For the simple fact that its illegal and not likely something you'll talk your way out of and its very distinctive to smell. Cant leave it in the tank as it will disolve anything and everything. Methanol through an intercooler can make the mixture too cold to ignite properly. Lastly you'll use twice as much methanol than e85 so you need a lot of pump and a lot of injector.
BenDoCo I'm getten too old for this s**t Legacy Donating Member 4,509 Member For: 13y 5m 12d Gender: Male Location: A big bridge over a river in South Australia Posted 20/11/15 06:00 AM Posted 20/11/15 06:00 AM A few of the 'old skool' street machines use methanol over here and the smell takes me back to my speedway days (love the way it burnt my eyeballs as well hehe) but as has been said, every 2nd race meeting we had to change oil and every 3rd we changed plugs
