drive away, and this car is 2nd hand, no options, and guess who pays the stamp duty.
June 13, 200323 yr #10 One of the club members bought his T 2nd hand in april. He said it was a few grand cheaper than getting brand new one.
