HPT can flash over SCT “sometimes”

99% of X4 tunes will not be read by HPT so you’ll be stuck reading then writing

I always IDS a ECU that has a X device that’s gone missing as it can cause some checksum issues and then I also know I’ve got the latest base for that strategy ready to tune

ANY GOOD workshop that knows the turbo falcon platform will know this and most have the ford IDS or direct access to it ;)

Fwiw I was writing a tune one day and the laptop died and it just rewrote when I fired the lappy up again. No bricks were had :bricks:

Fwiw someone was writing a tune one day in the middle of nowhere on a 35 degree day where there was no phone coverage and kicked the cable out :S

Wouldn't load the tune - needed to flash back to stock

Wouldn't flash to stock (requires the TCM flash, which fails if too hot)

Fun

Yeah I knew about the checksum thing as it had been discussed before but I don't remember the exact details cos it was a while back.

I think rolls was saying that you could compare the files in hxd or similar to find the error and cut and paste the code to fix it.

That's why I left my first recommendation and then tagged jet cos I knew he'd give a good explanation without getting too complicated. :)

Haha I saw you did that Rab. I was gonna say that I "pulled a Rab" but mine was slightly different as it went flat and also is hpt

and it would have happened a long time before Rab managed to do it, so it'd be "doing a puffwagon" when Rab did it, wouldn't it? :stirthepot:

Haha it was only a few months ago if that and the only person "doing a puffwagon" is my wife in about 5 minutes.

Goodnight :finger:
