Hey guys has anyone used methanol as a fuel not for water meth injection?

Ive found the price of methanol per litre is getting quiet low and I believe theres even more power potential than e85

Don't.

E85 is a lot easier and way cheaper to setup

My Barra loved methanol but it is not worth the trouble for a weekender let alone a daily

I mean you can change the tune pretty easily

But good point

How did it run on meth?

Cooler temps is always a plus that's why I love the e85 <3

Methanol rapes your engine oil as well... Have to change the oil a lot more

Im at 7.5 with intermediate e85 use

Drag car, yes.

Street car - no. For the simple fact that its illegal and not likely something you'll talk your way out of and its very distinctive to smell. Cant leave it in the tank as it will disolve anything and everything. Methanol through an intercooler can make the mixture too cold to ignite properly. Lastly you'll use twice as much methanol than e85 so you need a lot of pump and a lot of injector.

A few of the 'old skool' street machines use methanol over here and the smell takes me back to my speedway days (love the way it burnt my eyeballs as well hehe) but as has been said, every 2nd race meeting we had to change oil and every 3rd we changed plugs
