November 14, 20196 yr #1 Hey guys just wanting to know if anyone has bought one of these kits? I believe it’s a US company but correct me if I’m wrong. My end question is does anyone know if they will fit behind fgx xr6t 18’s as we know the Brembo s dont https://ceika-store.com/products/cbk368?rq=yr_2010~mk_ford~md_falcon
November 14, 20196 yr #2 I've never heard of anybody buying one of those kits... and yeah, looks like a U.S company... you'd probably be best off messaging them directly to find out if the brakes actually fit, but it looks like a pretty complete website in terms of the options you can select.
November 14, 20196 yr #3 Author Ok thanks mate. If it’s a US site what details would be the easiest and important for them to give me an accurate yes or no? As in clearances around the rim or offset ? As they won’t be familiar with the rims etc. if so could someone please post the details I should send as I don’t know. Thanks In advance
November 14, 20196 yr #4 Ask if they have a profile sweep of the units - something you can print out and test on your rims. example of the Harrop one here: https://www.harrop.com.au/shop/system/download/PROF_SWEPT_CALIPERS_FRT_BA_FG_ULTIMATE.pdf Also ask if they require any other hardware to fit (adapters, brackets, lines etc) or if the standard hardware and plumbing bolt straight up.
November 14, 20196 yr #5 Site says they can send you something to print to check wheel clearance.ADR issues a concern maybe?
November 14, 20196 yr #6 Ceika are made in Taiwan and are actually very good quality bits! made in the same factory as some “other” name brands you might double for
November 14, 20196 yr #7 Author Thanks for all replies. Just emailed asking the questions you listed Rab so cheers for that. El Andrew the ADR side of things are u talking about defects that could come from it or simply safety? MBAF thank you they look the goods but so does everything on a website haha but just was wanting to hear from anyone if they know what they pull up like on a big heavy fg
November 14, 20196 yr #8 I was thinking if you get an aftermarket brake kit (as opposed to one that was a factory option) you may need to get it engineered. If you are in a serious accident you don't want the insurance company examining your non approved brakes. If the brakes are ADR compliant they will likely be easier to engineer. They're just my thoughts - might not be the case!
November 15, 20196 yr #9 Author So these were the replies from the chat to us now people "Each kit has been tested and verified on the actual car model so we guarantee a perfect bolt-on installation. You can take a look at our options tooltips next to each options, we have everything you will need to suit any car from street use to pro racing! We are here to help if you need help feel free to drop us a message and leave your email so we can get back to you shortly." and "Hi, Thank you for your message and your interest. Can you please let me know your wheels sizes and the kit you're looking for ? Then I will be able to check with my team for ou templates (As we have few sizes available with 4 pot calipers) Also our 4 and 6 pot calipers use the same caliper body, only the inside is different." I have found mainly positive reviews online about them I just enjoy not having a car that stands out to cops here I’m SA and can get the calipers done in black etc. it’s that vs the pbr 2 pistons which 4’s front and rear sound so much better in principle just if they the goods
November 17, 20196 yr #10 Author So just a new question for you guys on the same topic. I have just come across some 6/4 brembos off a ba with genuine fpv 19’s at a v v good price. Is it true it’s not an expensive or difficult procedure to fit the ba brakes to an fg?
